Transmigrated as the fake young master, I'll beat up the scumbags and b*tches-Chapter 307Vol. 1 - - A Girl You Like
“Auntie, do I look okay dressed like this?”
“You look great—more than great! HuMing, you're so handsome!” Mo QingXia burst out laughing.
She stepped forward and helped straighten the wrinkles in HuMing’s clothes.
Both of them turned to look at their reflection in the mirror, where their appearances were clearly visible.
“HuMing, you’re part of the Gu family now. Whatever you do in the future, you’ll be carrying the Gu family name with you. Don’t be afraid of making mistakes—but of course, don’t do anything illegal either.”
“The Gu family might not spoil their children like the Shi family does, but you need to understand—we are a family.”
She used that word again: family.
You could see how much effort she had put in over the years to hold this household together.
Even someone like Gu ZhaoChuan, whom she had raised so carefully, was, at least on the surface, a good person.
It was just a pity that Gu ZhaoChuan had set his heart on eliminating him. Otherwise, HuMing thought, teaming up to deal with Shi Zhong wouldn’t be such a bad idea.
Too bad. Ever since he arrived in this world, both of the “Real” and “Fake” young masters he had met ended up standing against him.
He’d even thought about working with them.
Compared to PVP, he felt PVE was more in line with his current self.
But life’s a survival game—if the other side wants you gone, then you have no choice but to strike back. Otherwise, they’ll keep stomping on your head, thinking you’re easy prey.
HuMing slowly turned, reaching out to rest his hand on Mo QingXia’s shoulder.
“Auntie, you’ve been so good to me. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt someone care about me like this. Thank you.”
He pulled her into a hug—and just at that moment, Gu WeiJun and Gu ZhaoChuan walked in and saw the scene.
Their reactions were… mixed.
Gu ZhaoChuan’s expression was unreadable, as if nothing fazed him. But his clenched fist gave him away.
Gu WeiJun, on the other hand, couldn’t help the slight smile at the corners of his mouth.
Seeing his son getting along so well with his wife—it warmed his heart. This should have happened more than ten years ago. Now that he finally knew the truth, Gu WeiJun couldn’t help but feel a little guilty.
He had already started looking into the hospital incident from back then, but unfortunately, hadn’t found any real leads.
The doctors and nurses who delivered the babies—some had vanished, some were dead, and a few had even been institutionalized.
It seemed all the evidence had been swept away by Shi Zhong.
Still, it didn’t matter. Just finding HuMing was already a blessing amidst all the misfortune.
He was determined to protect his family—no matter what!
“Shall we head out?” Gu WeiJun asked, smiling warmly.
HuMing let go and looked toward the two other people in the room.
His gaze landed on Gu ZhaoChuan, who met it evenly.
“ZhaoChuan, I don’t know much about these parties. I’ll be counting on you to look out for me tonight.”
HuMing walked up to him and gave him a friendly pat on the shoulder.
Gu ZhaoChuan smiled right back. “Of course. I’ll introduce you to some of my friends later. Some of them even go to our school. When they find out you’re part of the Gu family, they’re gonna be stunned.”
“I’ve always been part of the Gu family, haven’t I?” HuMing said, though it was unclear whether or not he meant it sincerely.
Gu ZhaoChuan’s smile twitched ever so slightly—but HuMing caught it.
He was rattled already. Just a few words had shaken his composure. Still, he was keeping up the act—for now.
HuMing figured there was no rush to deal with him. Unless he tried something tonight—which seemed unlikely. Shi Zhong wouldn’t risk letting him act rashly at an event like this.
No, he was waiting. Waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
The three of them got in the car, with Lan Jun in the driver’s seat.
Lan Jun glanced at HuMing in the front passenger seat, then looked at the trio behind him.
That center seat used to belong to HuMing—but Gu ZhaoChuan had taken over it for years.
HuMing leaned against the window, watching the flickering city lights blur past.
He just hoped tonight would go smoothly.
No one would die—not easily, not unless it was part of his plan. Anyone he didn’t want to die… would not die.
The car sped down the road. Gu WeiYi’s family and grandfather had already arrived at the venue. Xia XiaoXi and the others were also on their way.
Xia XiaoXi said she had prepared a special gift for HuMing tonight and told him to look forward to it.
But it seemed everyone had forgotten—today wasn’t just his birthday. It was also Gu ZhaoChuan’s.
His return had stolen quite a bit of Gu ZhaoChuan’s spotlight. That probably explained why ZhaoChuan seemed especially annoyed with him today.
“By the way, HuMing,” Mo QingXia suddenly asked, snapping him out of his thoughts, “do you have a girl you like at school?”
Lan Jun glanced at HuMing and had to resist the urge to smirk.
He was curious too—he’d seen at least four girls showing clear interest in HuMing, and they were all top-notch. If it were him, he wouldn’t even know how to choose.
And to this day, he still didn’t know how HuMing felt about any of them.
If he hadn’t pointed it out last time, the guy might still be completely clueless.
This was the first time Gu WeiJun had heard the topic brought up.
Whenever he asked Gu ZhaoChuan, he would just laugh it off and say school came first.
He was genuinely curious if HuMing had anyone he liked.
And if he did? Well, the Gu family wasn’t the type to demand political marriages. If his son liked someone, then so be it. He and Mo QingXia would never interfere.
“Uh… maybe? I’m not really sure,” HuMing said after a pause. “Feels like it’s still a little too early for me.”
“Too early? No way!” Mo QingXia protested. “Sure, the school says not to date too young, but back in our day, we were already holding hands and walking by the river at sixteen!”
“Kids your age already have these feelings. I see them all the time when I’m out shopping—those young couples walking hand in hand, sweet as sugar. Every time I go out, I get force-fed dog food. Even at my age, I feel like reliving my youth!”
She cast a rather pointed look at her husband.
Gu WeiJun, catching her gaze, immediately raised his hand in surrender. “I’m free this weekend. You can take charge—sound good?”
“Good attitude. HuMing, want to come with us this weekend?”
“Uh…”
“I think it’d be nice,” Gu WeiJun added, watching HuMing through the rearview mirror.
He really hoped HuMing would say yes.
“…Alright, I’ll come.”
The three of them chatted happily—while someone else seemed to have been completely forgotten.
Gu ZhaoChuan lowered his head, the shadows of his dark hair hiding eyes full of seething rage!
(SHMOLL: What if Gu ZhaoChuan was the older sibling? You know one yr/two yr older. This scene would be so pitiful. But it isn’t so I am happy:))
