Transmigrated: Stealing the CEO husband-Chapter 28: New tasks
Chapter 28 - New tasks
Before sleeping that night, Ariel checked the system.
'Main task: Go on a date with President Luiss. Completed.
Reward: In inventory.
Main task: Have Elias have a positive impression of his sister: Completed.
Reward: In inventory.'
She checked the reward like an eager kid opening Christmas gifts.
'Main task: Date with President Luiss: Reward: Obsession in male lead Buff
Main Task: Have Elias have a good impression of his elder sister. Completed. Reward: List of likes and dislikes of Elias.'
While Ariana was happy to be handed the list of Elias's likes and dislikes, she wasn't quite thrilled with the "Obsession in Male Lead" buff. President Luiss was a powerful and influential man, and today, he had already shown her a glimpse of his possessiveness. Having someone like him obsessed with her—she wasn't sure if it was a blessing or a curse. Was this truly an advantage, or had she just walked into a dangerous game with stakes far higher than she had anticipated?
'Ting
Ting
Ting'
A series of sharp chimes reverberated in her head, forcing her to snap back to reality.
'New main task: Sleep with the male lead.
Time Period: One month
Penalty: Elimination
New main task: Go out on a dinner with Elias.
Time limit: One week
Penalty: Removal of attraction buff on President Luiss.'
"Attraction Buff?" she murmured to herself, unable to fully grasp its significance. "Is it still activated?"

The system, ever watchful, responded immediately.
'Attraction Buff: It is a permanent change in the thoughts of the target rather than a one-time, useable buff.'
Ariana frowned, still uncertain about its true implications. While she was trying to decipher its effects, on the other hand, a certain someone was completely losing his mind over her.
The kiss.
The touch.
The taste of her lips.
The scent of her intimacy.
That night, Luiss couldn't get even the slightest bit of sleep. Every time he closed his eyes, her face appeared in his mind—a familiar yet unfamiliar woman who had somehow become an addiction. It was like a drug coursing through his veins, and he needed to do something about it.
Luiss had always prided himself on being a man of discipline. He wasn't someone who broke workplace ethics, nor was he the kind to entangle himself with women who worked under him. But Ariana... she was different. She was irresistible to him. He just couldn't stop himself. There was something about her—something that made him lose his mind and deviate from his usual structured routine.
...
"Luiss, there is a matter that requires your counsel."
Mrs. Wellingston asked Luiss, expecting his atttenton
"Do whatever seems fit to you," Luiss said nonchalantly, waving her off without even lifting his gaze from the dining table. His mind was elsewhere, preoccupied with thoughts of Ariana.
A soft sigh followed as a familiar voice spoke up next.
"Luiss, my dear. You keep yourself so busy with company projects all the time. It's time you started thinking about your personal life and settling down with a family of your own."
Mrs. Wellington, his mother, had always been persistent about this matter. Today was no exception.
Luiss remained silent, his thoughts still circling around a certain someone, the scent of her perfume lingering in his memory.
"Speaking of which," his mother continued, "not just anyone can marry you. It has to be a woman of outstanding moral standing and a family background worthy of the Wellington name."
Mrs. Wellington keenly observed Luiss's reaction, but he remained indifferent, his sharp features betraying no emotion.
Emboldened, she carried on. "You have heard of the daughter of President Whitakar, Lucia. I have met her on a few occasions, and she seems to me like a woman of class and etiquette. Well-versed in all four arts, she is someone who knows how to make a home. She truly impressed me with her intelligence and grace."
Still, Luiss showed little interest, his expression unreadable. Anxious at his lack of response, Mrs. Wellington turned to her husband, Benjamin Wellington, for reinforcement. "What do you say, Benjamin?"
Benjamin nodded in agreement. "The girl is beautiful, humble, and sophisticated. Someone like her would be the perfect match for our Luiss."
"Why look for 'someone like her' when we can have her? Why not Lucia herself?" Mrs. Wellington pressed, hoping to elicit a response from her son.
She turned to him again, expecting enthusiasm, but found him still lost in his thoughts.
"Luiss!" she finally snapped in frustration.
"Yes?" Luiss blinked as if waking from a trance and looked at his mother. "You were saying something?"
"Gosh! Where do you disappear to all the time? If you've taken time out for us, at least be mentally present here!"
"I understand. I apologize," he said with a small nod before continuing. "A lot is happening in the company. I have to figure those things out."
"That's exactly my point," Mrs. Wellington stressed, leaning forward with determination. "You need a wife and a stable home—somewhere you can relax after long days of work. So what do you think about this girl, Lucia?"
For the first time, Luiss seemed to hesitate. But it wasn't because he was considering Lucia. No, his mind was still consumed by Ariana—the woman who had turned his world upside down.
A slight smirk tugged at the corner of his lips, unnoticed by his parents. If only they knew the kind of storm raging inside him, they wouldn't be so calm.
