Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations-Chapter 1180: Mother and Son Reunited
"Brother-in-law went to pick up Mom, she’ll be here soon." Mia Lane’s voice was incredibly gentle as she helped him tie his shoelaces and held his slightly cool little hand, "Ethan, do you want to put on another piece of clothing? Are you cold?"
The little guy shook his head, his big eyes fixed on her, "Not cold."
At this moment, Justin Kingston walked in with Joan Graham from the doorway.
Mia Lane turned her gaze at the sound, and Ethan Dalton also looked up.
Joan Graham immediately spotted her son at the door, and time seemed to stand still. The excitement inside her was beyond words.
Joan Graham’s eyes only saw her son, as if nothing else in the world mattered to her anymore.
In an instant, her emotions took over, her heart full of bitterness, and tears gathered in her eyes, "..." Her lips trembled, but she couldn’t say anything.
Joan Graham took steps toward her son, one by one.
Mia Lane stood up, stepping aside a few steps. When her gaze met Justin Kingston’s, his expression softened a bit, but his face remained cold.
Mia Lane knew he had been holding back, restraining himself, and must have wished he could tear this woman apart with his own hands.
Mia Lane walked over to him, linked her arm with his, hoping he would calm down.
But Justin Kingston’s dislike and hatred for Joan Graham were still evident.
Ethan Dalton sat on the sofa, looking up at his mother without blinking, feeling a bit unfamiliar, yet a bit familiar, as it had been a long time since they last saw each other...
The little guy was still processing his thoughts, not very excited.
"Son..." Joan Graham softly called out, kneeling in front of the sofa, gripping the little boy’s hands tightly, "Son, I’m Mom, do you remember Mom?"
Ethan Dalton looked at his tearful mother, pressed his lips together, "...Mom." His throat felt a bit dry.
Joan Graham completely broke down, pulling him into her arms, "Yes, I’m Mom. Ethan, Mom’s missed you so much. Have you missed Mom?"
She was trembling, crying.
Ethan Dalton seemed unchanged emotionally, having met his mom, he just wanted to see her, not very thrilled.
Perhaps he faintly knew from the adult conversations what wrongs Mom had done.
"Son, stand up and let Mom have a look at you."
Joan Graham knew time was precious, her tears rolled down, reluctantly letting him go, holding his small shoulders, fighting back the heartache.
Ethan Dalton understood, obediently standing up.
"You’ve grown taller..." Joan Graham was very pleased. She stood up too, "Ethan, you’ve grown noticeably taller! Almost up to my chest."
Ethan Dalton looked up at her, "It’s Sister who’s been helping me."
Joan Graham came back to her senses, glancing at Mia Lane.
The little boy, even though he appeared calm, still spoke with concern, "Mom, don’t cry."
Joan Graham smiled and wiped away her tears.
She knew how precious every second was at this moment, that there wasn’t much time left for her.
She gazed at her son without blinking, because after this farewell, they might never meet again in this lifetime.
Her heart ached as if being torn apart.
"Mom, don’t cry." Ethan Dalton repeated the words, lifting his chubby little hand to wipe away the tears on her face.
Mia Lane, being a mother herself, found herself moved by the scene despite how terrible Joan Graham really was.
Justin Kingston remained cold; this woman deserved to die! He had no sympathy! She was to blame for her own actions.
It wasn’t long before David Dalton came in, something neither Justin Kingston nor Mia Lane had anticipated.
He entered the room and saw the mother-son reunion!
"Dad." Mia Lane’s chest tensed, "Weren’t you... supposed to be at the company all day today?"
"Dad." Justin Kingston warmly greeted as well.
Joan Graham turned at the sound, meeting the gaze of the middle-aged man.
David Dalton’s incredulous gaze landed on Joan Graham. He was slightly shocked, but overall appeared quite calm.
