Transmigrated into a reversed world-Chapter 267: Excuse me, is this seat taken?
The early morning sun filtered through the leaves, and Kyle woke up with a smile on his face.
He hummed as he did his stretches and swam for an hour in his space.
His tail glided through the water, his waist thrusting back and forth as he danced to the music in his head.
Yesterday’s selection of whips and cuffs has kept me in a good mood since then, and today the interior design team will build the playroom.
Fishes swarmed past; if they could speak, they would have yelled at him to tone down his dance; it was an eyesore.
Viktor felt refreshed after finishing his swim, washing up, and getting ready for the day.
Pain hissed with its baffled gaze on Viktor and couldn’t help but ask in a hopeful tone, “Master...hiss...did you win a lottery? Are we rich, or did you get rid of all your enemies while I was sleeping?”
Viktor’s hand on the door handle paused briefly before he chose to ignore Pain’s question—he didn’t want to ruin his mood by answering such stupid questions.
Pain wasn’t displeased about being ignored but looked at Viktor with a questioning gaze, wanting to know what put him in such a good mood.
Viktor locked the door and went downstairs for his breakfast when Kyle suddenly blocked his path.
“F*ck! Why do you look as pale as a ghost? Or maybe you’re one, since you appeared silently." Viktor patted his chest, noticing how pale Kyle was—quite different from his usual skin tone.
“Did you torture the previous assassin? I need her employer’s name. I need to settle a debt," Kyle asked, getting straight to the point, too lazy to bother with small talk.
Viktor paused for a moment. He did torture one woman who seemed to have given him an answer quite different from others, which almost slipped his mind.
“I did. But it would cost you if you want information," Viktor responded with a light smile, gesturing by rubbing a finger and thumb together.
Kyle frowned, annoyed by his smug smile—it was so grating to his eyes that he almost punched Viktor in the face.
He took deep breaths, slightly adjusted his collar, and regained his composure.
“How much?”
“Heh, do I look starving to you? I need your skills instead, though not right now," Viktor retorted, feeling insulted by Kyle’s assumptions.
“Then, why the blood...ahh...why did you rub your fingers like that earlier?” Kyle took deep breaths to keep himself from cursing.
Viktor shrugged at the question. “Felt like it. Anyway, I’ll send you the person’s name after I’m done with breakfast. Bye~”
He uttered these words and brushed past the stunned Kyle.
Kyle punched the wall beside him in anger. Taking deep breaths, he straightened his cuffs as his expression returned to normal.
Zane watched the lecture on the hologram screen with heavy eyelids.
The teacher’s words sounded like gibberish in his mind; he muffled the third yawn since the start of class.
His eyes kept wandering, wishing the class would be over quickly. Sadly, thirty minutes remained.
He got to his feet and stretched to clear his head before taking a sip of his fruit juice and sitting back down to listen.
Time passed, and an alarm went off, startling Zane, who had slept unknowingly.
He wiped the drool from the corner of his lips and checked the hologram screen to see that the class had ended five minutes ago.
“Sigh...I would have to read the textbooks later,” Zane muttered, a tired sigh leaving his lips.
Yawning, he got to his feet and turned off his hologram screen.
“Knock.”
A knock came from the slightly open door. He looked over to see the chef’s figure.
“Master, should I serve your lunch?” the chef asked when she noticed Zane’s gaze on her.
“Hmm, serve it in the greenhouse,” Zane was instructed before leaving the study; he planned to browse the nexus while he ate.
On his way, he saw Kyle’s listless figure from a distance and wondered why he didn’t just sleep like Cyra instead of tormenting himself under the sun.
He shook his head and walked toward the greenhouse; he could already see the flowers through the glass.
‘Maybe I might get some inspiration here.’ He had mostly been painting desolate landscapes.
“I should log in to the game today." Zane realized he had forgotten to take revenge on the gamer who had almost blown him up last time.
With those thoughts in mind, he ate his food.
...
Evening arrived, and the interior designer for the room showed up, turning the once quiet mansion a little noisy.
Kyle, at that moment, was boarding the boat off the island, heading to the city lord’s residence.
He wondered why the city lord’s husband wanted him dead, just for the little beating he gave her disrespectful guards.
Kyle shook his head, clearing his thoughts as he enjoyed the sea breeze whipping his hair back.
“Excuse me, is this seat taken?” An unfamiliar tone interrupted his peaceful moment.
He turned, his gaze falling on the tall, blue-haired woman in a slit black gown.
“It’s taken.” Kyle lied calmly, leaving the box he had brought on the seat.
The woman chuckled softly at his lie; her eyes had been on him when he first boarded the boat, and she knew it was his box.
“I’m Marissa. What’s yours?” she introduced herself, her gaze flickering with interest at such a handsome man.
She sat in an empty chair next to the chair holding his box.
“Collin,” Kyle responded in a bland tone, his expression showing rejection, but the woman pretended not to notice and kept trying to start a conversation with him.
“Do you know any fun places around here? I just came back from Desire Island from a friend’s wedding...” She kept on talking with a smile, undeterred by Kyle’s lack of response.
Kyle’s ears buzzed with her ramblings; he thought she would get the hint that he wanted to be alone and leave.
So he did the next best thing to give his ears some peace. He struck the back of her neck, and the woman slumped in the chair, unconscious.
Kyle sighed in relief and leaned back in his seat to enjoy the peaceful view of the ocean.
Two hours went by quickly, and the boat arrived at the shore.
Kyle grabbed his box and walked away, unconcerned about the woman, knowing she would wake up soon.
He tapped on his hologram screen, looking for a taxi to take him to the city lord’s estate.
After paying for a driverless car, he waited a few minutes until a silver car stopped in front of him. The door opened for him to enter, and he accepted the ride on his hologram screen.
He entered the destination and leaned back in his seat as the car took him there.
The views outside his window flashed past, the train riding up through the suspended train tracks.
Hover cars flew past in their designated lane to prevent accidents and delays.
The city buzzed with life and neon lights, leaving Kyle a bit disoriented and unaccustomed—he was used to the Island’s peaceful environment.
Hours passed, and Kyle reached his destination. He looked out at the brightly lit estate ahead and stretched, his neck cracking ominously in the dark.
