Time Travel: The Heroine Has Arrived!-Chapter 1567: Other People’s "Mermaid" VS Competitive Villain (56)
Kagel Raymond.
An almost mythical man.
Audrey almost instinctively flinched, and the momentum she had painstakingly built up vanished in an instant.
In fact, very few people have the courage to meet Raymond’s gaze without faltering, including the Empire’s soldiers.
Audrey’s reaction was not surprising.
Gu Shengyin looked at Raymond with a bit of helplessness.
What does it feel like to have a fiancé who is winning at life as if he’s cheating?
Gu Shengyin thought, it feels great.
However, she still had a few things she wanted to say to Audrey, so she told Raymond to step out for a while.
Raymond was obviously not very willing—he didn’t want Gu Shengyin to be alone with a dangerous character.
Especially since this dangerous character had once tried to take Gu Shengyin’s life.
After much persuasion from Gu Shengyin, and pointing out that there couldn’t possibly be anything dangerous in the room, Raymond finally walked out. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
He also told Gu Shengyin that he would be right outside the room, and to call him if needed.
Gu Shengyin quickly agreed.
The room was left with only Gu Shengyin and Audrey.
Audrey had just witnessed the entire interaction between Gu Shengyin and Raymond.
She watched as Marshal Raymond, who stood high above everyone else, retreated again and again for the person in front of her.
It seemed that in her presence, he was not the Marshal holding real power in the Empire, but just an ordinary man willing to make his fiancée happy.
Why is Tiana’s life so smooth?
Because people like her exist, others feel discontent.
What she had worked hard to pursue, others obtained effortlessly.
"Are you here to show off?" Audrey asked this question for the second time.
Gu Shengyin looked around, seeming to want to find a place to sit, but unfortunately, found none.
Then she’ll just stand.
Gu Shengyin looked at the woman with a weary face and a hint of hostility in her eyes.
She chuckled lightly and said, "If you think I’m here to show off, then that’s what it is, I suppose."
A flash of anger suddenly crossed Audrey’s usually impassive heart—either it is, or it isn’t; Tiana, this woman, was completely toying with her.
She said coldly, "Seeing me like this makes you happy, doesn’t it?"
Gu Shengyin leisurely looked at Audrey, sighed softly, and said, "Audrey, I really don’t understand why you’re always so sharp with your words. I’ve never wronged you."
Audrey snorted coldly without speaking.
Gu Shengyin continued, "Just like that one time, you asked me to meet. I originally thought you truly wanted to make peace with me, and I was happy. But you turned your gun on me instead.
Audrey’s eyebrows twitched.
It was the craziest thing she had ever done in her life.
Looking back now, it was really stupid.
If she could choose once more, she certainly wouldn’t have behaved that way.
What if she couldn’t marry Prince Jonathan?
She could still live a life of luxury, and later meet a man who would cherish her dearly.
Instead, she’s sitting in this little room with only one iron window, staring blankly at the sunlight outside all day long.
She’s long regretted it.
But regret is of no use.
Unless someone with enough power to influence the Empire Supreme Court’s judgment stands up for her.
