Tiny Genius Alert! Mom & Dad Better Make Peace-Chapter 789 - 61: I’ll Wait for You at the Hotel
At noon, someone called to say they were having lunch with a client and had asked Geng Yi to order food, which should be delivered to the studio shortly.
After hearing Lei Yicheng’s words, Tang Yige felt more relaxed when facing Si Nan.
Si Nan likely sensed it too, and ended the call after nearly twenty minutes with Tang Yige, only at her urging.
Shortly after hanging up, the ordered meal was delivered to the studio.
Tang Yige opened the food box and discovered that all the dishes were her favorites, which surprised her a bit, as she assumed he had forgotten what she liked to eat.
Still, Tang Yige’s appetite wasn’t as good as before, and she couldn’t eat much.
The meal ordered was enough to last her the entire day.
Eating the meal Si Nan ordered for her, Tang Yige’s lips curled into a smile, so sweet as if the joy would spill into laughter.
...
After lunch, Tang Yige took a short break before diving into the sewing room until after six in the afternoon when Si Nan called, prompting Tang Yige to emerge with her phone.
"What do you want for dinner?" His mellow voice reached her.
"Hmm..." Tang Yige glanced at the time, remembering she needed to pick up a certain little one from the airport past seven, thinking going out for dinner might be tight, she told him over the phone, "I have something to do later, so I can’t join you for dinner. Why not eat with Mr. Geng? Is that okay?"
"What’s so urgent that you can’t even have dinner with me?" Si Nan’s voice was gentle, without any hint of displeasure or discontent, though it carried a mild tease.
Tang Yige smiled as she headed upstairs, "I need to pick up a friend from the airport, who arrives around seven. Going for dinner now would be too rushed. I’ll eat with them once I pick them up."
Si Nan didn’t ask what kind of friend Yige needed to pick up, his voice remained calm, "So, you really won’t accompany me?"
"..." Tang Yige’s ears turned red, "Not tonight."
Si Nan sighed regretfully on the other end, "Looks like your friend is more important than me."
"..." Tang Yige laughed silently, saying nothing.
"Should I wait for you at the hotel?" Si Nan inquired.
Tang Yige bit her lip, her face heating up, "Okay."
"Alright. Come over early when you’re done, okay?" Si Nan said.
"...Got it." Tang Yige whispered.
Hearing Tang Yige say this, Si Nan reluctantly hung up.
Tang Yige took down her phone and patted her flushed cheeks.
She walked to the wardrobe, took out a sleeveless long emerald-green dress to change into, let down her long hair twisted up with a pencil, brushed it with her hand, and picked up her phone to go downstairs.
She grabbed her bag from the living room sofa and hung it on her shoulder, then went out the door.
The trip from here to the airport was about a forty-minute drive, so she would arrive around seven-twenty.
If the plane was not delayed, the little one should have already arrived.
Since she was picking someone up, Tang Yige drove herself.
Arriving at the airport.
Yige parked her car in the designated parking area, got out, opened her bag to take out her phone and called Zhang Lan, while walking towards the airport lobby.
Zhang Lan’s phone connected, but it was the message indicating the phone was turned off. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
So, they hadn’t arrived yet?
Tang Yige raised her eyebrows and walked towards the arrival section of the airport.
There were many people gathered around the arrival area, Tang Yige worried the little one wouldn’t see her, so she squeezed herself to the very front, where she was more noticeable.
Tang Yige waited until nearly eight, watching waves of people come out, but didn’t see the little one or Zhang Lan and the others.
Tang Yige was puzzled.
Didn’t the little one say the flight was at nine? Logically, they should be here by now.
Could it really be delayed?
Tang Yige continued to wait.
Around nine o’clock.
"Little Gege..."
A bright little voice spilled over from ahead.
Tang Yige’s heart skipped with delight, she looked over.
She saw the little one carrying a cartoon backpack, wearing a caps backward—a total denim punk look.
Moreover, the little one was wearing sunglasses, how he saw her, she never knew.
Tang Yige couldn’t help but laugh, raising her hand to wave, "I’m over here."
Rong Rui, like an excited little pup, dashed and sprinted towards Yige.
"Come out first."
Tang Yige signaled.
Rong Rui paused for a moment, his chubby body pitched forward, quickly running outside.
Tang Yige hurriedly squeezed out of the crowd.
As soon as she stepped out, her legs felt a weight.
A certain little one had already pounced and hugged her leg.
Tang Yige’s heart melted, she bent down and picked up the little one.
