“Scream...shout.”

I laughed. “You’ve really gone crazy.”

He shrugged and headed up the hill.

“We’re gonna climb that?” I asked, surprised.

“Yep.”

“Will you be able to....”

“I’m fine, woman...Now...hurry up here.”

I helped him up the hill and we got to the top in no time.

This place overlooked half the city and you could see the beaches and the ocean.

The view of the city alone was pretty astounding.

“So what are we doing here,mister.”

“I told you before...scream.”

“Ah-ah.” I let out, sarcastically.

“So I’m going to say some words to you and you’re going to scream.”

“This is insane.”

“Mona, I’m serious, I don’t like that those guys made you this way, you’re probably still feeling so bad because you feel that even if they’re still in jail, you haven’t gotten your revenge. The best revenge that you could ever have against them, the only revenge that could make you let go of the past is showing them that they didn’t break you. Tears pricked my eyes as he brought the microphone close to his mouth.

“You don’t need sympathy.”

“I DON’T NEED ANY SYMPATHY FROM ANYONE AND YOUR CRITICISM DOESN’T MATTER TO ME!” I screamed.

I turned to face him and he smiled.

“You don’t need anyone to lower the bar for you.”

“I DON’T NEED ANYONE TO LOWER THE BAR FOR ME.”

“You’re strong and phenomenal.”

“I’M SO STRONG AND PHENOMENAL.”

“You don’t need fixing. You’re a super woman.”

“I DON’T NEED FIXING. I’M A SUPERWOMAN. ANDRO’S IRON LADY.”

He burst into laughter.

“Yeah, Iron lady in a good way.”

I faced the city properly this time.

“DOUCHEBAG JULIUS AND YOUR FOOLISH FRIENDS. YES WHAT YOU DID HURT ME...IT HURT ME SO BAD BUT GUESS WHAT. YOU RUINED YOUR LIVES NOT MINE. MY FATHER WOULD NEVER LET STEP OUT OF JAIL BUT ME. I’M FREE. AND I’VE GOT SO MANY YEARS AHEAD OF ME AND I’M GOING TO LIVE SO BEAUTIFULLY...SO BRIGHTLY...SO....”

I started coughing from shouting too much.

“Alright...alright...I think that’s enough.”

“ANYWAY. I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT I’M OKAY, ASSHOLES!”

When I turned around to face Lorenzo.

He was chuckling.

I walked up to him and kissed him, taking him by surprise.

He slowly reciprocated.

When we disengaged from each other, I was panting heavily.

“How do you feel?”

“Great.”

“I deserve more kisses, don’t you think?”

I laughed and stood on tip toes then feathered kisses all over his face.

“I’m going to pass out from your kisses this time.”

We both laughed and then he winced.

“I think that’s enough screaming for one day, we should go home now.”

“I agree.” He said.

I offered to drive as we headed back home.

I think I should scream out my anger more often.

I felt so relaxed.

“You don’t talk about your mother.”

I went on to explain that I was adopted. I had been abandoned by my birth mother.

He stared at me, pitifully.

“Don’t give me that look. Don’t pity me.”

“I’m...I’m just in awe of you. I admire you. You’ve been through so much and I’m proud that you’re still forging through life.”

I shrugged. “I can’t say I turned out well though. Everyone sees me as a bad person.”

“While I can’t entirely sugarcoat that, I still feel you’re the most incredible person I know.”

I laughed.

When I glanced at him, he suppressed his lips in a tight line and looked away.

When we got home, Enzo was pretty tired, after taking his meds, he laid on the bed and took a very long nap.

It was very long to me because I kept checking on him hoping he would wake up and hang out with me.

But I didn’t want to wake him up.

He wasn’t even supposed to leave the house today.

But he did.

For me.

Smiling, I walked down the stairs but the smile disappeared when I saw a guard leading Allegra in.

“Who said you could let her in?!” I thundered before I could think about anything else.

My first thought was of her going up to Enzo’s bedroom and cuddling him.

Like...what the hell?

I walked up to her.

“What are you doing here?”

“I came to check on Enzo...to see how he’s doing.”

“He’s doing okay. Is that all?”

“There are also some documents he has to go through.”

“Those will have to wait until he gets better. Now kindly use the door.”

“You don’t have any right to ask me to leave.”

I gasped.”I do, actually. I’m his wife and I want to also warn you to know your place and stop hovering around him.”

She glared at me.

“See her out now!” I ordered the guard.

He nodded and escorted Allegra out of the house.

I folded my arms as I turned around.

My father said I should set the boundaries.

I’m just doing what’s right.
