Chapter 175: Chapter 175: Helping You Break the Record

Noticing that his hand kept shaking, her initial anticipation turned into concern.

The claw slowly descended, grabbing a panda toy, then rose up, gently delivering it to the exit.

The little panda rolled out.

The nearby children erupted in cheers.

"Uncle is amazing!"

Winston Valentine bent down to pick up the panda and placed it in Vera Yves’ arms, a hint of playfulness in his eyes, "Now tell me, am I good enough?"

Vera Yves held the toy, really wanting to pretend she didn’t know him.

To prove himself, Winston Valentine tried a few more times, while Vera Yves laughed and distributed the stuffed toys to the kids around.

Winston Valentine looked at her, "Do you want to give it a try?"

Vera Yves shook her head.

Winston Valentine took what she was holding and placed it on a chair nearby, then led her to the machine, inserted a coin, and naturally encircled her from behind, "I’ll help you."

Vera Yves placed her hand on the joystick, his large hand covering hers.

"Are you sure this will work?"

Winston Valentine whispered in her ear, "Didn’t you say you’ve never caught one before? Let’s break that record."

Despite the noisy surroundings, she seemed to feel his heartbeat, beating rhythmically against her own chest.

The claw moved, Vera Yves wanted to go left, but Winston Valentine pushed her hand to go backward, and for the first time they ended up catching nothing due to differing views.

"You don’t trust me that much?"

"I want to grab that one close to the glass."

"That one can’t be caught." Winston Valentine tightened his grip on her hand, "Trust me."

Even though Vera Yves wanted to listen to him, her hand seemed to have a mind of its own, and after seven attempts, she hadn’t caught anything.

On the eighth try, just as she was about to give up, a frog toy was caught, and Vera Yves’ hand trembled slightly as she held her breath until the frog fell into the exit.

Vera Yves turned around happily, exclaiming excitedly, "I caught it!"

Winston Valentine still stood behind her, feeling his heart soften at the sight of her smile, and drew her into his arms, "Hmm, you’re great."

Then he lowered his head and kissed her smiling lips.

Vera Yves responded briefly before pushing him away, "Has the movie already started?"

Winston Valentine touched her lips, "Want to try catching one more?"

Vera Yves took the frog out and stuffed it into his arms, "Let’s go watch the movie instead."

"Anyway, we’ll be lost once we get inside now."

Vera Yves looked at him helplessly, "Who told you to keep playing endlessly?"

Winston Valentine tousled her hair slightly disdainfully, "Only because you’re too dumb."

Vera Yves swatted his hand away, "I didn’t ask you to help me."

"You really have no heart as always." Seeing her about to leave, Winston Valentine held onto her hand.

Vera Yves whispered under her breath, "You’re the one with no heart."

By the time they went inside, the movie was nearly halfway through, a suspense film that left Vera Yves completely clueless.

Afterward, Winston Valentine took a call about a dinner gathering that night.

Vera Yves wasn’t too keen on joining.

"Not many people, you’ll know them all."

Vera Yves didn’t decline further.

The gathering was at a private villa, and somehow they had gotten a sheep, which the chef was roasting, filling the entire courtyard with the aroma of food.

A dozen or so people, all quite familiar to Vera Yves, mostly Winston Valentine’s group of mischievous friends. Even during their marriage, Vera Yves hadn’t gotten close to his friends, let alone now.

Upon seeing Vera Yves beside Winston Valentine, people were somewhat surprised, except for Theodore Xavier who greeted Vera Yves.

Vera Yves wasn’t interested in socializing, intending to find a spot to sit, but Winston Valentine held her waist and glanced at the group, "What’s this? Not saying hello when seeing someone?"

There was a momentary silence before someone reacted, smiling at Vera Yves, "Hello, sister-in-law, long time no see."

Vera Yves forced a smile, "Hmm."

The chorus of "Hello, sister-in-law" made Vera Yves a bit embarrassed, she glanced at Winston Valentine discontentedly, enough already.

These people were like seasoned pros.

The news of the couple’s potential remarriage was spreading wildly in their circle, with Winston Valentine’s attitude seeming to confirm it.

But before, Winston Valentine hadn’t taken his wife seriously, so maybe now he was just acting affectionate to coax her into remarriage, putting on a show.

The servants had almost finished preparations, and the group sat around together.

Frequent gatherings meant they had plenty to talk about; Vera Yves was unfamiliar with them and not interested in joining, slowly eating on her own.

Winston Valentine occasionally responded to conversations while still grilling food for her, and seeing the food piling up like a small mountain before her, Vera Yves softly said, "Please, don’t grill anymore, I’ve had enough."

"Eat more to replenish." Winston Valentine’s hand rested on her waist, "You’ve got no meat, you’re just too bony."

At his mildly displeased comment, Vera Yves swatted his hand away.

Someone grilled shrimp, and Winston Valentine donned gloves, peeling a few and placing them on Vera Yves’ plate.

Among them, two women were busy attending to their men, observing Winston Valentine’s attentive care for Vera Yves with envy.

In this circle, few men truly valued the women beside them.

Vera Yves truly couldn’t eat anymore, pushing the food towards him, "You eat it."

Winston Valentine removed his gloves and affectionately wrapped her in his arms, "My hands are sore, feed me."

Vera Yves grabbed his hand resting behind her waist, finger by finger, helping him stretch it out and massage, "If it’s uncomfortable, don’t push yourself."

Watching her lowered gaze while feeling the moderate pressure of her massage, Winston Valentine, minding the presence of others, resisted the urge to embrace and kiss her properly.

After massaging him for a while, Vera Yves let go of his hand, "I’m going to the bathroom, you eat by yourself."

Vera Yves stood up and left.

Someone couldn’t help but ask, "Third Young Master, are you really planning to remarry?"

Winston Valentine withdrew his gaze, "Just prepare a red envelope."

After the meal, the group went inside to play Mahjong, Winston Valentine concerned Vera Yves might get bored, suggested she join in.

Some had played Mahjong with Vera Yves before, recalling her good luck humorously, "Sister-in-law, go easy on us today."

Vera Yves smiled slightly, "I was just lucky that day." 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

The group engaged in gossip while playing Mahjong, Vera Yves wasn’t interested, and after a round, neither losing nor winning, she was swapped out.

On the second floor was a terrace, Vera Yves intended to get some fresh air, but as soon as she arrived, she noticed some people smoking there and turned to leave.

"I don’t get it, why not just keep a woman outside? Aunt Lynn doesn’t mind, does she? Why did your father insist on a divorce and making it such a big deal to marry her?"

Winston Valentine extinguished his cigarette; he hadn’t understood either before.

"And you, aren’t you just trying to persuade Vera Yves to remarry so the old lady will side with you? You’re being overly diligent."
