Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer-Chapter 630 - 293: An Unacceptable Challenge
At this moment, Alka was wearing a pair of glasses he'd unknowingly put on.
Through these glasses, Alka could clearly scan the people before him. What Stage is their strength at, approximately?
"Five at the Third Stage... one at the Fourth Stage."
Obviously, this group was not weak. In fact, they could be considered very strong.
He just didn't know how many of them possessed a Treasure.
Hmm... alright, all of them, Alka silently remarked to himself.
The glasses themselves were designed for Energy analysis, and they were exceptionally accurate when scanning Intelligent Life forms.
However, this group made no effort to hide the Treasures they possessed, perhaps intending to intimidate Alka and his companions.
Their Treasures were openly displayed, emitting a faint aura.
The aura of the Treasures was extremely noticeable, and this was clearly intentional.
Otherwise, Treasures were usually unassuming, their Energy contained, making them as difficult to detect as ordinary items.
This group approached without showing any intention of attack.
Upon reaching the stone tower, Alka's group observed them closely.
The six people were clearly from the same family. They all looked quite young; only their leader appeared to be around thirty years old.
But in this world with Magic Power, where lifespans were normally longer, someone around thirty was still considered young, barring any accidents.
This group bore some resemblance to each other; all had dark green hair.
The leader, a man whose strength had reached the Fourth Stage, looked at Alka and nodded politely.
He tentatively spoke, "Hello?"
Everyone understood the language, as it was the common tongue of the Homeland Sea.
Upon hearing this, Alka immediately crossed his arms and nodded.
"Hello."
Seeing Alka's gesture, the six strangers before him promptly mirrored the action, crossing their arms.
They spoke, "May the Holy Mother bless you."
"May the Holy Mother bless you," Alka, Chadite, and Jason said, making the same gesture.
They were followers of the Holy Mother, and it was evident the people opposite were as well.
This was how they identified each other's allegiance.
Alka had previously learned from Chadite how to sense the particular aura present when someone sincerely prayed for the Holy Mother's blessing. Only true believers could possess this ability.
Evidently, the other party also possessed this ability because, after Alka and his friends made the gesture and invoked the Holy Mother's name, their demeanor visibly shifted from wary unfamiliarity to ease.
One could even see them visibly relax further, as if they had already mentally labeled Alka's group as 'safe.'
"I didn't expect to meet two Saints here. It's truly an honor," said the leader, the Fourth Stage individual, who had somehow directly identified their status.
But since both sides were followers of the Holy Mother, this was clearly a good thing.
Moreover, Alka's group was obviously outnumbered and outmatched in terms of strength.
Their higher status as Saints helped facilitate peaceful exchanges between them.
The leader then quickly added, "Let me introduce myself. I'm Maru Talutas, and these are my clan members behind me."
"Alka Ragu. Pleased to meet you all."
Everyone exchanged simple introductions. The atmosphere was fairly pleasant, and all behaved in a friendly manner.
They were speaking with exceptional politeness, Alka mused. Perhaps it's because of our status as Saints.
"Did you come to this island unintentionally, or are you here specifically for a trial?" Maru asked curiously.
The question was restrained and not offensive.
"We came unintentionally. We're undergoing a trial with the Guide's help."
Maru nodded in understanding and said with a smile, "Then you had better remember this island's location well. It would be best to make a marker flag; this island doesn't move around."
This was clearly his way of showing goodwill, revealing a piece of information directly, Alka thought.
This information could be significant, though its true value also depended on whether his group would have discovered it on their own later.
"Certainly. We will do so after we leave. Thank you for your kindness."
"Haha, you're welcome. After all, we are all followers of the Holy Mother; helping each other is only right."
Alka smiled and nodded, completely relaxing his cautious demeanor and becoming more amiable.
Both sides had already let down their guard, as faith in the Holy Mother was the best form of identification.
In this world where the Divine truly existed, genuine faith could not contain any falsehood.
This was especially true for a being like the Holy Mother; if one did not believe in her teachings, or if one's actions did not align with her ideals, she would not spare them a glance even if they prayed in her name.
One had to genuinely accept her ideals in their heart, or their actions had to conform to the teachings of the Divine. Otherwise, they would not meet the requirements.
Being a follower of the Holy Mother meant that, at the very least, one would not be a villain; the vast majority belonged to a lawful alignment.
After a brief chat, Maru noticed that some members of Alka's group seemed to be currently undergoing a trial.
"Are you all undergoing trials today?" Maru asked.
Alka nodded. "Yes, our trials reset today."
Hearing this, Maru nodded. After a moment of thought, he said, "In that case, we won't disturb you further. We'll come back later to stagger our trial times with yours."
"My apologies for the inconvenience," Alka replied. "That arrangement would be for the best."
