Transmigration; Married to My Ex-Fiancé's Uncle-Chapter 333; Lin family 12
"You’re evil," Yuyan said, but she was grinning.
"I prefer ’strategically vindictive,’" Shuyin corrected. She turned to Chen Xiao, her expression softening. "Are you done eating, sweetheart?"
The little boy nodded, his plate nearly empty.
"Good. Why don’t you and Yuyan go up to the room? I’ll come check on you in a bit."
"Okay!" Chen Xiao slid off his chair. "That was the best dinner ever! Even if everyone else was being weird."
Yuyan took his hand, leading him out of the dining room. As they passed the hallway where the Lin family was recovering, they could hear Chen Madam’s weak voice: "Call a doctor... We’ve been poisoned..."
And Lin Yueling’s sobbing: "The baby... What if it hurt the baby..."
Once the children were gone, Lu Yuze turned to Shuyin. "Don’t you think you’re being reckless?" After all, aside from them, the entire Lin family was sick and couldn’t eat.
"Even if they knew, what could they do? By tomorrow, I’ll be fine and my depleted magic will be restored."
"You! Sigh!" He sighed loudly, not knowing how to deal with her. Anyway, she had a mind of her own.
"Relax! Why get worked up when we have guards and shadow guards positioned all over this mansion? It’s not like they would try to assassinate me..." If they really wanted to, they would have to make plans, but it wouldn’t be tonight.
A servant appeared hesitantly at the door. "Miss Shuyin? The master asks if you and Mr. Lu require anything else?"
"We’re quite satisfied, thank you," Shuyin said pleasantly. "Please give my regards to the chef. The meal was exceptional."
The servant bowed and retreated, clearly relieved to escape the strange atmosphere.
"They already can’t handle just this!" She sighed, getting up and looking at the empty seats, wondering how much they could take.
She stood from her seat and Lu Yuze immediately swept her up in his arms. Shuyin was caught off guard, wrapping her hands around his neck and her legs around his waist.
"What are you doing?" Her eyes darted around, but she couldn’t see anyone.
"What’s there to care about?" He kissed her passionately as they headed to their guest bedroom. Along the hallway, the lights were suddenly turned off, Ting Fei’s work, definitely.
"Concentrate here..." He whispered as he nibbled her ear, moving down her neck.
"You... You..." She was trying to maintain the identity of a nanny, but now! The house had several hidden security cameras.
"Don’t worry... We’re already in control of the CCTV cameras and all the security..." But he couldn’t be too careless around her. She was his woman.
Suddenly, a cry tore through the mansion. They returned to the sitting area, not understanding what was happening when they had just left there moments ago.
"Mother, there’s a snake in there... So many snakes!" Lin Yueling shrieked. Madam Chen hugged her, trying to comfort her.
"Let’s go and see..." Madam Chen was frightened, and so was Lin Feng, who stood there speechless.
"Mother... No! Don’t!" She hugged her mother, frightened.
"What happened?" Lin Shuyin’s voice rang out as they rushed over.
Madam Chen left her daughter and rushed to slap Shuyin, but Lu Yuze kicked her away and she fell onto the floor without dignity.
Lin Feng rushed to pick her up.
"This is your doing! We have been peaceful, but when you just came back, everything became chaotic... You cursed witch..."
"I will deal with you today!"
But before Madam Chen could lunge forward, Lin Yueling let out a sharp cry, her face contorting in pain.
"Ahh!" She doubled over, both hands clutching her swollen belly. "It hurts... Mother, it hurts!"
The anger on Madam Chen’s face immediately transformed into panic. She spun around, rushing back to her daughter. "Yueling! What’s wrong? What is it?"
"The baby..." Lin Yueling gasped, her face pale and sweating. "I’m having cramps... sharp pains..."
Lin Feng’s face went white. His precious daughter, his illegitimate daughter, was carrying Lu Zeyan’s child. The child that was supposed to elevate their family’s status, the child they’d publicly claimed was Shuyin’s with Yueling as a selfless surrogate.
"Call an ambulance! Now!" he shouted, his voice cracking with panic.
Shuyin watched the scene unfold with an unreadable expression, standing beside Lu Yuze. Part of her, the part that remembered being betrayed, framed, and imprisoned, wanted to feel satisfaction. But seeing Lin Yueling clutching her belly, tears streaming down her face, she felt nothing but cold calculation.
This baby was leverage. This baby was the lie that bound them all together.
Lu Yuze remained perfectly still beside her, his face impassive as he observed the chaos. He made no move to help, no offer of assistance. This was not his emergency to manage.
"You!" Madam Chen pointed a shaking finger at Shuyin, her voice trembling with rage and fear. "If anything happens to this baby, to MY grandson, I will make you pay!"
"Mother, please..." Lin Yueling whimpered, another cramp hitting her. She bent forward, nearly collapsing.
Lin Feng caught her, supporting her weight. His face was frantic, sweat beading on his forehead. "We need to go. Now. Where’s the car? Someone get the car!"
One of the servants who had been watching from the doorway rushed off.
"The ambulance will take too long," Lin Feng muttered, his hands shaking as he held his daughter. "We’ll drive her ourselves."
Shuyin exchanged a glance with Lu Yuze. His expression was cool, detached. He tilted his head slightly, a silent question: ’Should we offer?’
She gave an almost imperceptible shake of her head. Let them scramble. Let them panic.
"Shuyin!" Lin Feng barked, his voice desperate. "You’re coming to the hospital. That baby...." He caught himself, remembering the public story they’d fabricated. "You need to be there."
"Of course, Father," Shuyin said sweetly, but she didn’t move. "I’m so worried about my baby."
The words dripped with sarcasm, but the Lin family was too panicked to notice.
The servant returned. "Sir, the car is ready!"
