To Byul (Omegaverse)-Chapter 91: I’m going to let go of the past
Chapter 91 - I'm going to let go of the past
Chin-hwa took his bath and got dressed, planning to spend the day with Yun-tae. He was reluctant the last time but this time, he wanted to go all out.
Especially since a burden has been lifted and replaced with a different kind of burden.
He felt he had a lot to compensate for, to Kang-woo, that is.
"Hwa," Si-woo called as he was on his way down the stairs. He glanced up and found her coming down the stairs.
"Yes, Noona?" Chin-hwa answered.

"Oh my, you look so cute." Si-woo said as she covered her mouth, feeling proud and gushing at his adorable matching beanie, matching coat, and matching boot Chin-Hwa was wearing. "I'm so jealous that I'm not the one going out with you right now." He hugged him, pressing his face to her Bossom. "I'd like to flaunt to the entire world that my little Hwa is the cutest."
"Haha," Chin-hwa laughed a bit forcefully. He knew the kind of siblings he had and he knew how capable they were when they set their mind to something. So, he decided not to lead her own with any of his words and just laughed along with her lines.
"You're going out with Yun-tae, right?" She asked and Hwa nodded.
"Yes, but why did you stop me? Did you want to tell me something?" He asked and Si-woo's expression froze a bit. She slowly dropped her hand on his shoulder and said,
"Hwa, I care for you a lot." She said and Chin-hwa nodded at the obviously stated fact. "And I wouldn't want to see you getting hurt so I'll open up. If you have any questions just ask. I'll answer any of it. Even if it's 'that' question." She said and Chin-hwa flinched. "I don't care what the others have to say about it but I don't think I can watch you like this anymore."
"You'll answer 'that' question?" He asked and Si-woo nodded.
Chin-hwa pursed his lips, a feeling of uncertainty flowing through his body. Why now? Why was it when he had gotten a clue about Kang-woo's situation that she decided to disclose it?
Had they figured it out?
Knowing his family and what they could do, it wouldn't surprise him if they already knew he was aware that Kang-woo's life was on the line.
He bowed his head.
And if Si-woo was taking action like this, it only meant that what Kang-woo said was true right? Since that was the case... He didn't want to know.
It would only confirm his theory that while Kang-woo was fighting for his life, he was crying his heart out, thinking he had abandoned him.
He did not want that confirmation. At least, not now.
"Thank you, Noona." Chin-hwa said and raised his head, smiling at her. "But I'm completely fine and you don't have to worry about 'that' anymore. I've decided to just... Live with the way things are right now."
Si-woo's eyebrows furrowed.
"You've decided to live with the way things are?" She asked. Maybe she didn't hear right but... Chin-Hwa has given up on finding the answer to his question? How was that possible?
"I'm going to let go of the past," Chin-hwa said, holding his sister's hand and taking it down from his shoulder. "And I believe that's the best for everyone. I don't want to worry you guys any further."
"But you aren't..."
"Noona," Chin-hwa called, "... I have a lot to atone for."
"What?"
Chin-hwa spotted Woo-bin from the corner of his eyes and then let go of Si-woo's hand,
"Daddy," he called out. "I'm sorry, Noona but I need to get going." He said and hurried down the stairs, leaving Si-woo dumbfounded.
What the hell did he mean by he had a lot to atone? And who the hell was he atoning to?
Her blood boiled. She hoped it wasn't what she thought it was because if it was then she had to set things clear before things went too far.
"What is it, my baby?" Woo-bin asked, wrapping Chin-hwa in his arms.
"Ugh, you're squeezing me too tight, Daddy." Chin-hwa complained, barely able to breathe in Woo-bin's tight embrace.
Even if that wasn't the first time he was seeing him that day, he would hug Chin-hwa every chance he got.
The competition for his attention was high, you know.
"I can't help it." Woo-bin said, slowly freeing his hand. "You look so adorable," he let him go and then stroked his hair softly. "I could watch you all day and never get tired."
"Don't use the line you use on Mommy on me as well," Chin-hwa said. "If not I'll tell on you."
