He wasn’t stupid enough to get too close to the creature than what was needed so he used the concentrated energy release method to defuse all the energy into a single point from a distance that not even the demonised creature could have been able to block.

But, as something that was under the control of the true demon that he was contracted to, this demonic human was no longer anything human.

It had become a demon puppet.

The demon was the one that was controlling this creature right now so even though this attack from the prince was not something even a real demon could have blocked, as something someone else was seeing from a higher position, it was an easy attack to evade.

"That’s enough!"

However, at least, he had managed to throw the creature off to a distance that made the area that he needed around him safe to execute the following technique.

He controlled the blade of concentrated energy that he had just related, the blade that should have faded away like any other enemy attack, and spun it around himself and created a new boundary.

The new energy boundary was strong enough that it could even block the attack of a real demon so, even if the transformed enemy was strong, they only had pure strength.

They had no way to get past an energy barrier that was made exactly to counter the demonic energy that was the base of all powers of these demonic humans.

He knew at the very least, this barrier would buy them enough time to get out of that place since even he knew blocking the demon for a while and defeating the demon were two completely different things.

He might be strong but the enemy was a being that had transformed into a demon and had lost their humanity completely.

They were also being controlled by the demon that they served which made them stronger than many of the beings that they could face after getting out of there.

This situation was not the best either since the main support unit, the elvan princess had gone into a shocked state.

She wasn’t even responding to the calling of her friend, was hiding herself in that nearly broken barrier, and was trembling in fear.

There were wounds on her body however, thankfully, they were healing on their own thanks to the amazing healing powers she possessed.

She was in the worst state that he had ever seen her, and though he could see a few things had changed about her all of a sudden, he did not care about that.

He smashed on the barrier with unintentional tears glistening down his face.

That demonic creature was soon going to get past the barrier and attack them. He knew he was dangerous and she was in a bad condition.

He knew he had to do something but, breaking the barrier was going to hurt her so, he couldn’t do that either.

So... all he could do in that moment, was call out to her with all he had, and just pray that his voice reached her.

And thankfully... Thankfully, thankfully it did reach her.

She looked up, her eyes hazy with tears she had shed while drowning in the helplessness when her companions were getting crushed by that demon earlier.

She had witnessed what a demon was capable of, what they did to the others, how they killed and how their actions were...

She saw a demon for the first time in her life today. Not a demonic human but a true demon that brutally killed the students that she had studied with for months, people that she had worked with and people that she cherished.

She had seen her companions being eaten alive by that demon, she had just seen how they ripped the beings off their heads, and how they didn’t have even a shred of human decency...

After seeing them all die, she had instinctively covered herself in this barrier and had lost herself in the dreadful thoughts of how these same demons that had killed her friends, were also responsible for countless deaths all over this world.

The only thing she knew right now was the presence of the person that she could even feel past the barrier.

And from how they killed their own teammate like it was nothing, and that too with only their pure demonic magic, he knew he was not getting out of this situation in one piece.

He resented her for just falling unconscious like that in this situation.
