The opening of the resort was just some days away and Yang Meiyi wanted everything to go perfectly but before going to the resort, Yang Meiyi stopped at the hospital to collect her test result.

Yang Meiyi met with the kind nurse who drew her blood for the test and said "I’m here to collect the test result."

"Yang Meiyi, right? The result should be with the doctor, when you see a patient leaving that office, you can go in."

Yang Meiyi looked at the big brown door that the nurse was pointing to her and nodded.

She sat in the waiting area and when a young man whom she assumed was a patient came out of the door, she knocked slightly and entered.

Yang Meiyi sat on the seat opposite the doctor and said "I’m Yang Meiyi, the nurse told me to meet you for my test result. Is everything all right? At first, I thought I just had the flu but that wouldn’t be the case if my test result is with the doctor and not a nurse, I’m not too sick, am I?"

The doctor who is a middle-aged man smiled warmly and said "No, you are not sick." He collected a test paper on his desk and said "In fact, you are very healthy and you must remain so not just for yourself but for your baby as well."

"W-What baby?"

"You are pregnant Mrs Fu." The doctor said with a smile.

Pregnant? No, she can’t be pregnant, not when Fu Mingze has just talked of adopting a child. It’s all her fault, if she had known about Fu Mingze’s fears then she would have never lied about being on birth control and now she was pregnant.

"Are you sure I’m pregnant? It could just be the flu."

"I assure you that it isn’t. You are pregnant but you don’t seem excited about this."

"I’m excited, I just don’t think my husband will share in this excitement."

"Well, I think regardless of the circumstances, a child is always a blessing. I will recommend you to a good gynecologist, ensure you do a thorough check-up with her." The doctor said and folded the test result in a white envelope before handing it to her.

"Thank you, doctor." Yang Meiyi said as she collected the test result and left the hospital. She placed a hand on her belly and suddenly smiled, she couldn’t believe that there was a child currently growing on her belly but thinking of Fu Mingze made her smile falter, she wondered how he would feel when he found out that she had not only lied about taking birth control pills but she was also pregnant.

Needing to take her mind off things, Yang Meiyi went to the resort and worked herself to the bones, things employees could do, she ended up doing them and before she finished with the resort, it was nightfall.

As soon as Yang Meiyi came out of the resort, she received a call from Fu Mingze.

"Where are you?" Hearing his soft and gentle voice brought a fresh wave of guilt to her. She remembered the fear in his eyes when he told her that he didn’t want his child to live on drugs. Placing a hand on her belly she wondered if this child might end up having heart issues as well.

"Does your belly hurt?"

"What?" Yang Meiyi looked to her right and saw him walking towards her.

"You are here?" Yang Meiyi asked as she ended the call and watched Fu Mingze walking closer to her.

Fu Mingze smiled softly and said, "I was worried."

"Worried?"

"I hadn’t heard from you since morning and whenever I spoke to you, you sounded jumpy and the fact that you were supposed to collect the test result today didn’t help matters. So tell me, how was it?"

"How was what?"

"The result, what did it say?"

Yang Meiyi chuckles nervously and said "The result says I’m fine. I told you I’m all right, it’s just the flu."

Fu Mingze suddenly embraced her and said "I’m glad you are all right. When my mom got sick, she never told me until it was too late, whenever I would ask her how her visit to the doctor went, she would smile at me and tell me she was fine so forgive me if it feels like I’m being too pushy."

Yang Meiyi smiled and wrapped her hands around him saying "It’s okay."

"You haven’t eaten, right? There is an Italian restaurant that recently opened, should we try it out?" Fu Mingze asked with a smile.

Yang Meiyi nodded and allowed him to lead her to his car.

Italian Restaurant.

Fu Mingze ordered pasta with meatballs for her and Yang Meiyi was excited to finally eat something a nice meal after a hectic day at the resort but when the food came before her, the urge to throw up became even stronger than any desire to eat.

"Are you all right?" Fu Mingze asked when he saw Yang Meiyi covering her nose.

"I’m fine but I don’t think this pasta is a good idea, can we go somewhere else?"

Fu Mingze frowned and asked, "You didn’t lie to me when you told me the test result came out fine, right?"

Seeing the frown and concern on his face, Yang Meiyi did not even know where the tears had broken, in front of everyone sitting in that restaurant, Meiyi burst into tears and the only words that left her mouth were "I’m sorry."

Even though, Fu Mingze didn’t know what she was apologizing for, he stood up, walked towards her, and pulled her into his embrace while gently patting her back.

Yang Meiyi could not believe she cried in front of so many people in a restaurant that had just opened.

"Here." Fu Mingze said as he handed her a can of water before sitting beside her on the bench.

Yang Meiyi drank the water and felt slightly better, she looked at her husband who had been oddly silent, and said "The test result came back all right. I am healthy but...."

"But what?"

"Promise me you won’t hate me."

Fu Mingze looked at her amusedly and said "I think we have both established the fact that me hating you is impossible. So tell me, what happened?"

"I’m pregnant."
