I’ve fallen so much in love with Mona and I want her to be the mother of my kids.

But she doesn’t want to be.

I leaned against the chair.

Does she even feel anything for me?

I thought she might do because she lets me touch her.

I just want her to feel something for me.

It hurts to be the only one going crazy about her.

When I got home that day, I approached her at the living room.

I need to know where I stand in her life.

“Mona, I can understand you might not want to carry a baby in your womb. Some women don’t like that. I think they said it ruins their shape or something. I would really love if you would carry my baby but if you don’t want to. I can compromise, we could opt for surrogacy.” I suggested.

“No.” She snapped.

Sighing and with a heavy heart, I suggested again. “We could adopt...there are many kids who...”

“I don’t want children.”

“I want kids, Mona.”

“How is that my business?” 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

“It should be because I’m your husband.”

She slowly stood up.

“Or you don’t see me as that?”

She kept quiet.

“What do you even see me as?Your fuck boy?”

“No.”

“Do you feel something for me?”

Again, she kept quiet.

“Just say something me, Mona. Tell me how you feel. Tell me if you still want a divorce. I told you I love you. I’ve told you countlessly of how I feel about you. Why can’t you just tell me how you feel? Let me know where I stand in your life. I know you told me that you didn’t want any man in your life. I just wanna know if that has changed. If you want me, and if that hasn’t changed, I need to know, you are already breaking my heart, Mona.”

She still wouldn’t say anything.

Sighing with frustration, I walked away.

I needed to talk to my Dad, I needed to sort myself out.

I didn’t like it when he said that.

The following day, I visited my Dad at our family house.

I told him everything that has happened between Enzo and I.

“Oh Dear, you love him.” He let out.

I swallowed. “I don’t think I know how to love someone.”

He held my hand. “Of course you do. And you have to tell him.”

“How do I tell him?”

“It’s not hard, dear. Not hard at all. He must be dying to know how you feel about him. So you just have to keep calm and talk to him, freely without any fear of inadequacy. Tell him how he makes you feel. And about not having kids, c’mon, Mona, children are blessings, bundles of joy.”

“Wouldn’t they feel bad having someone like me as a mom?”

He gasped. “Of course not. On the contrary, they would feel proud of having such a strong woman as their mother.” He assured.

I smiled, relieved.

I was going through some documents when a knock sounded on my door.

Looking up, it was Dante.

He had been on a business trip overseas to attend to some company matters.

He always kept in touch though, because I still needed guidance with this company stuff but I had made quite an improvement in such a short time, for someone who had no idea about this kind of business before.

“Has everything been settled?” I asked.

He nodded. “I heard you transferred your former secretary.”

I gulped. I couldn’t tell him it was because she was creating problems for Mona and I. I wasn’t supposed to be close to Mona in the first place.

“She wasn’t working effectively.” I replied.

“Well, Allegra had only been trying to seduce Lorenzo. She had this weird thought that since she had the same name as Lorenzo’s mother, then they were fated. I guess she was making a move on you too, since she thought you were Lorenzo.”

I nodded. “Yeah, it was pretty uncomfortable.”

“Are things also uncomfortable with Mona?”

I stared at him, the look he was giving me clearly said he had something in mind.

Should I tell him the truth?

“We...”

“Actually, I’ll be honest with you. Your mother called, and she seemed to have guessed that there is something going on between you two, especially after your appendix operation. Did you forget that she’s your brother’s wife?”

I sighed, exasperated.

“Do you think it was early living together with her and not fall for her?”

“So you’re admitting you’ve fallen for her?”

I couldn’t exactly deny it anymore.

“Your mother still believes Lorenzo would be found soon, what are you going to do then?”

“I don’t know.”

“And Mona, did you stop to think about how she’d feel if she ever found out that you’re her husband’s twin? Does she even feel the same?”

I realized now that I had truly been too selfish. I shouldn’t have acted on my feelings.

“She doesn’t.”

“So what are you going to do now?”
