After crushing the echo it turned it red eyes towards him. Akaris immediately jumped back and retreated.

It charged mowing down trees along the way, it speed was significantly higher than his but he did not panic.

In it current state it had no concept of fear, of course he didn’t know if that true he was just speculating from fantasy he read.

He didn’t panic nor did he deal fear, his mind calculated rapidly. Akaris had noticed a while back.

With his hawk eyes he was able to see all of it movements clearly. The bear was much faster than he was.

It came at him like a speeding mountain, even on all fours it was still closed to four metres tall.

It drew closer and closer and when it was only four metres away he jumped to the side and released the arrows.

Using the new move he shot both of them at the same time. The bear turned it head towards him but that was a mistake.

He had shot his arrows with that in mind, they pierced through it eyes blinding both of them.

Like a mindless zombie it continued charging at him like it did not feel the pain. He kicked off a tree and jumped trying to dodge.

The bear stood upright and swung it massive paw at him, time seemed to slow down but he still did not panic.

Just as the paw was about to hit him he twisted, he used the air wave sent by the paw to boost himself.

His body moved slightly upwards and the paw flew below him shattering the tree behind him.

It continued to hit the ground causing a giant shockwave to spread out. He landed on it paw and drew his bow.

Then jumped away, it turned but Oriana arrived right then. She growled like a cat and pounced.

Her claws still failed to pierce through it hide especially now in it current state. It ignored him and attacked her.

Her agility plus her acrobatics skill made her nimble, she was even more nimble than him somehow.

He realised while will can give one control over their body when it’s high enough, dexterity was part of the agility stats.

Or perhaps a combination of both agility and will be didn’t know. This status screen was highly different from those he saw in games and fiction.

There were a lot of missing stats on the screen itself. Honestly it was kinda of inconvenient.

( If the player dissatisfied with the status screen display they can sign a formal complaint to the council hall.)

The system suddenly spoke in his head, sometimes he forgot this thing can read his mind.

He had no idea how to sign said complaints nor did he want to draw any attention from the council or whatever.

He would just have to figure out the meaning of these stats by himself. Fortunately he understood some as he fought.

He retreated further while bear continued chasing after Oriana. It was slightly faster than she was but she was too nimble.

Not a single one of it attacks managed to break through it skin. Akaris stopped over 30 metres away.

Far enough that the shockwaves of it attacks wouldn’t disturb him. A mana arrow has formed on the bow.

Yet he did not release it but continued pouring more and more mana into the arrow, using his will he controlled the mana.

He gathered all of the extra mana on the tip of the arrow. The tip grew a deeper shade of blue.

Yet he did not stop, more and more mana was poured in nonstop. Oriana continued drawing it attention.

An entire minute passed, the mana started getting unstable and the arrow started shaking like it would explode.

He knew he couldn’t hold it anymore and released it. There was a sonic boom and it cut through the air like thunder.

The bear had no time to react before the arrow hit it on the face. Time seemed to slow then boom.

The arrow exploded sending a wave of mana in every direction. The bear was sent crashing on the ground.

It rolled and broke multiple trees on the way, even Oriana was pushed by the shockwave, she turned mid air and landed on her feet.

The dust cleared and every tree in 10 metres around the explosion were effected by the shockwave.

The left side of the bear’s face had a large charred hole that revealed the bone. Akaris stood frozen.

He had not expected such power from that arrow but it was understandable, he had poured most of his mana into it.

( Mana arrow has reached level 10, new exploding arrow created.) He received the notification as well as information.

The information flowed into his mind, this new arrow was not a new skill. It was still mana arrow but a different kind.

He knew he can choose which arrow to use with just a thought. According to the information.

It should take about five seconds to form the exploding arrow and now at level 10. He can form normal arrows in half a second.

The best part was that he needed much less mana to create mana arrows now. Akaris couldn’t help but grin.

The bear stood up and faced him but before it could react Oriana shoved a claw through a hole on it face.

The mana claw contained all of her mana and grew longer stabbing it brain, the bear stood still then dropped dead.

Akaris sighed with relief.
