Trash Prince and Ice Queen 10th Re - Life-Chapter 160: The Story From 50 years ago
Murmic looked absolutely furious. Both of his hands were clenched into fists until they trembled; his face was incredibly red and his eyes appeared watery because his emotions had reached their absolute limit. Hardim, seeing that his brother was about to explode, immediately stepped forward and grabbed his shoulder. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
"Hey, Brother... don’t..."
"You can’t! You are not allowed to go!" Murmic screamed, his voice booming as he cut Hardim off, causing everyone to instantly turn and look at him.
The atmosphere in the room instantly turned silent. Elmer and Thorena looked at their father with firm stares, as if to say, "I am still going with them to get Lugerna, so don’t try to stop me." Ard, Eva, and Luca, seeing a family drama about to unfold, took a step back so they wouldn’t get dragged into it. After a few moments in that suffocating silence:
"I agree with King Murmic. My daughter, and of course Elmer, I also do not permit you to go. There is much you need to explain to me and Murmic, starting from your relationship to what actually happened fifty years ago after you faced me in the palace," Vogir said, breaking the silence.
Murmic, hearing Vogir’s words, turned to look at him and then turned back to his two children with a triumphant face, nodding repeatedly. Then Thorena stepped forward.
"I’m still going. First, I’m going to bring Sister Lugerna home, and second, I am the dwarf representative fighting for the world," Thorena said firmly.
"No, no... let me be the one to get Lugerna and finish what I started. Please, just wait at the palace," Elmer countered to Thorena.
"I have to go too... I can’t possibly leave Elmer alone, and I’m also responsible for what happened fifty years ago," Grethia added.
Hearing their children’s words, Vogir only shook his head and covered his eyes with his hand, while Murmic turned a deep shade of red again, though not as bright as before. The room fell silent once more, though the tension wasn’t quite as suffocating as it had been. Then, Hardim stepped forward.
"What exactly happened fifty years ago? Can you tell us?" Hardim asked.
Elmer and Grethia glanced at each other, then both turned to look at Ard, Eva, and Luca—who were standing in the corner with inquisitive expressions—before turning their attention back to Murmic, Vogir, and Hardim.
"Alright. Grethia and I will tell you," Elmer replied.
Elmer turned to look at Grethia, who gave a nod. Then Grethia turned back to face everyone before her.
"Fifty years ago, when I came to the village by the shore and met Elmer... I received guidance from a dream,"
Grethia immediately began recounting how she had dreamed of a world in ruins. A war raged across the surface, destroying everything in its path. Every living creature was caught in the conflict, including the dwarves and the giants living in Le Rein Infernal. After a hundred years of war, until only a single kingdom remained with all races merged into it, an entity—a god or goddess with a body half-man and half-woman—arose and seized control of the kingdom with an iron fist.
Four gods and goddesses who tried to resist this dual-natured entity, which claimed to be the Supreme God, were slaughtered. Ultimately, the world plummeted into darkness as everyone was judged and ruled by this dual-natured’s iron hand.
"Hmm... so that’s how it is," Ard muttered as he listened to Grethia’s story.
"That’s right, but there’s more to it," Grethia replied.
To prevent everything in the dream from coming true, the Githiess egg—the egg of the last dragon that was destined to rise—had to be kept safe. It had to be delivered to two human heroes and their party who would eventually come to Le Rein Infernal to meet them. For it was those two heroes and their group who would put an end to the chaos on the surface and hatch the egg in the future to restore balance to the world.
That was why Elmer and Grethia intended to bring peace to the kingdoms of Grimgrath and Tartagia through marriage, forcing the two nations to protect the Githiess egg until the two human heroes and their party arrived—the ones who, in the future, would unite all tribes and creatures into a single kingdom after defeating the dual entity that claimed to be the Supreme God.
"Hmm... interesting," Ard and Eva muttered as they thought it over.
"Yep... that’s right. The one who gave you that dream... was me," Luca said proudly.
Everyone immediately turned to look at Luca, including Ard and Eva, who were behind her and looked down at her.
"You were the one who gave her the dream?" Eva asked.
