Chapter 697: Chapter 315 Family Treasure Vault_2

Julia nodded.

"She said she had ventured deep into the core area of the Life and Death Boundary, where the monsters were very strong. She had been alone and was ambushed, which was why she was severely injured. When she managed to escape, she already felt she might not survive. Therefore, she left the Treasure at the border area of the Life and Death Boundary. She said her Treasure could leave a fixed point in the Life and Death Boundary, but its exact purpose was unclear. She hoped that whoever found her body would bring it back to... the Seed of Life."

Upon hearing Julia’s final words, everyone fell silent.

Julia could now be considered an apostate. Sending an apostate to the location of the Seed of Life’s church was akin to courting death.

"’I’ll leave it to you all then,’ Julia said."

After hearing this, everyone nodded.

"’Alright, we have another place to go,’ Alka said, resuming piloting the Swallow and taking everyone to the location of the Treasure Vault. That was the real focus of their trip. That was the treasure truly requiring their attention and effort, the one worth their time."

Fortunately, the Treasure Vault wasn’t far. After traveling for about an hour, they reached the spot marked by the light. This place was also vast and boundless, with the exception of a forest in the distance. That distant forest might be the reference point for the Treasure Vault. Of course, that was just a simple guess. However, their current location was at least a kilometer from that distant forest.

"’Is this it?’ Pororo asked." 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

Alka nodded and jumped directly off the ship, landing in the water. Then he stepped onto the layer of vines beneath.

"’It should be down here.’"

"’I’ll go take a look,’ Pororo said. He found a weak spot, tore an opening, and dived straight down."

He began searching below for anything suspicious that might indicate the Treasure Vault. Generally, a Treasure Vault is large and shouldn’t be easy to hide. Not every place is like Vastva’s, he reasoned.

Soon, he resurfaced.

"’It’s really well hidden,’ Pororo sighed, climbing back out."

Obviously, he had found it.

Hearing this, Alka asked, "’You found the location of the Treasure Vault?’"

Pororo nodded. "’This area of vines sinks deep underwater, at least tens of meters. The Treasure Vault is hidden here, entwined with vines. It’s very concealed.’"

Simply put, if Pororo hadn’t known this area supposedly concealed a Treasure Vault, he would never have discovered it. Even if he frequently passed through this area, he might have missed it.

Upon hearing this, Alka pondered for a moment. Then he said, "’Juanlu, Jason, Ulu Liwus, you three stay above with the Puppet Legion. The rest of you, come down with me.’"

After the team was assigned, everyone nodded.

Each prepared their underwater breathing apparatus, and together they dived through the opening Pororo had made. Jason and the others kept watch above to prevent any ambushes or sneak attacks. Though such an event was unlikely, necessary vigilance should never be neglected.

As soon as he was deep underwater, Alka shivered involuntarily. It’s truly cold down here, he thought. The freezing chill was unlike that of normal seawater. It was pitch black, and dense vines hung down, swaying with the current. Sunlight pierced the water’s surface, filtering through gaps in the layers of vines and casting thin beams downward. These beams did little to improve the gloomy atmosphere of the area. Honestly, the place could have been a set for a horror film; the environment itself was terrifyingly eerie.

Pororo swam ahead, gesturing for the others to follow. They promptly followed him, diving directly into the thicket of vines. These vines were unusually tenacious, and some even bore sharp thorns. Swaying with the current, they seemed to try and bind them.

The group stuck close to Pororo, swimming for quite some time before finally seeing him stop. However, the spot where he stopped looked no different from the surroundings; it was all just countless hanging vines.

Pororo reached out and pulled aside the vines in front of him, revealing what appeared to be a stone door.

"’This should be the entrance to the Treasure Vault,’ Pororo explained. ’There are walls entwined in vines all around it.’"

Everyone swam closer, examining the patterns on the circular door. The door was made of a peculiar kind of stone. It was circular and featured two concentric circular grooves and a keyhole in the center.

Everyone began to inspect the perimeter of the Treasure Vault. Simon deployed modified patrol drones capable of underwater movement, and they began scanning the Treasure Vault’s perimeter. Chadite attempted to use silver ripples to penetrate the Treasure Vault’s material, seeking to understand its structure and internal situation. Lucilia began examining the patterns around the Treasure Vault, checking for any inscriptions. Everyone set about their tasks.

Alka stood in front of the door.

These two circular grooves must serve a purpose, Alka thought, and the keyhole in the center is likely the final part of three conditions. This means the Treasure Vault has a total of three verification steps. Or rather, three ’locks.’

Alka reached out and touched the outermost ring-shaped groove, studying it carefully. Finally, he sniffed it lightly.

"’The scent of Holy Light,’ Alka murmured."

He nodded. This means the smaller, inner groove requires the so-called Power of Life and Death, he concluded.
