Three Treasures: Spoiled Wife Goes Wild-Chapter 1754: Something’s Not Right
"So is Grace in the hospital now, or have you taken her home?"
"Grace is still in the hospital. After all, she just woke up and hasn’t fully recovered. Fortunately, there are quite a few doctors taking care of her, so there shouldn’t be any problems."
"With Grace’s current condition, do you think she’ll be able to have the heart transplant surgery soon?"
Upon hearing Vincent mention the heart transplant surgery, Charlotte’s palm, which was hanging at her side, began to tighten.
"Why didn’t you contact me? Haven’t I already found a heart for Grace to transplant?"
"Well, the doctor said Grace’s condition still needs to be observed, and the specific timing for the heart transplant surgery is yet to be discussed, which is why I haven’t immediately contacted you."
Actually, Charlotte had intentionally distanced herself from Vincent for quite some time.
After Grace fell into a coma again, Charlotte belatedly realized that there were too many suspicious points about Vincent.
Because from the very beginning, when Grace was born, he was the doctor who conducted her checkup, and later Charlotte always wanted him to take care of Grace.
But in the end, such an accident happened.
Charlotte naturally hoped it was all in her head. After all, she had known Vincent for many years, but concerning Grace’s health, Charlotte couldn’t help but be more suspicious.
That’s why Charlotte had Henry Thompson search for a compatible heart for Grace instead of contacting Vincent directly.
After hearing Charlotte’s answer, Vincent responded lightly.
"I see. When the time comes, if you need my help with anything, feel free to contact me. After all, I helped care for her when Grace was born."
"Thank you so much, Vincent." Charlotte sighed inwardly and then hung up the phone with Vincent.
Charlotte stood with her eyes slightly downcast in the garden until the voice behind her broke her silence.
"Charlotte, you’re here."
When Charlotte turned around, she saw her brother, Henry Thompson, walking towards her.
"What’s wrong? You don’t look well." Noticing Charlotte’s complexion, Henry asked with some concern.
Charlotte shook her head first, then immediately voiced her concern.
"Brother, I asked you to investigate the hospital situation before. Is there any progress?"
Upon hearing this, Henry’s originally gentle expression turned serious.
"I’ve been having people investigate, but haven’t found anything suspicious. Besides, the hospital where you gave birth was personally chosen by our father, and I’ve already had the children’s examination reports retrieved. Grace indeed wasn’t found to have any heart issues at the time."
"But I still feel... something’s not quite right." Saying this, Charlotte couldn’t help but rub her somewhat aching brow.
"Rest assured, I will help you get to the bottom of this."
Seeing this, Henry reached out and ruffled Charlotte’s hair, then went back to the villa together with her.
On the other side, having hung up the phone with Charlotte, Vincent stood at the window, his expression somewhat inexplicable.
Finally, his lips curled into a smile as he murmured:
"Charlotte, deceiving me like this will really put me in a tough spot."
He then turned and walked to the table, picked up a pen, and wrote down an address on a piece of paper.
It was the hospital where Grace was currently staying.
