Fu Mingze brought Fu Liang to his office and gently sat him up on the couch, he wiped away his son’s tears and asked "Are you planning to be an actor when you grow up? I can’t believe you were able to cry real tears."

Hearing his father’s words, Fu Liang immediately stopped crying and smiled sheepishly.

Fu Mingze laughed and found himself dragging his son’s cheek "You naughty boy. Tell me how was school today?"

Fu Liang smiled and said, "My teacher praised me for being a smart boy." His smile faltered as he said, "If Mom was here she would have been so proud of me, right Dad?"

"You are right, she would have been. Knowing your mother, she would have taken you to your favorite place to celebrate. I miss her too Fu Liang, I miss her so much."

Fu Liang hugged his father and patted his back as a way of comforting him as he said "Fu Liang will take care of you."

Fu Mingze laughed and looked at his son who was smiling at him. "Are you hungry?"

Fu Liang immediately nodded but then shook his head.

"Don’t worry, it will just be the two of us, Ye Qingyi won’t be joining us, so let’s go." Fu Mingze said as he held out his hand for Fu Liang to hold.

Fu Liang held his father’s hand with a smile and asked "After lunch, can I get my favorite ice cream?"

"Yes, but only one." Fu Mingze replied with a soft laugh.

Ye Qingyi watched from a corner as the father and son duo left the office and scattered her desk in anger. For four years, she has tried everything for that kid to love her but it has all been to no avail.

No matter what she does or says, Fu Liang always finds a way to compare her to that dead woman. What does she have to do to make that kid like her, an idea suddenly came to mind and her anger slowly went away as she said "I will take away your son’s love for you Yang Meiyi, even if it’s the last thing I do."

Nie Yujie looked at the pregnancy test in her hands and once again it was negative. For four years both she and Gu Zhen have been trying for a child, but she hasn’t been able to get pregnant.

Even though the doctor said that there was nothing wrong with either her or Gu Zhen, the Gu family has spared no effort in taunting her for being unable to give them a child.

Her mind went to a five-year-old Fu Liang and she wondered why Yang Meiyi was able to give birth so early and easily. It isn’t fair, things have always come easily to Yang Meiyi and she has to fight to get what she wants.

Nie Yujie came out of the bathroom and saw Gu Zhen’s anxious face as he asked "So?"

Nie Yujie shook her head and suddenly burst into tears as she said "I’m sorry."

Gu Zhen pulled her into his arms and said "It’s alright, there is no need to cry, and besides we can always adopt."

"No!" Nie Yujie shouted as she forcefully pulled herself away from Gu Zhen.

"Your grandfather will never accept an adopted child and it won’t stop him from forcing you to take in a mistress."

Gu Zhen frowned and said "But you know I will never do that, I love only you Nie Yujie and I have proved that by fighting against my family for you "

"But can’t you see it isn’t enough, as long as you don’t hold the ultimate power in this family, they will tear us apart sooner rather than later."

"Then what do you want from me!?" Gu Zhen shouted.

Nie Yujie flinched from his loud voice and said "I want you to at least be a little like Fu Mingze."

"What?"

"Take control of the Gu family Gu Zhen, remove power from your grandfather’s hands, and become the head of this family, only then will your decisions be law and our marriage will finally be safe. Think it over, I’m sure even you know what the answer should be." Nie Yujie said and walked out of their room.

Gu Zhen sighed and looked at the small portrait of him and Nie Yujie on their Wedding day, he wondered what had gone wrong in their relationship. To him, she has just changed over the years and there were times when her actions reminded him of Yang Jia. He wondered what had happened to his sweet and lovely Nie Yujie.

Perhaps it’s the stress of not having a child after four years, maybe he should take her on a vacation where both of them will relax and rekindle their love.

"Are you satisfied?" Fu Mingze asked as he and his son came out of the restaurant.

Fu Liang held his ice cream and snacks that were packaged for him to his chest and nodded his head with a smile.

Fu Mingze touched his pocket and could not feel his phone, he looked at his son and said "I think I left my phone inside, stay here and don’t move, okay."

"Ok, Daddy." Fu Liang replied.

He stood obediently without moving an inch when he saw a little girl crying, as she looked at her doll that had fallen on the roadside.

Seeing the little girl’s tears made him worried, so he decided to help her. Fu Liang walked to her and said "My name is Fu Liang, what is your name?"

The girl looked at him with her big brown eyes and continued crying.

Fu Liang scratched his hair at her reaction, he looked at the doll and then at the traffic light. Luckily, Brother Lian had taught him about the traffic light and right now it was showing the green color.

Thinking it was safe to walk, Fu Liang entered the road to collect the little girl doll. He smiled as he took the doll from the floor and waved it to the girl when he heard a loud honking.

Fu Liang looked at the huge car coming towards him and just froze there, it was as if he forgot how to move and the only thing he could do was close his eyes tightly as the car rushed towards him.

With his eyes closed, Fu Liang felt someone carrying him out of the road.

He recognized this scent, he opened his eyes slowly as he softly called out "Daddy?"

Fu Mingze pulled his son away from his embrace as he shouted "Are you out of my mind? What part of Don’t Move did you not understand? What were you even doing in the middle of the road? Do you realize how scared I was?"

Fu Mingze was about to scold his son some more when Fu Liang burst into tears.

At this point, Fu Mingze didn’t know if he should be comforting his son or not but deep within he already knew the answer, if there was one thing, Fu Mingze could not stand was his son’s tears, so he pulled his son into his arms.

A few seconds later, he felt someone tugging on his sleeves and that was when Fu Mingze finally noticed the little girl who was crying as well, before he could ask who she was, the little girl hugged him and cried even louder.

Fu Mingze froze for a moment, he was confused about what to do with the two crying children, so he just embraced them and allowed them to cry still they felt better.

While comforting them, Fu Mingze thought of how terrified he was when he saw his son in the middle of the road and that thought alone made him bring Fu Liang much closer to him, Fu Liang was everything to him and he would die before he allows any harm to come to him.
