Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer-Chapter 598 - 282 Trial_2
"The difficulty of the challenge will be much higher," the trinity reminded from the side.
"What is this groove?" Alka asked curiously, looking at the groove on the stone platform.
"Credentials, formal credentials."
Alka nodded, asked no more questions, and slightly raised his left hand, placing it on the stone platform to his left.
"Divine Descendant, welcome," a voice sounded, and Alka vanished from where he stood.
The trinity floated in place, looking somewhat dazed.
So... the Divine Descendant can bypass credentials?
"Didn’t you know about this?" Jason, who was standing nearby and overheard the trinity, asked with surprise.
This shouldn’t be the case for a guide, he thought. How could it not know about such a thing?
"Uh... before the Divine War, I was just a backup guide. I was never activated, a brand-new construct," the trinity explained, its voice a bit embarrassed. "Over 20,000 years ago, I was accidentally activated. By then, this place was already in ruins, and I only had the most basic information recorded in my body."
Hearing this, Jason nodded and didn’t probe further. He looked at the platform where Alka had disappeared.
Chadite asked, "Can’t we see Alka’s situation inside?"
"No. The privacy of the Trial Taker must be protected. This tower has a strong shielding effect, blocking most perception and information probing. Even gods cannot casually glimpse the information inside." Pride was evident in the trinity’s voice as it spoke.
Everyone nodded. This sounded quite reasonable, as the trial would undoubtedly involve various powers and techniques. If such techniques were spread, the Trial Taker could easily be targeted. Privacy was indeed important. The fact that this place could become a Land of Trial that many forces were willing to visit indicated that its creators had done a good job in this aspect before the Divine War.
"How long will the trial last?" Julia asked. If it lasted for several days and nights, they couldn’t just stand there endlessly.
"According to records, a normal trial doesn’t last more than 4 hours."
"That short?" Simon exclaimed, surprised. This was much shorter than he had expected.
"Perhaps some time-related Spell was used?" Julia speculated from nearby.
"This Miss Merfolk is correct. The stone tower uses Vastva’s space expansion technology and Salafibert’s time adjustment technology," the trinity was very pleased to introduce to everyone.
Julia looked at her magically transformed legs. Technology from ten thousand years ago? How could it be seen through so easily?
Yet, considering it could instantly recognize Alka’s recently acquired Divine Descendant status, perhaps it wasn’t that surprising.
Still, she hadn’t expected to hear about Vastva here.
Lucilia asked curiously, "Vastva? I’ve heard that name. What was it like ten thousand years ago?"
"The city-state of Vastva? Records say it was a small, remote city-state, reputedly built in an Alternate Space. It favored peace, avoided disputes, and was a city of scholars. They were most famous for their space technology and its applications. It’s said that the Four-Fraction God and the Progressives had a good relationship, which also made Vastva quite familiar with us. Consequently, many of Vastva’s important figures would come here for their trials."
The trinity answered everyone’s questions, browsing the information recorded in its body.
This was roughly in line with what they already knew. It seemed Vastva was indeed just a small, remote power before the Divine War.
Even a remote power was this strong.
Everyone found it hard to imagine how glorious the major powers must have been before the Divine War, ten thousand years ago. What kind of magnificent era was the world in before the Divine War?
「...」
A distinct, strange sensation made Alka feel a bit dizzy. As the dizziness faded, he felt his feet touch solid ground. The sensation of teleportation hadn’t been pleasant; it felt like his body was being pulled and squeezed. He looked at his surroundings.
An unemotional, calm voice sounded in the space. Like the trinity, it spoke in an unintelligible language, yet Alka could understand its meaning. "Your strength does not match the current floor. Would you like to jump directly to the 4th floor? You can also choose to start from the 1st floor to familiarize yourself with the Tower of Trial’s operational mechanisms."
Alka considered for a moment, then said without much hesitation, "I’ll start from the 1st floor."
"The Tower of Trial will fully scan your information. All scanned information will be securely stored under the contract of the God of Secrecy. Without your permission, no information will be disclosed in any way. Do you agree?"
He didn’t know if the God of Secrecy’s contract could still guarantee confidentiality in this era, but he had little choice.
"I agree." 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
"Please state your name, or choose a pseudonym."
Alka paused for a moment. "...Wanderer."
"New Trial Taker identity recorded: Wanderer.
Identities: Divine Descendant, Dream Kings, Saintess of Stone.
Soul scan... Trial construction complete.
Body scan... Trial construction complete.
Your exclusive trial has been constructed. Please say ’Start’ to begin the trial."
Honestly, this sudden series of events made Alka feel as though he had stepped into a future world, completely out of sync with the current one.
He found himself increasingly curious about what the world was truly like before the Divine War, ten thousand years ago.
