"Tao Mei!" A young woman called out as she walked quickly to where the child was seated.

Tao Mei stood up and held Fu Mingze trouser with her small hand and hid behind him.

Seeing her actions, Fu Mingze looked at the woman who was currently standing in front of them and asked "Are you her mother?"

The young woman was first stunned when she saw Fu Mingze, never had she seen such a handsome, mature, and sophisticated man before in her life.

Just who was he? Was he married? Please, let him not be married.

Fu Mingze looked at the woman who had just been staring at him and with a frown he asked again "Are you her mother?"

"What? Mother?" The young lady asked finally returning to her senses, she looked at Fu Mingze and replied "I’m not her mother, infact I am very much single."

"Then who are you to her?"

"My name is Dai Qiao and I’m like her godmother, yes, that’s it, I’m her godmother."

"Then can I see your ID card?" Fu Mingze asked coldly and glanced at the girl who kept clinging tightly to him

Dai Qiao opened her purse and brought out her card.

Fu Mingze looked at it and handed it back to her, he then looked at Tao Mei and asked "Do you know her? Is she your aunt?"

Tao Mei shyly nodded and still hid herself behind him.

"Are you married?" The young woman suddenly asked.

Fu Mingze frowned at that question and said "I don’t see how that concerns you. Next time, you should hire a nanny who wouldn’t lose sight of a three-year-old child, what if something had happened to her?"

The young lady’s expression became serious as she said "I assure you, it won’t happen again. Meimei, say goodbye to the kind gentleman, and let’s go. Don’t worry, your grandpa made me promise not to tell your mom."

Hearing that, Tao Mei slowly came out of her hiding and ran to her aunt.

Dai Qiao hugged the little girl and looked at Fu Mingze saying "We will take our leave now and in case you are interested then I’m unmarried, you can call me if you wish to go on a date."

"My dad isn’t interested." Fu Liang suddenly spoke out. Then he muttered to himself "You aren’t even as pretty as my mom." But his muttering was heard by both Fu Mingze and the woman who looked at Fu Liang with a frown.

How can such a little child be so disrespectful, Dai Qiao looked at Fu Mingze and said "I guess your son needs to learn how to respect elders."

"He respects them just fine, if we are done here,then I’m leaving. Fu Liang, let’s go."

Fu Liang looked at Tao Mei and patted her head before following his dad, they were about to step out of the restaurant when Tao Mei shouted "Daddy."

Fu Mingze froze for a moment when he heard that, he turned and saw Tao Mei looking at him with watery eyes, and with a heavy heart, he opened the door and left without looking back.

After Fu Mingze left, Dai Qiao looked at her niece and asked "Why did you just call him daddy? He isn’t your dad?"

"I know, mommy is both my mom and dad." Tao Mei replied with sadness in her eyes.

"What if I tell you that very soon you will have a real dad? Like that little brat." Dai Qiao said with a smile. She could hardly contain her excitement of her brother proposing to her friend tomorrow.

Tao Mei still looked at the restaurant door and said "I want him to be my dad, him and no one else."

Dao Qiao frowned at that and wondered what was so special about that man? Yes, he was handsome and his eyes were beautiful but still her Tao Mei didn’t get attached to people that easily, what charm did that rude stranger use on her little Tao Mei?

"I promise, you will have a better dad than that rude man. Now we have to go before your grandfather blows up my phone with calls.

Fu Mansion

Fu Mingze drove to the Fu Mansion and rather than getting out of the car, he looked at his son who had been wearing a frown on his face, and asked "What’s wrong?"

Fu Liang looked at his father and said "You were too harsh to Tao Mei, you didn’t even tell her goodbye." Fu Liang finally expressed his complaint.

Fu Mingze sighed and said "What use would that have been? Tao Mei is just three years old, kids her age get attached too easily and there would have been no need for her to get attached to us because we wouldn’t be seeing her again."

"But I like being a big brother though, it was cool." Fu Liang said with a slight smile on his face.

He then looked at his father with litted eyes as an idea came to his mind.

"Dad, why don’t we adopt Tao Mei?"

"What? No, of course we can’t ." Fu Mingze immediately said.

Fu Liang pouted his lips and went back to sulking when he heard Fu Mingze saying.

"Tao Mei has a family of her own and we can’t just take her away from her family. How would you feel if someone were to take you away from me and Grandpa?"

"I will feel very sad."

"Exactly, that’s how Tao Mei would feel if we took her away from her family." Fu Mingze said.

"And besides, I already have the most cutest and adorable son in the whole world and I’m very satisfied with that." Fu Mingze added as he moved to tickle Fu Liang.

Fu Liang’s giggle turned into laughter as he said "Dad enough, no more tickle."

Fu Mingze laughed softly and ruffled his son’s hair as he said "You know I love you, right?"

Fu Liang nodded and said "And I love you very much, Dad. But when we go visit Mommy, let’s not tell her or else she might get jealous."

Fu Mingze smiled and nodded, "Alright, it will be our secret. Go meet your grandfather, I will be there shortly, and remember...."

"No running." Fu Liang completed with a smile.

Fu Mingze chuckled and said, "Go."

Fu Liang left the car with his ice cream and snacks but ended up forgetting his school bag, Fu Mingze looked at it and sighed as he rested his head on the steering wheel.

He was exhausted in many ways but as his mind drifted to Tao Mei, he found himself smiling. He just hoped the Tao family wouldn’t be irresponsible with her again, what if someone had kidnapped her?

Fu Mingze stayed in his car for a few more minutes before finally coming out to join his son and grandfather inside the house and he wasn’t even surprised when he heard his son boasting about how someone called him big brother today.

"You don’t understand, he was both handsome and rude, he has a kid but I have a feeling that he isn’t married." Dai Qiao said with a dreamy look in her eyes.

When Dai Qiao heard nothing from her friend, she looked at the young woman sitting beside her and snapped her fingers "Were you even listening to me?"

The young lady blinked her eyes and said "Yes, yes I was. You were talking of this handsome man who was rude yet very handsome, but Dai Qiao, you find everyone to be handsome."

"No Tao Luqi, he is different. He has these rare blue eyes and goodness, he exudes this manly and seductive aura. I know you think this is a joke but I think I’m in love."

Tao Luqi laughed at her friend and said "I fired the nanny and reported the agency."

Dai Qiao sighed and said "You are always so harsh. How is it the nanny’s fault that your daughter ran away when she wasn’t looking?"

"But why wasn’t she looking, what if someone had kidnapped my daughter?"

"Your daughter was quite cozy with the blue-eyed man and his son, she kept calling him daddy, but that rude man dared to ignore her."

"She called him daddy?" Tao Luqi asked in surprise.

Dai Qiao smiled and said, "Even your daughter couldn’t resist his charm."

Tao Luqi nodded her head "Dad has told me that I was never in a fire accident and that I lost my memory in a car accident but I find it strange that I have been dreaming of being surrounded by fire for four years."

"It is Indeed strange but I think your father wouldn’t lie to you, you and I both know that he loves you and Tao Mei a lot." Dai Qiao said.

Tao Luqi smile and said "I know. I usually dream of this when I am stressed and lately, I have been stressed. The annual business award is coming soon and everyone wants a cloth designed by Luqi."

"But you don’t accept people that easily, I still remember the time you turned down the president’s wife." Dai Qiao said with a laugh.

"This time it’s different, there is this woman who has been consistent in sending me emails since last year. She said she wants both her engagement and wedding gown to be designed by me, normally I would reject but due to her consistency, I have decided to accept."

"She must love your designs, who is she?"

"I think her name is Ye Qingyi."
