Transmigrated into a reversed world-Chapter 263: Stop dawdling and tell me what you want
They reached the island at dawn, and some early risers had begun stirring in their beds, while others kept sleeping.
Kyle was gently nudged awake. He rubbed his eyes, surprised he had fallen asleep.
“Do you want me to carry you, or can you walk out yourself?” Cyra asked, stretching her hands forward as if she planned to do so.
Kyle quickly scrambled out of his seat, almost stumbling over another seat. “No need!’’ he shouted and disappeared, using his vampire speed—right for once.
Cyra lowered her hands, a slight smirk curling her lips as she remembered Kyle’s flustered expression. She headed straight to the mansion, massaging her neck and yawning drowsily as the morning rays touched her skin. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
Inside, she washed away the grime and blood. Water streamed down her body, and she closed her eyes, a peaceful calm settling over her.
After turning off the shower, she dried her hair and put on cotton shorts and a loose top before climbing into bed.
“You’re back,” Zane whispered hoarsely, feeling her presence surround him before she pulled him into her embrace.
“Hmm, but I feel it wouldn’t end here,” Cyra responded as she pressed a kiss to his nape. “Whatever happens, the island... our home won’t be destroyed. Sleep,” she promised, though she didn’t take that woman seriously; she didn’t want Zane to feel sad ever again because of their home.
Zane’s sluggish mind cleared at her words; he didn’t know what had happened, but he trusted Cyra’s promises more. “Alright. See you tonight. I have to taste the ice cream our island’s making.”
“Don’t eat too much. Wake me if you need anything.” Cyra muttered, drawing him closer as she closed her eyes to sleep.
Zane hid his guilty expression behind the bedcovers and hummed in response. ‘Just two bowls won’t hurt.’
He reassured himself, and the guilt eased. He set an alarm, then closed his eyes and drifted to sleep.
...
Louis recorded the issues he noticed after yesterday’s tasting.
He had to tweak the ingredients a bit for the juice and ice cream; the dried fruit was a success.
“Add in three gallons of milk, the blueberries should be reduced..." Louis instructed one of the staff members, who was pouring in the ingredients into the ice cream machine.
He moved among the busy staff, giving instructions on what to add or take out. Time went by, and a batch of ice cream was produced.
Zane arrived just in time, pushing the tent flap open as he entered.
Four machines were in use, their hums echoing as the sweet scent of finished product wafted through the air. His mouth watered as his gaze darted to the dispensers, where thick streams of different-colored ice cream flowed.
“Boss, you’re here! We just finished the first batch!” Louis shouted over the machine hum from the other end of the room.
He jogged over to Zane, carrying a clean, empty small bowl.
“You can use this to taste any flavor you want... please tell me if anything is missing that the ice cream at the supermarket has," Louis requested humbly as he handed the bowl to Zane.
He took the bowl calmly, not trying to seem eager, but inwardly he already saw himself standing in front of the ice cream dispenser.
“Alright.” He nodded and stepped forward at a relaxed pace, reached the machine, set down his bowl, and pressed a button.
His eyes glowed brightly as the thick pink liquid flowed into his bowl; he didn’t press the button to stop, waiting until his bowl was full before reluctantly turning it off.
Louis watched nervously as Zane took a spoonful. ‘Did I add too much milk? Was the mix of fruits wrong? He panicked while waiting for Zane’s verdict.
Zane almost let out a moan as the fruitiness burst across his tongue. It was a perfect balance of fruit and sweetness—utterly delicious.
He had to fight the urge to wolf down the rest of the ice cream in his bowl.
Zane put down his spoon after a third taste and turned to the tense Louis with an approving smile.
“It’s perfect. Don’t add or subtract anything from this...none of the ones sold at the supermarket is as rich as this.” He sincerely praised Louis before walking away to eat his ice cream without any pretense.
“Really! Yes!” Louis punched wildly in the air, unable to contain his happiness.
He performed a quick dance of joy before he regained his composure when he felt the gazes on him.
“Cough...go back to work,” Louis snapped with an embarrassed blush. He hurried out of the tent to find Mira, eager to share the good news.
Leaving the tent, Zane had a stomach stuffed with ice cream. He hadn’t been able to control himself and had eaten more than two bowls.
He belched softly, rubbing his stomach with an uncomfortable grimace, too full to take another step.
He planned to walk around to help his digestion, but unfortunately, he ran into Viktor along the way.
Before he could react, Viktor snapped a picture of him, capturing his slightly bulging stomach and the look of pain on his face.
“Ha, you’ve finally fallen into my hands today. With this evidence, Cyra will put two and two together and realize you indulged during the ice cream tasting. Viktor clicked his tongue, a sly smirk spreading across his face as he watched Zane’s eyes flicker with fear.
“What do you want?” Zane asked in a helpless tone, giving up reasoning with Viktor, knowing full well Viktor was still holding a grudge that he didn’t play the virtual game with him.
A broad smile appeared on Viktor’s face, and he showed it openly.
“Oh~ what do I want? Hmm, this is going to be interesting.” Viktor giggled to himself as he zoomed in on Zane’s picture on the screen, admiring his snapping skills.
Zane clenched his fist, suppressing the urge to punch the annoying smile off Viktor’s face. He blamed himself for not being more careful—for letting Viktor gain leverage over him.
“Stop dawdling and tell me what you want,” Zane snapped, his satisfaction from earlier replaced with frustration.
“No rush. I need to think about how to enjoy this to the fullest,” Viktor said with a giggle, turning to leave as a catchy hum escaped his lips.
Zane watched his retreating back with a dagger-filled gaze, wishing he’d beaten Viktor senseless to erase the picture—but the thought of Viktor’s secret room made him hesitate. Viktor might enjoy the pain instead.
Zane shivered, getting goosebumps as he imagined his thoughts turning into reality.
He shook his head, attempting to erase the image from his mind.
Zane quickly hurried back to the mansion before someone popped out from the trees and took another picture of him.
He hoped Viktor would ask for anything embarrassing or exaggerated.
...
“Now the ice cream stage is over, now it’s left for packaging and branding it before we distribute,” Mira muttered to herself, her body light with excitement at their fast pace.
Seeing that she was lost in her calculations and arrangements, Louis felt it was time to leave.
“I need to go make adjustments to the juice flavor. Bye!” Louis waved and skipped out of the room.
Mira was so absorbed in her ideas that she didn’t notice Louis had left the office.
