Three Little Troublemakers Turned the World Upside Down After My Divorce-Chapter 16
My Conscience Hurts A Little (1)
“Mommy, I’m so angry. Both you and Daddy have offended me. When you grow old, you can rely on Ding Ding instead. I won’t take care of you anymore. I’m so heartbroken,” Lan Lan expressed her frustration but couldn’t find the right words. She could only sob and threaten as she cried in Shen Mei’s embrace.
At this moment, the servants and staff, including Shen Mei herself, believed that Lan Lan was bullying Ding Ding. Nobody paid attention to the little girl’s cries.
Shen Mei’s gaze was fixed on the departing figure of Li Zhenting as he held Ding Ding affectionately. Her eyes filled with a bitter chill. It was clear that Li Zhenting favored Ding Ding…
Shen Ning’s face flashed in her mind… If Li Zhen Ting discovered the true parent-child relationship between Shen Ning and Ding Ding, she would be plunged into an abyss of endless suffering, with no hope of redemption!
Shen Ning, you despicable woman, why did you have to come back?
Li Zhenting is finally about to marry me, and I won’t let you ruin it! Don’t blame me for being heartless when the time comes!
She clenched her fists.
Meanwhile, Coco, being held by his father, had a wide grin on his face.
Yes! This time, he had emerged victorious! Lan Lan had lost completely!
Hmph! As a man, if he couldn’t even handle a woman, how could he protect his dearest Mommy?
The night grew darker.
Coco had taken a long nap during the day and was full of energy at night.
With determined steps, he planned to sneak into Ding Ding’s playroom to play with toys. As he passed by a study, he suddenly heard voices coming from inside.
“Mr. Li, the company’s computer system still hasn’t been repaired. The hacker is cunning and well-hidden,” said Yang Guo, the chief engineer of the computer department, with a mournful face, trembling as he reported his work.
Having dealt with computers for so many years, this was the first time he had encountered such a peculiar situation. Despite leading all the computer engineers in a day-long search, they couldn’t locate the source of the problem. It was a grave matter!
He had no choice but to report the situation truthfully to Li Zhenting.
Li Zhenting’s expression turned grim, and he asked in a low voice, “Where is the hacker’s IP address?”
“Mr. Li, according to the trace, the IP is from the United States, making it difficult to crack,” Yang Guo replied with a trembling voice.
Li Zhen Ting’s eyebrows furrowed, his face darkened.
By the window, Coco perked up his ears, carefully eavesdropping on the conversation. The words “computer system” and “hacker” made him instinctively pat his head.
Uh-oh.
He had forgotten to unlock his mean father’s company’s computer system because he was too engrossed in playing with toys. It had been two days and one night already. He wondered how much money the company had lost.
He touched his chest and felt a pang of guilt.
Although his mean father had mistreated Mommy, he had agreed to marry her yesterday! And he had been nice to him! At least he protected him today!
If he really married Mommy, they would be a family.
Family members should love and support each other.
He pondered for a moment and came up with an idea.
“Cough, cough.” After Yang Guo left, the little guy walked into the study with his hands behind his back, clearing his throat.
Li Zhenting, busy with his work, looked up and was surprised to see his son still awake. He immediately frowned, “It’s so late, why aren’t you asleep yet?”
“Daddy, is something wrong with your company?” Coco smiled mischievously, deliberately asking a question he already knew the answer to.
“There is a bit of trouble, but it doesn’t concern you. Go to sleep quickly,” Li Zhenting replied without lifting his head.
“Daddy, can I borrow your computer?” Coco asked.
“For what?”
“The kindergarten teacher assigned me a task. I need to use the computer,” he replied smoothly, even though he was telling a lie.
“Go ahead, but be quick,” Li Zhenting agreed, focusing on organizing his documents.
Coco immediately climbed onto the computer chair with joy in his little steps. After a while, he clapped his hands and climbed down, saying in a childish voice, “Okay, Daddy, I’m going to bed now.”
“Alright, don’t kick off the blankets,” Li Zhenting watched the cute figure of his son and kindly gave him instructions.
For some reason, he felt particularly fond of this son. Six years ago, Shen Mei gave birth to a son and a daughter for him: Ding Ding and Lan Lan.
Ding Ding had a reserved and aloof personality, resembling him not only in appearance but also in temperament.
Lan Lan was beautiful and sweet, cute and well-behaved.
Privately, he always felt that his son was closer to him and gave more attention to him.
