Top Assassins Call Me The Lady Boss-Chapter 202: Fake a Mission
Chapter Two Hundred and Three
"Matilda’s? Come on. What would she be doing here?" Ahmet said quickly, instinctively defending his cousin.
"Yeah, right." Markus let out a short laugh, though it sounded more forced than amused. "It’s a hair tie, not a name tag. Any girl could have one of those."
"No," Asli said quietly. Her tone made the room still. "This one is custom-made." Her eyes stayed locked on Markus as she spoke. Slowly, almost unconsciously, her fingers curled into her palms.
"What business do you have with her that you needed to bring her here?"
For a split second, no one moved.
Then, "Right. That explains it!" Cole exploded. "You bastard!"
Before anyone could react, he had already crossed the room. He moved so fast that the others barely registered it before his fist was already flying toward Markus.
Luckily for Markus, his reflexes were just as sharp.
He stepped aside at the last second, Cole’s punch slicing through empty air.
"Are you insane?" Markus snapped, taking a step back.
"Why on earth would Markus bring Matilda here?" Ahmet cut in quickly, stepping between them before things escalated further. His voice was
firm, trying to restore some order in the room.
"That hair tie could be anything. For all we know, it’s just a trend right now. Girls might be making them everywhere. At the end of the day, remember that Matilda is not a part of us, she only lives with us."
Markus didn’t respond immediately. He simply stood there, staring at them. Then he scoffed under his breath.
"It’s my fault for offering my house for this meeting," he said bitterly. "Go ahead. Call her. Ask her if she came here."
His gaze moved from Asli to Cole. "I can’t believe the two of you."
Cole was still breathing heavily from the sudden burst of anger. "You better be telling the truth," he muttered darkly. "The last thing we need is someone else getting pregnant."
The words slipped out before he could stop himself. The moment he realized what he had said, the room fell into a heavy silence. The three pairs of eyes turned to him.
Cole dragged a hand down his face before letting out a frustrated breath. "I know I report to you, Boss," he said, looking directly at Asli now. "But this... this is absurd."
His voice was no longer angry. It was strained. "Did any of you even think about the consequences?"
His gaze shifted briefly to Ahmet. Cole looked terrified. "Now we’re not just worried about you losing your position," he continued, his voice tightening. "We’re also worried about you losing the baby."
His jaw clenched.
For a moment, she couldn’t speak. Because the fear he had just voiced...
Was the same one she had been pushing to the back of her mind all day. Her jaw clenched.
"How could the two of you be that careless?"
For a moment, no one spoke. Asli’s brows drew together slightly. Cole rarely spoke to her like this or questioned her before. She slowly lifted her chin, forcing her expression back into its usual cold composure. But the tension in her shoulders betrayed her.
"Finally," Markus muttered. His voice carried both
frustration and bitter validation. "Thank you, Cole, for saying exactly what I’ve been saying to them since I found out." His eyes flicked between Ahmet and Asli. "How could they be this careless?" He was excited that the attention was no longer on the hair tie.
Ahmet stepped forward immediately, his expression hardening. "That’s enough, Cole," he said sharply. "Watch your tone. She’s your boss. You’re out of line." 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
Cole let out a harsh laugh.
"Out of line?" he snapped. His eyes burned with anger as he looked at him. "Do you think I care what my punishment would be?"
The room fell more quiet as his voice rose. "Do you even understand what will happen if Marco finds out? Being with her is one thing but leaving evidence is another!"
He gestured toward Asli, frustration pouring out of him.
"Look at what just happened to her! She almost lost the baby. You put her in danger, you imbecile!" he barked at Ahmet.
His voice dropped slightly, but the anger remained.
"I don’t even want to imagine the punishment waiting for her if this gets out."
Ahmet’s expression darkened instantly.
"You think I would sit back and watch someone harm her and our baby?" he shot back. His voice was low, but the warning in it was unmistakable.
"It seems my leniency with you has clouded your judgment about who I am." His eyes hardened. "I do not fear Marco."
"Enough!" Asli’s voice cut through the room like a blade.
All three men went silent.
"Enough! All of you!" she yelled again.
Her chest rose and fell as the words burst out of her.
"Do you think you understand the war raging inside of me more than I do?" Her eyes moved from one man to the next.
"Do you think I don’t know the danger I’m in? Regardless of who is trying to make me miscarry?"
Her voice shook from the storm of emotions she had been holding back.
"If none of you are going to help me find the culprit, then I’m leaving." She turned to walk away. But the moment she took a step, the room tilted. A sudden wave of dizziness crashed over her. Her vision blurred, and she staggered. Before she could fall, three pairs of hands grabbed her at
once.
Ahmet caught her arm. Cole steadied her shoulders. Markus supported her from the other side.
"Sorry," they all muttered almost at the same time.
For a moment, no one moved. Then Markus exhaled slowly, shaking his head. "You know... it’s funny," he said.
The others looked at him.
"Cole obeys only Asli, yet somehow he acts like a big brother without even realizing it."
Cole scoffed quietly but didn’t argue.
Markus continued, his voice softer now. "What I mean is... that baby is one lucky child."
His eyes moved between the three of them. "The three of us, whether the two of us like the situation or not, would still protect that kid with our lives."
He wanted Asli to know that whoever was planning to harm her wouldn’t succeed and that she wasn’t alone. He paused for a moment before speaking again. "Asli... going back to the Villa is a bad idea."
She frowned slightly.
"Staying at ours is even worse," Markus added. "Not until we figure out who’s behind this." He folded his arms.
"So until then... We’ll fake a mission and you, hide." He gestured around. "Either here or at Ahmet’s place."
Asli didn’t respond immediately. They could see the hesitation in her eyes. Ahmet stepped forward quickly.
"For our baby’s sake," he said gently. His voice had lost the earlier sharpness. "The three of us will do everything to find the culprit." A small smile tugged at the corner of his lips. "But we’ll keep you updated so you don’t feel like you’re missing all the fun."
