Transform into a magical girl after getting off work-Chapter 669 - 227: Emerald Sparrow’s Worries
"It's settled."
At the same time, in a different exam room in the Silver Corridor, a rotund elf doll suddenly made this sound.
"What's settled?" Emerald Sparrow, sitting idly by the equipment, turned her head to look at the doll.
"Your kid's matter."
The elf doll waved its paw, displaying the light screen it held in front of Emerald Sparrow: "Her test results should theoretically be selected and sent to Her Majesty, but I managed to let it slide."
Unlike the previous labyrinth observation mechanism, there is no collective observation segment during the magic armor examination by the Exam Institute.
Firstly, because the assessment process is not particularly entertaining, and secondly, the tests involve many high-end instruments from the Research Institute, and the Institute is reluctant to showcase this content publicly.
However, the absence of observation does not mean the results won't be seen. In fact, in this examination, all magic armor data that scores above the "Briza" level gets immediately submitted to the Crown Faction's Teaching Selection Department at the Magical Affairs Institute.
The Teaching Selection Department of the Crown Faction will screen these results and select some magic armor data it considers promising, sending it to the Royal Court. The Palace Secretary at the Royal Court then conducts another screening, forwarding the most valuable data to the Queen.
Undoubtedly, any data that appears before the Queen in this manner is bound to make an impression. If everything goes smoothly, Lin Xiaolu's previous fantasy of being "valued highly" wouldn't be impossible. Unfortunately, she never imagined there'd be a villain hindering her path to promotion.
This "villain" was none other than Emerald Sparrow.
Emerald Sparrow didn't want her daughter's test results to reach the Queen.
Lin Xiaolu's magic armor was very special, unprecedentedly so, and she knew it. Therefore, if Lin Xiaolu's data was sent to the Royal Court, she would become a focus of attention.
She knew that, perhaps due to her own reasons, Lin Xiaolu might have already caught some people's eyes. Even though Lin Xiaolu becoming a Magical Girl—even if all the key points had been clarified, seemed genuinely coincidental, Emerald Sparrow still harbored some doubts.
But even so, she wouldn't let Lin Xiaolu's magic armor data flow into the Royal Court, because written records would provide others an excuse to spy on, or have access to, Lin Xiaolu.
Emerald Sparrow didn't want this.
She believed that most of the world's Magical Girl colleagues still harbored righteousness and compassion, and that the Magical Girls in the Kingdom were generally upright; she even felt she could begin to trust Emerald and the Gemstone Scepter she once doubted tremendously...but she would never trust this country's Royal Court.
Indeed, she had made up her mind to discard her prejudices and try to approach the position of the Sapphire Wand, step into the heart of this country's authority, and coexist with that Queen. But the starting point of all this was precisely because she didn't trust the Royal Court; she must do her best to see if she could change it.
Until she can truly achieve these goals, she won't let Lin Xiaolu be exposed to the Royal Court's gaze.
Perhaps she had her own biases; perhaps this would somewhat sever Lin Xiaolu's connection to being recognized as a Magical Girl by the Kingdom, but if doing so could make Lin Xiaolu's situation a little safer, Emerald Sparrow was willing to be that villain.
"Thank you."
Emerald Sparrow snapped back to reality from her thoughts and earnestly thanked Emerald, taking the light screen: "But, how can you do such a thing? We don't have anyone in the Crown Faction, can't this be traced back?"
"This, oh, don't worry, I didn't use any illegal means. It's actually quite simple: intercept some of the B Level assessment results in advance. When your kid's results come out, release them together with the intercepted data. As soon as the Crown Faction retrieves one file, the back-end database subtly records ten files. With mutual cover, the child's information can avoid being seen immediately."
The Emerald controlled its duplicate and waved its paw: "After all, I am the Gemstone Scepter of Her Majesty—I won't and can't betray her."
"And if the Crown Faction people want to retrieve those stored data later?" Emerald Sparrow frowned.
"Then the best they can see are the documents the Teaching Selection Department level has access to."
Emerald's clone spread its paws: "As for your kid's data, it now requires Gem Wand Level or higher permissions to view, and it's common knowledge..."
"The Crown Faction has no Gemstone Scepter behind them." Emerald Sparrow realized.
"Precisely," Emerald replied lazily, "The entire process is compliant; the backlog of information can be explained as a coincidence, their initial oversight of the S level scoring data is also a coincidence, and the subsequent confidential update of the data was needed for our Research Institute's research. It's nothing more than the Crown Faction being responsible for screening results, but lacking the authority to see all the data, thus missing it in the end."
"Thank you." Emerald Sparrow thanked once more, and unusually, didn't comment further on those bureaucratic maneuvers.
