"Mrs Gu sent a huge amount of money to this account." Ji Lai said to his boss as he placed a paper containing an account number on Gu Zhen’s desk.

"And who owns this account?" Gu Zhen asks with a frown.

Ji Lai brought out a picture from his suit jacket and placed it in front of Gu Zhen.

It was a picture of a man who wore a cap to cover his place. Gu Zhen looked at it and asked "So this is him?"

"Yes sir."

"What kind of instructions does my wife give to him?"

"Lately he has been following Miss Tao Luqi around."

"Tao Luqi? And who is that?"

"A young woman that bears a significant resemblance to the late Mrs Fu. She is the daughter of Tao Hui, the Chinese businessman who relocated to Country M not too long ago."

"Why did she pay someone to follow Tao Luqi around? Is it because she thinks Tao Luqi is Yang Meiyi? But that’s absurd, we all saw Yang Meiyi’s burnt body so there is no way she is alive."

Ji Lai was silent for a moment before he said "Even if Tao Luqi is Yang Meiyi, I don’t see how it concerns Mrs Gu to the point that she would a man with a criminal record unless...."

"Unless what?" Gu Zhen asked with a frown

"Unless she had a hand in the late Mrs Fu kidnapping. There must be a reason Mr Fu has been watching Mrs Gu for the past four years and there must also be a reason you never stopped or confronted him about it." Ji Lai stated.

Gu Zhen closed his eyes for a moment and when he opened it, he coldly said "Starting from today, I want you to watch Nie Yujie every action and report to me. There is something I wish to confirm about my wife."

Ji Lai bowed slightly and said, "Yes sir."

"Mummy!" Tao Mei and Fu Liang both shouted as soon as they saw their mother.

Tao Luqi crouched down and hugged both kids, she gave them each a kiss and asked "Did you miss mummy, or was Mr Fu a better company than your mother?"

Fu Mingze laughed and said "Are you still bitter about the fact that the kids admitted that I’m a better cook than you?

Tao Luqi scoffed and said to Tao Mei "Show Fu Liang your room, I ordered new toys for the both of you."

Tao Mei nodded excitedly and led Fu Liang to her room.

"They are so cute." Tao Luqi said after watching Tao Mei enter her room with eagerness.

"Yes, they are." Fu Mingze replied with a smile. He looked at the house and said "Your house is quite cozy."

"It’s kind of similar to yours, right?" Tao Luqi said. Though she has been to his house only once, she still remembered how it was.

Fu Mingze nodded and said "Yeah, it is similar."

Tao Luqi looked away from him as she said "Thank you once again for taking care of Tao Mei and for taking me to the hospital when I lost consciousness."

Fu Mingze smiled as he asked, "Are you only going to thank me with words."

"Then how else should I thank you?" Tao Luqi asked, looking at Fu Mingze curiously.

Without answering, Fu Mingze suddenly placed his palm on her forehead and sighed in relief at her normal temperature, he then asked "Did the doctor prescribe any medication for you?"

Tao Luqi slightly blushed at his action and said "No, he only advised me to rest and not to stress myself too much."

Fu Mingze nodded and said, "Then you can’t fully pay me yet, however, you can give me half payment."

"Half payment? That’s no problem, how much do you need?"

Fu Mingze laughed softly and walked closer to her as he said "Not money sweetheart."

"Then what?" Tao Luqi asked, she felt as if she truly knew what he wanted and hated herself for wishing that her thought would become a reality. Her tongue subconsciously licked her lips as he held her chin forcing her to look at him.

Fu Mingze inhaled quietly and rested his forehead on hers as he whispered "Throughout the night we were talking, the only thing on my mind was how I could get you alone and kiss you and not just your lips but every part of you. Do you have any idea how the thought of you kept me awake throughout the night?"

"Why were you thinking about me when you already have a fiancee?" Tao Luqi asked angrily. Even she did not know why she felt angry but just remembering how Ye Qingyi held Fu Mingze’s arm made her feel so pissed off.

Fu Mingze chuckled as he asked "Is that jealousy I hear in your voice."

"O-of course not, I just....." Once again, Tao Luqi felt his lips on hers before she could complete her statement but unlike before when she fought him before giving in, this time was different, there was not a single fight in her as she kissed him back greedily, wanting more of him.

Fu Mingze pulled her closer and bit her lips gently, wanting to deepen the kiss when the doorbell rang.

"Mingze." Tao Luqi called out softly.

"Ignore it." Fu Mingze replied as he moved his lips to her neck, trailing kisses down her neck.

Tao Luqi moaned softly as Fu Mingze sucked on the sensitive flesh on her neck, she felt his hand rides up her gown and moved to her thigh when the doorbell rang again.

Fu Mingze whose lips had already traveled to her chest cursed loudly as he heard the doorbell ring for the third time.

He looked at Tao Luqi who was breathing heavily and asked "Is it possible to pretend that you are not home."

Tao Luqi finds herself laughing as she says "I don’t think that will work, my car is outside."

Seeing her swollen lips and disravel appearance, Fu Mingze felt a new surge of desire, however, the ringing of the doorbell was able to wake him up from it.

He leaned in to kiss her briefly before pulling away.

Tao Luqi closed her eyes when he kissed her forehead and stayed there for a few seconds before moving away and said "This isn’t over, you still haven’t completely thanked me. Go see who is at the door while I check on the kids, hopefully, it’s just an annoying neighbor who wants to borrow something from you."

Tao Luqi nodded and held his arm when he was about to go check on the kids "No one should know."

"Know what? That we are attracted to each other and we kissed?" Fu Mingze asked with a frown.

Tao Luqi looked at Fu Mingze’s blue eyes as she said "Yes, please let it just be between the two of us."

Fu Mingze frowned when he heard her request, he slowly removed his arm from hers and said "Fine, I will be your secret but of course at a price."

Tao Luqi was about to ask what price when the doorbell rang again.

"Go check who is at the door, we will continue this conversation later." Fu Mingze said and went to check on his children.

Tao Luqi sighed and arranged her hair and dress, she breathed in deeply before opening the door and was surprised to see who it was.

"What took you so long to answer? You got me so worried to the point that I was even about to call your landlord for the spare key. I thought something must have happened to you."

"Dad? What are you doing here? Aren’t you supposed to be on a business trip?" Tao Luqi asked, hoping that this was all a dream and that her father wasn’t standing in front of her.
