Chapter 1825: Chapter 1825: Schemes

Hearing returned a little earlier than sight.

Charlotte first heard the noisy surroundings, then opened her eyes to find herself leaning against Vincent’s chest.

Charlotte wanted to recoil with disgust, but her strength hadn’t returned, allowing only a trembling struggle of her shoulders.

"Awake so soon?"

Charlotte’s awakening surprised Vincent somewhat, a hint of puzzlement flashed through his eyes, but he quickly masked it.

He then raised his eyes to look out the car window, and spoke leisurely:

"No matter, we’ve already reached our destination."

At this moment, Charlotte didn’t have enough strength to control her limbs, so she could only lean on Vincent, who carried her along.

Initially, Charlotte didn’t know where Vincent had brought her, but the salty sea breeze hitting her as she got off the car made her frown.

By the sea?

The light outside was glaring, and Charlotte instinctively squinted, taking a moment to adjust before she started observing her surroundings again.

Vincent had brought her to the port, where a yacht was docked not far away.

Charlotte’s heart jolted.

She originally thought Vincent would use a plane to take her away, but he had surprisingly changed the route.

And Charlotte was certain, Vincent had beforehand prepared for Justin Battleson, hinting clues might make Justin overlook the situation at sea.

Charlotte cursed inwardly.

If Vincent indeed took her out of Druarus, even if Justin found out, rescuing her might not be so easy.

She wondered whether that thing... had succeeded.

While Charlotte’s mind was in turmoil, Vincent was already guiding her by the shoulder towards the yacht.

Seeing Charlotte’s pale complexion, Vincent seemed like he could read thoughts, chuckling lightly.

"The plane was ready long ago, only it’s empty."

Yet Charlotte wasn’t willing to pay any heed to Vincent now, she merely pressed her lips together, her expression icy as if she was a soulless doll.

Vincent wasn’t bothered, leading Charlotte towards the yacht, where attendants were already waiting by the yacht to welcome Vincent and Charlotte.

"Take this over there."

Vincent handed a bag he was carrying to the attendant, inside was one of Charlotte’s coats.

The attendant bowed and efficiently took the bag, stepping aside to clear the way for Vincent and Charlotte.

But just as Vincent was about to board the yacht, he halted at the crucial moment.

He turned his head to glance at the attendant who had greeted him, his expression turning grim.

He held Charlotte tightly and decisively turned around.

Seeing this, the attendant quickly advanced to strike Vincent.

A thick coldness had already spread in Vincent’s eyes.

The abrupt change in situation frightened Charlotte, but her gradually recovering strength allowed her immediate reaction; she wanted to seize the opportunity amidst Vincent’s entanglement with the attendant to escape.

However, Vincent had already detected Charlotte’s movements, keeping her trapped without any intention of releasing his grip.

"Bastard!"

Vincent stepped back, spitting fiercely.

Someone actually plotted against him!
