Transmigrated As The Final Villain of a Death Game-Chapter 141: The Slave Boy [ 4 ]
For a moment, it seemed like the world had stopped.
I stared at the slow, incoming blade, and to my surprise, my eyes moved on their own as they began scanning the angle of her sword, her stance, and even the way her muscles moved through her tight black shirt.
Within the blink of an eye, I realized that this downward slash was actually a fake, and the real attack was a direct thrust straight through my neck.
The moment that realization came, time returned to normal.
And so, right as her downward slash was about to land, I took a quick step to the side.
As if on cue, the woman switched her attack to a thrust and sent it past me at the open valley.
However...
RUMBLE!
CRAAAACK!
The ground burst open as a small ravine formed ahead, continuing on for several hundred meters before finally stopping.
I did not have much time to admire her attack, as another soon came, and it was just as powerful.
For some reason, I thought time would slow down again, but it did not.
Figuring that it had something to do with my new Sword Saint Gift, and that it only activates when my life is in serious danger, I decided not to use it as a crutch. Instead, I countered her slash with a powerful slash of my own.
Despite me striking perfectly, she overpowered me and made me bend the knee before striking down with her blade again.
But I realized her movement was a bit too wide for what she was going for.
So I decided to use both my kendo knowledge and Kevin’s swordsmanship’s first technique.
I activated 100% of my energy for a split second, bearing through the headache as I launched myself forward and thrust my blade at her waist.
But unlike with the Vermillions, she just sped up her downward slash, avoided my advance, and positioned her sword straight in front of my neck.
Due to the nature of Kevin’s swordsmanship’s first technique, I could not evade it.
And so, I did the only other thing I could, and that was to use the first technique once again, just in the opposite direction, barely avoiding my head from being cut off.
But with my back turned toward the woman, I was forced to jump into the air and use the momentum of our blade clash to send myself into the valley wall.
The valley wall crumbled under my feet as I blasted forward and slashed my blade in an arc.
She was in a really bad position.
Honestly, it was probably the worst position one could be in.
Yet, the woman just raised her blade and pointed it at me.
I knew my position was better...
But feeling the pressure from the tip of her katana, I slashed the air to stop myself as I landed on the ground and stared at her.
I was ready to go again, however...
"That’s fine. I’ve seen enough."
With those words, she sheathed her katana and met my gaze again.
"I’d say you’re an above-average amateur. You would have been just above average had you not shown me that trash swordsmanship move."
Before I could reply, she suddenly lowered her stance, mimicking Kevin’s technique.
She exhaled a sigh, then vanished out of sight, reappearing to my left.
CRAAAAAACK!
Along with that, she thrust her blade, tearing a huge hole through the valley, which ended only once she pierced through the other side.
Seeing the clouds through the hole, I was left shocked.
Even so, the woman corrected her posture and shook her head.
"Yeah, this swordsmanship is total shit."
Pardon?
"It only works when you’re fighting against opponents who either don’t have a brain or have no clue how to sense energy."
She pointed her blade at me.
"It’s a shabby swordsmanship only meant to please the crowd’s gaze. Don’t use it ever again."
Uh...
For a moment, I actually thought she was joking.
But from her serious expression, I realized that was not the case.
Though, what does she mean by that?
The main character’s swordsmanship is only meant to please the crowd’s gaze...?
He literally defeated several demon kings with it.
Though it did not seem like she wanted to elaborate on it.
Instead, she sheathed her katana once again and nodded at me.
"My name’s Aliyah. Thanks for bringing my brother back safely."
Aliyah...?
That name— 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
"Follow me inside. I’ll treat you two to some dinner."
Snapping me out of my thoughts, she walked back to Clementine, ruffled her brother’s hair, and went deeper into the cave home.
I took a deep breath and eventually followed them inside.
The entrance was pretty large, but the further in I went, the narrower it got.
It did not take long to reach Aliyah’s and her little brother’s cozy home, with a few beds, furniture, a kitchen, and even a make-shift bathroom.
Clementine separated from the other two and approached me, rubbing my cheek slightly.
"Are you okay? She said she’s going to spar with you a little. I knew I should have stopped her."
I shook my head.
"It’s fine. You wouldn’t have been able to stop her if she is who I think she is."
"Is she someone you remember from... you know?"
"Mhm."
She was indeed.
And she was a real big shot.
"I’ll tell you about it in a bit. Let’s eat some food first."
Despite how plain and simple the kitchen looked, Aliyah seemed to be a good chef as she cut the meat and vegetables neatly, cooked them on her make-shift stove, and finally plated them on some wooden plates.
Her little brother was the one to bring the plates over to the dining table.
Once all four plates were down, Aliyah ruffled his hair again.
"Go change your clothes and hop into the shower. You stink, Eric."
"Humph."
Eric crossed his arms and ran into the bathroom.
As for Aliyah, she gestured at the table.
"Sit. There’s no need to wait for Eric. He usually takes ages to shower and prepare."
Clementine and I exchanged a glance, then sat down.
The food did look appetizing, and despite our circumstances, the food won Clementine over as she dug in.
Aliyah did as well.
But I did not.
I picked up the fork, stared at my food for a few seconds, then glanced over to Aliyah.
"...I never expected the Sword Saint of the 12 Calamities to be living so frugally."