"Yep, I was asked for help by Bedryt," Luca answered proudly, hands on her hips and her chin tilted up with a smirk.
"Why didn’t you say anything before?" Eva asked.
"Because you didn’t ask; it’s not my fault," Luca answered, still looking quite proud of herself.
"Hmm... no wonder the Dragon God tasked us with finding that egg. Everything makes sense now," Ard murmured.
"Ard... look at them," Eva replied.
Ard and Eva saw the faces of Elmer, Grethia, Thorena, Hardim, Murmic, and Vogir staring at them with looks full of questions; naturally, they had all overheard the conversation between Ard, Eva, and Luca. Then Grethia, seemingly just realizing that Ard and Eva were human—coupled with Luca being a strange creature to her—stepped forward to stand in front of the three of them. She studied the faces of Ard, Eva, and Luca. Her eyes widened, and she immediately covered her mouth with both of her upper hands.
"You... it’s you. You are the ones from my dream," Grethia said.
"Hmm... maybe," Ard said shortly, even though he already knew the answer.
Elmer also stepped forward to examine the three of them, standing beside Grethia. He immediately bowed in respect and then raised his head again.
"Thank you for coming to Le Rein Infernal... I’m sorry, we failed to bring peace to the two kingdoms and protect the Githiess egg back then," Elmer said.
"It’s alright. The important thing is that the egg is safe, right Luca?" Eva asked.
"That’s right, the egg is safe. I guarantee it. Sister Githiess will rise again one day," Luca answered cheerfully.
"Wait a minute... if what Grethia saw in her dream fifty years ago was a war involving all kingdoms and all creatures... then that means... the war on the surface is happening right now," Hardim murmured.
"Correct. The war happening now is definitely the one Grethia saw in her dream. That is exactly why we are here," Ard said.
The room fell silent once more. Everyone now understood that the state of the world had entered a process drawing dangerously close to what had occurred in Grethia’s dream fifty years ago. Naturally, this issue had become far bigger than simply whether or not to allow Elmer, Thorena, and Grethia to leave. Vogir and Murmic seemed to be thinking intensely, their brows furrowing and knitting together. Then Vogir turned to look at his daughter.
"Alright, I understand. Grethia, go with Elmer. Bring peace to this world and represent us, the giants," Vogir said. Then he turned to look at Ard and Eva, and after that, he bowed his head. "Please, watch over my daughter. And if you establish a new kingdom, we would be very willing to join you, whether on the surface or here in Le Rein Infernal," Vogir told the two of them.
"Huh?" Ard and Eva were instantly shocked. But before they could say a word, Murmic stood beside Vogir and looked at Elmer and Thorena.
"I also permit you to go. Represent the Kingdom of Grimgrath and the dwarf race," Murmic said firmly. After that, Murmic turned toward Ard and Eva. He removed his semi-circular iron hat with wings on either side and held it to his chest, then bowed. "Please protect my children. As the King of the Grimgrath Kingdom and representing all dwarves, I declare that the Kingdom of Grimgrath will join and is ready to fight alongside the kingdom you will establish," Murmic stated.
"Huh?" Ard and Eva looked completely confused. They immediately turned to look at each other, but then Luca turned around.
"Why are you guys so confused? Your destiny has already been laid out, you know. Hasn’t Bedryt told you yet?" Luca asked.
"Oh... is that so," Ard and Eva replied.
"Yeah, so don’t act like you don’t know anything. Honestly," Luca replied, sounding a bit annoyed.
"Alright, we understand," Ard and Eva replied.
Then Ard and Eva, who had regained their composure and were no longer confused, spoke directly with Vogir and Murmic. After that, they arranged a plan to cross the ocean toward the opposite continent. Elmer suggested using a zeppelin so they could travel faster, and Luca agreed to follow along and protect them from below, keeping any sea monsters that intended to bother them at bay during the journey.
"Alright, we leave tomorrow. Today, we prepare everything," Ard said.
"I’ll go tell the others after this," Eva replied.
"Very well. Thank you, Your Majesty Ard and Your Majesty Eva," Elmer said.
"Hey, we aren’t King and Queen yet!" Ard and Eva replied at the same time.
