Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations-Chapter 1173: About to Be Set Up on a Blind Date
"These words... what do they even mean!"
Jocelyn Morgan listened and couldn’t help but feel he seemed a bit jealous.
"He..." Jocelyn saw Ian Shelby staring at her, as if expecting an answer, so she bluffed, "Pretty much, he kind of saved my life in Aethelburg."
"Aethelburg?" Ian’s handsome face remained calm, "You guys went to Aethelburg together?"
"Uh-huh, oh no!" She was once again confused by him, "What do you mean together? We met on the plane to Aethelburg, it was our first time meeting."
Ian stared at her, seeing no signs of deceit in her eyes, and his mood improved, though his face remained indifferent.
"Hey, why am I even explaining this to you?" Jocelyn suddenly realized and took a quick sip of milk, "It’s not like you’re anyone to me."
Ian smiled and continued picking food, not now, but who knows about the future.
When dinner ended, Ian said to her, "Don’t spread rumors about me, Vera Ford and I are just colleagues."
She was slightly taken aback, but he stood up.
Before Jocelyn could react, he went to the cashier and directly scanned the code to pay the bill.
"Hey!" She rushed over, pulling on his sleeve, "We agreed I’d treat you to dinner!"
"There’s plenty of time in the future, next time you treat." He said indifferently, stepping out.
Jocelyn followed him out.
Across the road stood Vera Ford, seeing him come out with her, with Jocelyn holding onto his sleeve in such an intimate gesture, and Ian wasn’t even bothered.
Vera’s heart tightened, her lips pursed sadly.
As they descended the steps, Jocelyn almost missed her step, but Ian instinctively reached out to steady her.
This made Vera even more unhappy.
"Your aunt is recovering well," Ian said as they crossed the road, helping pay attention to the cars on both sides, "but staying a few more days in the hospital wouldn’t hurt."
"Okay, thank you." Jocelyn really didn’t know what else to say.
While walking, Ian glanced at her, "How do you write novels? Your vocabulary is so limited, all you know to say is thank you."
"What else should I say?"
Ian just looked at her, not answering, and returned to his cold and distant demeanor.
The night grew deeper.
In the Dalton family villa, Trevor had been staying here for a few days, but their father-son relationship wasn’t publicly known.
It’s Friday today, and there’s a dinner tomorrow.
Trevor didn’t know the nature of the dinner, but he didn’t need to worry about it; he just had to go along with his father.
In the past few days, Trevor found himself thinking about Jocelyn a bit, and even having trouble sleeping at night.
If he didn’t proactively arrange a meeting, he wouldn’t know when he’d see her next.
Seeing the study light off, and his father not in the bedroom, he quietly went downstairs, but before he reached the stair corner, he heard his father on the phone.
"Don’t worry, I’ll definitely bring Trevor."
Trevor stopped, holding his breath to listen.
He heard David Dalton laughingly say, "I know your daughter is excellent and very beautiful, two years ago at that banquet, I noticed her at once in the crowd, calling her stunning wouldn’t be an exaggeration."
"Sure, if the kids hit it off, we, as parents, can be at ease, knowing each other well."
So, tomorrow’s dinner is a matchmaking?
Trevor’s expression changed subtly, he took two steps back, turned, and quietly went upstairs.
In his room, after much hesitation, he picked up his phone and dialed Jocelyn’s number.
The brief ringing ended, "Hello, Trevor," the girl’s soft voice came through.
"Are you asleep?" He felt her voice was very soft.
"Not yet, my aunt is asleep, I’m at the hospital with her." Jocelyn stepped out of the ward, gently closing the door, "So, what’s up? It’s so late." I’m in the hallway now."
Her voice obviously returned to normal.
"Tomorrow at noon, I’d like to ask you for a favor, it won’t take long, just two hours." Trevor got straight to the point.
