Estelle Sterling recovered quickly; soon he was full of energy. Caleb Faulkner and Elara knew he had secretly gone to get the hair on his own and got injured, so they couldn’t help but make fun of him.

"Estelle, you’re too impulsive."

Estelle looked at Caleb’s gloating expression and couldn’t help but frown, "I just wanted to show off, but I didn’t expect to mess up."

After thinking it over, he added, "No! I didn’t mess up; Sister Eleanor has already taken the hair for identification, so I did succeed. Give me some credit!"

Caleb shook his head helplessly and praised, "Alright, alright, you’re amazing."

Elara said with an indifferent expression, "I passed by Chloe’s villa that day and saw her sitting alone in the garden crying. Later, I found out her legs were injured, so I gave her some medication."

Estelle frowned, his expression becoming serious, "What? How could she be injured?"

"I don’t know, maybe she was beaten."

The villa where Chloe lived only had Wendy Warren and her; it was obvious who might have hit her.

Caleb asked in confusion, "Could it be because of this incident? I heard Chloe waited here for you to wake up, even for two whole days."

Estelle’s heart sank.

So Chloe got beaten because of him?

Estelle couldn’t imagine what it was like to be hit, especially for a young girl; she would surely cry.

Although Chloe was older than him, she was like a little girl.

Estelle felt a complex mix of emotions and said, "I’ll go check on her."

Caleb and Elara watched him leave and couldn’t help but shake their heads.

In the garden, Chloe was watering the flowers.

When Estelle arrived, he saw the young girl in the garden, sunlit and surrounded by a soft glow.

"Hey, come here for a sec."

Hearing the voice, Chloe looked over and saw Estelle standing there, her face lit up with delight as she immediately put down the watering can and ran over.

"Brother Estelle, are you alright now?"

Estelle’s gaze fell on her leg and he said, "Lift up your pant leg; let me see."

Chloe was taken aback, then shook her head evasively, "No... no need, I’m fine."

She didn’t know how Estelle found out about her being beaten, but she didn’t want him to see her in such a sorry state.

Estelle frowned and stepped forward to forcibly lift her pant leg. Though Chloe resisted, she couldn’t stop him.

Her previous injuries had scabbed over completely under Elara’s medication, leaving only faint marks, but the signs of past injury were evident.

Estelle’s frown deepened.

"Why did she hit you?"

Chloe bit her lip, her eyes brimming with moisture.

"I’ll go find her!"

Chloe held onto Estelle, on the verge of tears, and softly said, "Don’t go, Estelle, please."

Estelle, usually fearless, was dealing with this kind of girl for the first time. He looked at her with frustration, "Are you just going to endure it?"

Chloe just cried and shook her head without speaking.

Feeling irritable, Estelle let out a small grunt, "Fine, if you want it this way, let it be, I won’t meddle!"

After speaking, he turned and left angrily.

Chloe watched him leave, squatting down to cry.

She didn’t want to drag Estelle into it, but it seemed like he was angry. What should she do now?