"Awn, I'm just expressing my feelings." Woo-bin said and clutched his chest. "You and your mom capture my heart without even lifting a finger."
Chin-hwa exhaled. When would the daddy of his grow up?
"I don't remember owning these clothes," Yun-tae muttered as he made his way towards the living room.
The clothes he had been given were not his. They were brand new as well but with nothing else to wear, he decided to wear it.
It might've been given to him on purpose.
"I think it expensive," he muttered. "Oh no, I hope I'm not wearing something that's supposed to belong to Hwa. I should find Hwa's mom and..." He raised his head to find Chin-hwa and Woo-bin staring at him.
He thought he had been muttering but with the way the house was so huge and silent most of the time, his voice was fairly audible.
"H-hwa and... Ahjussi." Yun-tae called out, his face a little twisted in nervousness.
"Yun-tae," Chin-hwa called, approaching him and Yun-tae pressed his lips together, worried that he was indeed wearing what belonged to him.
How would he apologize for taking his clothes without permission?
But as soon as Chin-hwa got to him, he clapped his hands in his, and with sparkling eyes, he exclaimed,
"You look so cute in that outfit, Yun."
Yun-tae was a little taken aback. Chin-hwa's eyes were twinkling. Did he... Did he look that good?
"Thank... Thank you." He said and then noticed what Chin-hwa was wearing was similar to his. "Does this... Belong to you?"
"What you're wearing?" Chin-hwa asked and Yun-tae nodded. "No, I haven't seen this color before." He said and then his eyes widened. He looked at his own clothes. "Wait, did my mommy give this to you? He did, right? He took out this outfit for me after I was done bathing and... Oh gosh, he planned this whole thing."
"R-really?" Yun-tae asked. "Then, this is from your mom?"
Chin-hwa nodded.
Yun-tae's coat, beanie, and boots were all ash in color, while Chin-hwa's were cream. But though they were different colors, they were similar in brand and design as well.
It was as if Hae-won wanted them to wear matching clothes and so she bought something that Chin-hwa already had.
Though, he had only used it once in the past so it was still basically new from his closet.
"We're wearing matching clothes." Yun-tae said and the thought of it made him blush.
"You look so adorable, Yun." Chin-hwa said looking extremely delighted.
"And you too, Hwa," Yun-tae said, his ears flushing along with his face. He was glad he covered them with the beanie though, but it did not hide much of his flustered state.
Woo-bin watched both of them and then wrapped his arms around their necks.
"You two look so adorable. A couple of bird chicks, haha." He said and Chin-hwa laughed.
"Daddy, you're literally calling yourself a bird if I'm a chick." He said.
"Oh? Then I'm a mighty Eagle." He said. "Want this eagle to take you out?"
"No, we can manage on our own." Chin-hwa said, rejecting Woo-bin's offer and crushing his heart.
"My Hwa is a little too cruel, but he's also cute when he's cruel, so I don't mind."
"Instead, can I make a request?" Chin-hwa asked.
"Anything, you know I'd do anything."
"Then, can you drive us over to Kang-woo's place?" He requested and Yun-tae blinked. Why Kang-woo's place?
"Yeah, but is that all? Wouldn't you want to use your celebrity father a bit more?" He smiled broadly showing off his charms that almost no one could resist but Chin-hwa shunned him down.
"I already use your credit card so I think that's enough." Chin-hwa said, inflating Woo-bin's hopes.
He was one of those people who could resist his charms.
"Hwa, don't you think you're being a bit too harsh?" Yun-tae asked in whispers but Chin-hwa laughed.
"No, it's alright." Chin-hwa said. "I can't spoil him too much. Dad will think I'm picking favorites if that happens."
"You mean..." Chin-hwa nodded.
If Chin-hwa showed Woo-bin too much favor, Baek-Hyun, who was busy a lot of the time, would think his absence was the cause of it.
He would think Chin-hwa had picked Woo-bin as his favorite and as a result of that, he would be depressed.
And no one could stand the air when Baek-Hyun got depressed.
"So, will you take us there now?" Chin-hwa asked. "Or should we wait a bit?"
"Wait, hold on. I still need to thank your mom for the clothes." Yun-tae said.
