Thousands of Brilliant Stars: You Deserve the Best!-Chapter 177: Let’s Make a Deal—You Pursue My Mom!
Lachlan Wyatt stood alone in the night wind, lost in thought for what seemed like an eternity.
The presence of Iris Crawford had long been scattered by the cold air, leaving Lachlan like a solitary ghost standing there until an unfamiliar car drove past him. The driver saw him standing in the middle of the road and immediately hit the brakes, honking twice to snap him out of it.
That wasn’t enough. The driver even leaned out and said to Lachlan, "Standing here is terrifying at night! Just because you don’t value your life doesn’t mean I don’t!"
Lachlan was startled by the shout, and as the driver restarted the car and drove off, he came back to his senses. He turned blankly in the direction Iris had left, instinctively taking a step toward that direction.
But no matter how many steps he took, he could no longer go back.
Suddenly, he recalled the melody playing on the radio inside the car, a tune he was very familiar with.
"Rarely do you show your innocent smile, only to turn into a devil once you turn away."
"With every possible effort, despite different paths, no matter how far from home, it feels like ants."
That night, Lachlan never figured out how he made it back home. Turning on the lights, the empty villa declared that Iris had never stepped inside. In the past, he could face off with Iris with a careless attitude; now, he must carefully use these memories to console himself.
Taking a deep breath, Lachlan wandered into the bedroom and collapsed into the covers, isolating himself from the outside world as he slowly closed his eyes.

The next morning, Iris was surprised to find a tall, thin figure standing at her doorstep.
She paused, but Felix Crawford eagerly went forward, "Steven Rhodes!"
At the Royal Palace, he was always closest to Steven. Felix tugged on Steven’s sleeve, "What documents have you brought?"
Steven gently coughed. Five years had passed; he had transformed from an impulsive youth into a considerably mature man. Now standing before Iris, his gaze was firm and cool as he handed Iris the documents he had tucked under his arm, "The Kingdom of L’s Royal Family has sent these divorce-related papers. I’ve completed the other procedures for you; just sign it."
Iris took them and smiled at Steven, "Thank you for cleaning up the mess for me in the Kingdom of L these past few days."
"Who else could’ve done it if not me?" Steven clicked his tongue, running a hand through his hair, having mellowed considerably over the past five years, no longer hot-headed like before. "Have a look at the terms. Five years have finally passed, and Iris, you are now free."
"Your sister and Cynthia can freely appear in others’ views now."
Iris smiled, placing the document against her heart, "It’s fortunate; everything’s over, it’s all over." 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
Felix looked at his mom, confused, "Mommy, when you say it’s all over, does that mean you won’t reconcile with Young Master Wyatt?"
Iris’s smile froze, revealing a glimmer of her true feelings for a moment, but after a pause, she lowered her head, "Young Master Wyatt is more formidable than you imagine. There’s no need to look for the ambiguous warmth of five years ago. Felix, some things can’t be started over again."
"What would he have to do for you to forgive him then?" Felix asked, "I feel like you haven’t let go yet, you’re still harboring hatred, and it hurts me."
Iris was startled, coming back to awareness. She first ushered Steven and Felix into the living room, then took out a pen to sign the paper, handing it back to Steven. Iris then gently touched Felix’s face, "Don’t worry, I won’t let myself be wronged anymore."
Felix realized his mom wouldn’t reveal anything to him; her pride was too strong, never showing her hidden emotions to anyone.
So when he escorted Steven out, Felix insisted he go alone, happily bouncing along beside Steven, and blinked his eyes, "Steven, can I ask you a question?"
Steven paused, kneeled down to face Felix, "What is it?"
"Do you like my mommy?"
Felix’s eyes were stunning, dark and bright like the meeting of black holes and the sea. Lachlan had passed on his most devilish yet beautiful gene to Felix; Steven stared in a daze for a while before turning beet red, "What are you saying!"
"I said, do you like my mommy!"
Felix glanced back to make sure Iris hadn’t come out before leaning forward mischievously to Steven, "I don’t want my mommy to be in pain forever, so if anyone can lead her out of the shadow of bitterness, I’m eager to provide support. You’ve been secretly liking my mommy for these five years, haven’t you?"
Steven’s fair, handsome face turned crimson; back at The Crawford Group, when Iris tugged his tie, his heart had skipped irregularly. Now, after hearing Felix, the refined assistant kept coughing to cover his embarrassment, "You’re just a child, don’t say random things!"
"Why not try chasing my mommy?"
Felix chuckled, raising his fingers, "I can provide help..."
Steven laughed, half-annoyed and half-amused, "Aren’t you afraid your father will grab your ear if he finds out?"
"Just say if you want to!"
Felix rubbed his hands, saying, "You pursue my mom so she can forget past grudges and sadness, and truly move forward; how about this deal!"
