Chapter 443: Chapter 47: Lord of Cinder II

Airelde’s Painted World.

Sister Friede had long been enamored with this place. Upon hearing her words, Su Ziyu couldn’t help but feel stirred and said solemnly, "This place isn’t very safe; leaving is a good idea."

"Airelde’s Painted World?"

"Just right."

"I also have something to ask of you!..."

You’Er Xia gently lifted her head and said, "Please instruct me, Your Grace. You’Er Xia will do her utmost!..."

"It’s not anything particularly difficult." Su Ziyu walked over and whispered a few words beside her.

Then You’Er Xia nodded slightly to show her understanding.

To be specific, Airelde’s Painted World is a half-plane painted with the blood of the Divine Race. It came into being roughly when the First Flame began to dim. It is inhabited by some peculiar beings, and descendants of the Divine Race are responsible for its care. It’s said that this world’s birth was due to the Divine Race foreseeing the extinction of the Flame. They quietly created a painted world to serve as a refuge for others.

A whole day passed quickly.

After a brief rest in Yanorlund, and once his injuries had mostly healed, Su Ziyu prepared to set out for Lothric Royal City.

Sister Friede suddenly disappeared.

He naturally wouldn’t venture into Airelde’s Painted World alone, but You’Er Xia had already taken the resurrected Gwendolin and gone ahead. Their current situation was not suitable for continuing to stay in Yanorlund, and the once Royal City of the Divine Race no longer had any living people.

First, find Sister Friede, then consider how to visit the last Lord of Cinder.

Unlike other resurrected Lords of Cinder, the twin princes of Lothric City were not burned by the First Flame, meaning if they hadn’t zombified, they would likely retain some sanity.

However, Lothric Royal City would likely be even more dangerous.

Just judging by the colossal dragon corpses outside the city, some existences within are quite strong, and there’s also the Human Pus.

"Three of the five Lords of Cinder have already been slain by me."

Su Ziyu retraced his steps back through Yirushir, but he didn’t pass through the Kassas Great Tomb underground. Instead, he used Spiritual Flight to head straight towards the direction of the Falan Fortress. "Now, only two Lords of Cinder remain."

"The Lothric Prince is deep within the Royal City and has not appeared since the bell for Fire Transmission rang."

"The soul-refining Warlock Rudus is already at the Fire Transmission Ritual Site."

"This Lord of Cinder had transmitted the fire once."

"Sister Friede said she had seen him; Rudus’s body was half burned, and his lower limbs entirely gone. Arguably, this Lord of Cinder should be easy to deal with, but the Fire Transmission Ritual Site itself is very dangerous. It’s not worth the risk for one Divinity Value to venture into the enemy’s stronghold."

The twin princes of Lothric are very key.

They belong to the Fire Extinguishing Faction.

And they hadn’t burned in the First Flame before, so the chances of them zombifying are extremely low. If they can be swayed, they would be a significant aid.

But Su Ziyu doesn’t know their attitude towards the other Lords of Cinder, nor what they desire.

He must find a way to make contact first.

If all else fails.

Then he’ll have to find a way to kill them!

Su Ziyu leveraged his Spiritual Flight ability, traversing mountains and rivers, spending roughly half a day before finally returning near Falan Fortress. Along the way, Su Ziyu saw a large area of churches, which were likely the Abyssal Church. Pressed to reach Lothric Royal City, he didn’t explore deeply alone, but outside, he discovered some executed corpses.

The Cinders had been here.

And upon returning to the Undead Settlement, he immediately noticed that the giant on the high tower was already dead.

"Who did this?" Su Ziyu lightly landed on the tower.

Though this giant had turned into a zombie, he wasn’t essentially bad and would not attack people randomly. He merely guarded that white tree from a distance, likely the last vestige of obsession in his heart.

There were wounds on the corpse’s back.

This giant was assassinated from behind, and it’s been some time since his death. It’s unclear who did it, but it’s likely related to the Cinders, as the bonfire nearby was lit.

"Sigh." Su Ziyu sighed softly and turned away.

Dusk fell.

Su Ziyu finally reached the vicinity of Lothric Royal City. Before he could enter the city, he saw a massive figure suddenly rise and soar into the air in the distance.

A giant dragon!

It was a living colossal flying dragon!

This dragon was even larger than the dead ones outside, with an estimated wingspan of over twenty meters. As its huge body rose, it cast a vast shadow. However, it had only just risen to roughly a hundred meters when it suddenly staggered, swaying and then plummeting back down.

"What on earth is that?" Su Ziyu strained his eyes, seeing a bizarre mass of black substance.

On the lower body of the massive flying dragon, near a pus-like wound, a continuous stream of black viscous substance flowed, looking quite familiar.

"Human Pus?" Su Ziyu furrowed his brow, murmuring, "Can flying dragons also be infected with Human Pus?"

"Wait."

"Isn’t it rumored that the dragons in Lothric City were once humans?"

Bang.

The massive flying dragon struggled, its enormous body gradually descending, soon crashing back onto the ground, raising a cloud of dust.

It was wounded.

A big mass of black Human Pus was spreading across its body surface.

After the colossal flying dragon fell, Su Ziyu hesitated slightly but still approached Lothric Royal City.

No matter what.

He had to meet the twin princes of Lothric.

This time, Su Ziyu bypassed the Lothric High Wall. Just as he entered the inner city of Lothric, he saw a large number of knight corpses, many of whom had been decapitated. Mixed among them were some pilgrim and zombie corpses.

They were all facing one direction.

That was the most majestic palace inside Lothric Royal City, reportedly the bedchamber of the twin princes of Lothric.

They were praying for the prince to transmit the fire.

Before the bell at the Fire Transmission Ritual Site rang, a brutal civil war erupted inside Lothric Royal City. The Fire Transmission Faction and the Fire Extinguishing Faction had a fierce battle, and from the looks of it, the Fire Extinguishing Faction won, otherwise, there wouldn’t have been a need to ring the ancient bell at the Fire Transmission Ritual Site to awaken the Lords of Cinder.

Click.

Su Ziyu’s figure gently landed, and just then, a glistening white glow fell.

Suddenly!

The alarm from the Space-Time Monitor System sounded:

"Alert! Alert!"

"Unknown source of pollution detected! ... Analyzing! ..."

"Traces of Human Pus pollution found! ..."

"Activating Hourglass of Time!"

"Activating Divine Power!"

A filthy tar-like black substance surfaced on Su Ziyu’s shoulder. Before it could seep into Su Ziyu’s body, pale golden lightning already evaporated it.
