Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer-Chapter 655 - 301 Red Light Spot_2
The material itself was clearly different. Both Alka and Simon recognized at a glance that it must be made from Spell Materials.
Using Spell Materials to draw a map...
Alka felt a surge of anticipation.
He took it from Chadite to inspect it carefully.
A regional map? Alka thought with some surprise as he examined the map.
"Is this a sea area? Not an Island? And it depicts a sea area without a Landmark Island, right?"
Hearing Alka's confusion, Chadite nodded. "Yes, that's right. When I saw this map, I was also very surprised. Logically, such a map shouldn't exist in the Endless Sea. But then again, this is the Endless Sea."
Indeed, this is the Endless Sea; what strange occurrence couldn't be accepted here?
"What's going on?" Simon asked curiously.
According to their understanding, the Endless Sea was extremely chaotic. Apart from Landmark Islands and their associated island chains, other islands mostly drifted freely on the sea. There was hardly any logic to find. In such a situation, even if a sea area map was meticulously charted, it would be useless, right? Because it would constantly change. Only Island maps had some utility; beyond that, one might draw peculiar island chain maps. An island chain map was less a map and more a form of data annotation, with only simple directional guides and time markers. It was entirely different from what one would consider a true map.
"The area depicted here is called the Sea of Moisture," Chadite said, looking at the map in Alka's hand.
"Sea of Moisture?" Alka repeated, frowning as he thought. He felt as if he had heard that term somewhere before.
"Have you heard of it?"
"Hmm... I remember now." Alka patted his head; he recalled where he'd heard the term. "I saw this place mentioned on the notice board at the Church's bounty location. It's a rather dangerous area. The Cult Group, various wanted criminals, and murderous maniacs all hide out in that godforsaken place."
On those bounty posters, at least four or five targets were located in that area.
Chadite also began to explain to everyone what she knew. "According to the shopkeeper who sold the map, it's a marsh-like sea area, extremely dangerous. But if you frequently sail near the Gemini Island chain, you might encounter it, as the Sea of Moisture occasionally appears in this vast region. Not just Gemini Island, but Landmark Islands like Nokain Island and Iceberg Island might also encounter this sea area. He used that as his sales pitch, recommending I buy a map, 'just in case I'm unlucky,' he said."
"What do you mean?" Simon looked even more puzzled.
Chadite continued, "The Landmark Islands I just mentioned are all located around Gemini Island. Simply put, they're Gemini Island's neighbors, although these neighbors are quite far from each other."
"And while the Sea of Moisture drifts freely, it seems to do so within a certain pattern and range. It stays around these island chain sea areas. So, ships operating between these Landmark Islands might, if they're unlucky, encounter this particular sea area."
Hearing this, everyone gained a general understanding. In other words, while this sea area didn't belong to any Landmark Island and drifted freely, its drifting was confined to a certain range, at least within a defined area, rather than roaming randomly across the entire boundless, unknown expanse of the Endless Sea. Although this "defined area" could be described as absurdly large, perhaps even larger than the entire Homeland Sea, it was at least an acceptable range when considered against the sheer scale of the Endless Sea. However, it wasn't an Island; it was an entire, very peculiar sea area. Over hundreds or thousands of years, as more people naturally encountered it, they gradually gained a better understanding of it.
Alka looked at the sea area map before him.
Although the map appeared relatively clear, much of the data was quite vague, including the exact dimensions of this sea area. Nevertheless, the sea area was undeniably vast. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Because in Alka's view, this didn't qualify as a single sea area; it didn't fit his classification of an Island map or a regional map. Alka's classification system included three types: world maps, regional maps, and Island maps. Among these, regional maps provided the least information—practically none at all. They only marked light spots on the islands encompassed by the map.
But to Alka, this map was actually divided into three distinct regions. This meant the map, in essence, somewhat resembled a world map—albeit one that only covered a single, specific area.
These three regions could be simply designated as the upper, left, and right sectors. The upper sector occupied almost half of the entire map. Alka reached out and touched the upper sector.
[Mysterious Region]
[Treasure Quantity: White - Abundant, Blue - Abundant, Gold - Scarce, Orange - Trace.]
[Region Difficulty: Insane]
[Region Introduction: None]
It was a long-unseen type of introduction; this was the status information panel, something Alka hadn't encountered since leaving the Homeland Sea. After all, a "world map" as such simply didn't exist in the Endless Sea.
Mysterious Region? Clearly, it wasn't labeled 'Mysterious Region' because that was its actual name, but rather because Alka himself had no idea what this region was called. When he used to look at the world map of the Homeland Sea, he hadn't faced this issue because all those areas had been clearly labeled. But what truly captivated Alka's attention now was the quantity of Treasure indicated.
