Transmigrated As The Final Villain of a Death Game-Chapter 165: The Barbarian Massacre [ 3 ]
A/N: This Chapter is quite a bit darker than the rest in a moral sense, so T/W in that regard. There’s a reason for what happens in this Chapter which’ll be revealed soon, but do let me know if it’s a little too much so I could rewrite it.

[Whatever was in that food turned them into half demons.]
[The changes they’re going through are just their bodies rejecting the demonic cores.]
At Morr’s words, I fell into thought.
What exactly were the priests hoping to do by turning the barbarians into demons?
Or was that even the goal...?
More importantly, there was no such thing as half demon.
I’m the only one who’s a half demon. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
The others are either humans or demons, and since they have demonic cores, they are demons.
As if reading my mind again, Morr said:
[I combed through some of your experiences. If my hunch is correct, you might see something interesting if you feed one of them your blood.]
Feeding them my blood, huh?
Worth a shot, I guess.
I opened the mouth of the patient in front of me, then slit my wrist, allowing my blood to flow freely into his mouth.
At first, his injuries seemed to heal, and even his complexion was getting brighter.
But that wasn’t for long, as in the next instant, the small trace of energy that was inside my blood reacted to the empty demonic core inside the man’s chest, causing crimson horns to sprout instantly.
A wave of demonic energy washed over me, pushing me back slightly.
Although I thought that was all, I soon realized that what I just did traveled like a chain reaction, interacting with every single patient in the room and stirring up their demonic cores, turning them into demons as well.
Knowing what would happen if this demonic energy were to escape the building, I reacted instantly, casting my Telekinesis all over it and isolating the energy from escaping further.
As I glanced back at the people who had been turned into demons, I was met with a horrifying sight.
GRRRRRR
Aha...Ahahahaha!
The patients went mad, their screams and laughs sending uncomfortable shivers down my spine.
I had come here just to check out what was happening... but just what is this?
Before I could ponder over it for longer, the demonized patients dashed toward me, their expressions crazed and their dark talons aimed straight at my throat.
...Why does this happen everywhere I go?
Because of my Control Field, they were all slowed down considerably.
So with that in mind, I drew my katana and began cutting down each of the demons, destroying their cores.
In seconds, the pharmacy was littered with nothing but demon blood.
Yet as I approached the final demon, I suddenly stopped, feeling that something was off.
Unlike all the other demons, this one... he didn’t demonize.
Instead, all this patient’s injuries were healed, and now, he just lay there, unconscious despite the demonic core being active inside his chest.
I just stood over him, then closed my eyes, following the few traces of energy that were gathered outside.
I inspected the healthy people.
...Similarly to this man, they had active demon cores inside their chests, and yet they were acting just like humans.
"What is this...?"
Morr landed on my shoulder and said:
[I didn’t expect to see something like this in this day and age. It seems like the demons are very old school.]
"Do you know what this is?"
Instead of telling me outright, Morr pointed at the man below me.
[Infuse some of your energy directly into his demonic core. Just make sure you isolate the area first, just as you’ve done a moment ago.]
"..."
Yeah...
I had a bad feeling about this.
"Is something like earlier going to happen?"
Morr’s voice turned colder.
[It’s easier for me to show you rather than having to explain everything to you from scratch.]
"You know, I hope you’re just being a pain in the ass because I don’t know you very well. If this is really your personality, then..."
I dropped that topic and instead decided to follow Morr’s advice.
I carefully placed my hand over the man’s chest and then infused my energy directly into his demonic core.
Nothing happened at first, as my energy was simply absorbed by the core.
But just then, I felt an insane amount of energy build up inside the core, but instead of being expelled like earlier, the energy began to compress inward.
I took a few steps back and watched as the man’s body began to contort into a weird shape, until abruptly stopping.
The man’s body returned to normal, but he no longer seemed alive.
Yet the demonic core in his chest continued to thump, until eventually, the space inside his chest began to twist and open, revealing a black, goo-like portal leading to elsewhere.
At first, the portal was only the size of his heart, but it didn’t take long for the portal to envelop the man completely.
In the end, all that was left of the man was the human-sized portal.
I stared at it for a few moments, as I knew exactly what this was.
How could I not?
The majority of the main quests inside the game made me close such portals, since they led directly to the Demon Realm.
Except they were always guarded by powerful demons.
I always thought that to open a portal like that, the demons needed to perform a large-scale ritual.
But... could they really open a portal this effortlessly?
Glancing to the side, I sensed the few hundred other barbarians whose conditions were the same as the man’s a few moments ago.
Does that mean if some weak demon were to just descend here and use a bit of his energy, he’d create thousands of portals in the blink of an eye?
"..."
Do I stand a chance?
The descent of the demons is only a few months away.
Yet the closer it gets... the more I realize how inevitable it is.
What am I supposed to do?
[Now, Amon. I didn’t form a contract with you to hear you sulk about how unfair life is.]
I turned toward Morr.
"Can the rest of them actually summon the portals just like this guy?"
[...Yes.]
"And is there any way to fix them?"
[If there is a way, I’m not aware of it.]
Come on...
"What about the ones who demonized? Can’t I just destroy their demonic cores, and—"
[Amon. If you had come here a month earlier, maybe something could’ve been done. As it stands now, you cannot help these people, as every single one of them is affected.]
Yeah.
I don’t think I’m surviving to the end.
But...
I’m also willing to do whatever it takes to ensure I survive.
Even if that means wiping out every single barbarian on the Western continent to ensure that at least this side of the world doesn’t have any portals through which demons could come.
I stared at the portal with a determined look, then enveloped it with my Telekinesis.
I pushed, pulled, and compressed the portal, until eventually, my Telekinesis overpowered the portal and caused it to shatter and dissipate.
Once that was done, I withdrew my Telekinesis that was covering the pharmacy and took a deep breath.
"Hey Morr?"
[What is it?]
"Do you know who Clementine is?"
After a brief pause, it replied:
[Her image has flooded your mind, so it’s hard to miss.]
I let out a chuckle.
"Great. Then can you fly over to her and tell her I’m sorry for being late? Also... tell Clementine and the other two about our findings here."
Morr flapped its wings, landing atop the chandelier and staring down at me.
[Everything?]
"Including what I’m about to do, yes."
[...]
Instead of replying, Morr simply vanished.
Though I could feel its energy flying rapidly back toward Clementine, and because of that, I exhaled a relieved breath.
Then, I approached the pharmacy’s door and opened it slightly.
I saw the elf from earlier pacing around.
Once she saw me, a hopeful look appeared on her face.
"Were you able to cure them?"
Ah...
"I’m sorry."
Her expression turned a little sad.
"That’s fine... I was just grasping at straws anyway. Thank you for your time."
"That’s not what I meant."
Circling the Black Lightning through my body, I stared at a small black cluster of lightning overhead that resembled a pyramid.
Then, with a single thought, the pyramid vanished from the sky and crashed straight into the very center of the village, collapsing all the nearby buildings as the shockwave blew everything and everyone away.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
When the shockwave was only a few meters away from me, I closed my eyes and waited.
Waited...
And waited.
Once I felt like I waited enough, I opened my eyes and observed the destruction around me.
All the buildings were gone, and there was a crater at least a kilometer wide and at least 10 meters deep in front of me.
Or rather, below me, as I floated and observed everything with a cold, detached expression.
But since the night was still young, there’s no reason for me to waste time.
So with that thought in mind, I turned into black lightning and went on to search for other villages.
