Transmigrated as a Ghost-Chapter 1146 Turning the Tide of Battle (4)
"Reflector Shield."
With only centimeters of space before Gronex’s breath attack swallowed them, Lyra conjured the power of her defense unique skill.
In an instant, what looked like a turtle shell composed of diamonds appeared in front of her.
When the jet of molten rock reached the shield, something occurred that the great Lava Dragon that had unleashed the attack never would have expected.
Despite Lyra’s Reflector shield only composing a small area in front of her, it bounced back the entirety of the burst of lava that Gronex had spewed at Marcus.
The ruler of the molten sea did not even have time to put up any defenses, as having his own breath attack sent flying back at him was a baffling scene to watch. Leaving him utterly stupefied
Though he was immune to the heat emitting from the lava, the force with which it slammed into him still knocked Gronex out of the air and smashing into the ground below.
"You cut that pretty close, Lyra. I was starting to worry there for a second." Marcus said, a mixed expression of relief and anxiety on face.
He trusted Lyra enough to go along with her plan, but facing down a blast of magma from an over level ninety dragon was a harrowing experience.
Marcus was tougher than most. Heck, he could have his head blown clean off and come back from it perfectly fine.
Still, Gronex’s attack had been packing a great deal of power in it, and he was pretty sure that even he would not be able to recover from having his entire form vaporized.
"Well, it had to be that way, or he would have had a chance to dodge, and all of that would have been for naught. Now, we need to get back in there. Our opening isn’t going to last for long."
Without waiting for another moment, Lyra switched places with one of her clones again and got in position for the next attack.
It was time for them to finally deal a decisive blow.
"I really hope that this will be enough." Marcus said as he pulled out a half dozen top quality mana restoration potions and drank them all at once.
The instant that he had finished draining the bottles of their contents, a thunderous roar shook the area.
If Gronex had not been angry before, he certainly was now.
Having his own breath attack hit him was humiliating,
He had already taken a few surprising blows during this battle, but none had enraged him quite so much as this one.
"Oh, he’s looking pretty furious now."
"Yep. That must have been embarring."
"I mean, what kind of dragon get’s hit by their own breath attack. That’s their signature move." 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
Lyra and her clones surrounded Gronex and began taunting him. Taking the Lava Dragon from only angry to absolutely livid.
Had there been a chance that he would let them go after he was satisfied with this fight, there was not one anymore.
Of course, Lyra had not been riling Gronex up just for the fun of it. She was serving as a distraction so that he did not notice the most important player in their counterattack.
By the time the ruler of the molten sea noticed that something was wrong, it was already too late.
From up above, an incredibly bright light shone down on the area.
It was similar to how Marcus had illuminated everything when casting his tier nine light magic spell, though the intensity was not nearly as strong.
However, there was one spot that remained cloaked in darkness. Where the shadow of a giant wolf sat over Gronex imposingly.
"I shall show you the folly of taking me lightly." Roxene said, glaring down at Gronex.
Even though she had not raised her voice, the enormous Lava Dragon had heard her clearly. And for the first time, he felt a shiver of fear run down his spine as his instincts told him that he was in danger.
Hastily he tried to move away, but no matter how fast he could move, it was not enough to escape from Roxene’s Supreme Skill now that the activating condition has been satisfied.
"Absolute Authority, Crushing Shadow."
An unbearable force pushed down on Gronex. Like nothing he had ever felt before.
His strength stat was well over a hundred thousand, yet even as he strained his muscles to move, all he could do was shake in place.
This was the power of this version of Roxene’s second Supreme Skill. The one she had received at the end of the special dungeon.
Similar to Quillon’s Ten Greatest Techniques Supreme Skill, Roxene’s Absolute Authority had multiple aspects to it. Except, hers differed in that she could not use every different power of the skill at once.
She could choose one aspect to use a day and could only manifest this single ability going forward until thirty hours had passed.
Nevertheless, this did give her a versatile bag of tricks to tap into when she needed it. With her Crushing Shadow being a powerful restraint skill.
Any part of an entity’s form that was engulfed in her shadow would become immobilized.
For any creature smaller than Roxene, this was an easy enough condition to meet.
Against Gronex, however, a beast that was over five hundred meters long, it had required her to fly high into the sky and create a bright light behind her. Then she had also needed him to be stopped for a few seconds. Something Marcus’ and Lyra’s teamwork had pulled.
Thanks to everything coming together, she had managed to completely cover his body with her shadow. So, he was not going anywhere now.
With Gronex now locked in place, Lyra and her clones compressed the black flames that they had clad their bodies in weapons in.
She built up as much power as she could handle and then fired it. Launching nine giant blasts of her dark flames at the restrained Lava Dragon.
