Top Gamer Reincarnated as an Archmage-Chapter 52: Haling Nursery
After saying that golden threads of mana seamlessly floated out of her palms, trying to stitch the scar on Nina’s stomach together.
"My child, what have you all been doing?" She turned towards Klaus who was just lying on the bed, his arm still bleeding but it didn’t seem as urgent as her torso.
"We had a spar, and this is how it ended—"
"A spar? Oh my, what kind of spar wounds up children like this?!" Her reaction seemed so shocked for no reason, like she wasn’t a nurse at a magical academy where people fought continuously in a world of magic.
’Right, honestly, she does have a point though,’ It did start off as a spar and both of them went overboard; however, Aurelion didn’t interfere.
"Ugh," Nina shook as the threads started stitching together the scar even tighter than previously; she was sweating profusely as her body shook from the pain.
"We are nearly done, child," Biria held her hand out of comfort whilst she was about to finish.
’She seems nice,’ She definitely seemed the most humane out of all the teachers and most of the people Klaus has met so far on his couple of days-long journey in this world.
As soon as she finished, she moved over to Klaus, her threads still floating around her palm.
"This might feel painful, brace yourself."
Her sentence nearly made Klaus’s eyes twitch, but he held it together.
’Can’t be that bad,’ And it wasn’t; Klaus felt and saw the golden threads stitching her hand together slowly; the only thing he felt was a warm sensation, almost like when someone peed themselves.
"It doesn’t hurt?" She asked as she saw how laid back Klaus was, whilst Nina still seemed to be in pain despite her procedure being finished.
"No? Not really, it just feels warm," Klaus sighed it off as she was nearly done with his arm, moving together the last couple of stitches. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
’No disinfecting and nothing? I guess mana is just an all-purpose tool then?’ He hadn’t been injured in this world before, so he had no clue how healing magic worked, but seeing this, it was rather simple.
’Hell, with some practice, I might be able to do this myself,’ he was instantly on a high horse after Biria finished his stitches; his arm was able to move freely; however, a small scar was left in the area.
"Thank you," he said as he rubbed his arm and moved it around, trying to see if he had any complaints whatsoever, but he had none.
"Urgh," Nina churned as she clutched her torso, signalling that she was still in pain.
’And she wanted to continue, huh?’ Klaus sighed as he jumped off the bed.
"Don’t worry, child, it will get better," Biria clutched Nina’s hands out of comfort whilst turning towards Klaus.
"You are free to leave, my child; in any case of an emergency, make sure to come here," there seemed to be genuine concern in her tone and voice, so Klaus took it to heart.
"I will, thank you," with a nod, he thanked Biria then walked out of the nursery, leaving behind the two girls.
Jynara stood outside the door and her expression turned into shock as soon as she saw Klaus, "Eh?"
"What? Didn’t expect to already see me outside?"
"No, I thought it would take a while for you to leave..." Concern was evident on her face for some reason despite that she still smiled at him.
’Why is she so nice when I beat her, making her my slave?’ To Klaus, her behaviour still didn’t make much sense; couldn’t she have just let him die or killed him along the way to the nursery and disguised it as him bleeding out so that she could be free?
’I’m definitely overthinking it,’ he chuckled, making Jynara turn her head, not understanding what was funny.
"Madam Biria stitched you up nicely," she pointed at his arm, which only had a small scar on it at this point.
"Yeah, it wasn’t bad," he pulled his clothing over it and started walking down the hallway without another word.
"W-wait," Jynara instantly caught up to him and followed after him.
"Where are we going?" Klaus didn’t stop at her question; he just kept walking.
"Where is the headmaster’s office?" His question made Jynara stop instantly as students passed by them.
"Why?"
"I want to attend more senior classes," he smiled, his golden eyes shining under the sunlight which was radiating through the ginormous windows next to them.
Jyrana chuckled after hearing his explanation, "I thought you wanted to quit after being scarred once."
"Quit? Nah, never," Klaus let it off with a chuckle as he stood still waiting.
"Ah, right, I’ll show you where it is," with that, she kept walking forward down the hallway.
After some time which felt like eternity, they arrived near the headmaster’s office, which was actually pretty close to the library Klaus had used.
"Have you ever used it?" He pointed to the library door, and Jyrana instantly shook her head.
"I was never ranked high enough to use it," she didn’t seem sad about it though, almost like she didn’t care, which seemed normal considering her lack of intellect Klaus had spotted so far.
He knocked on the headmaster’s door; however, no reply came at all.
"Do I just wait?" He turned to ask Jyrana, but she just shrugged, not knowing what to say or do.
’Right, great help,’ so he just knocked again instead, waiting to hear something back.
Then without any warning whatsoever, the door opened in front of him, allowing him entry.
"I’ll be back soon, stay here," he said to Jyrana as he stepped inside without looking back, the door instantly closed behind him as he stood in Marcus’s office.
At the end, in front of a window, stood Marcus, looking outside like he was pondering about life.
"Headmaster Marcus," Klaus took a couple of steps forward, "We need to talk."
