Chapter 191: Chapter 161: Request for Aid

Fox Xiaosan said:

"I think the issue isn’t about whether or not to go to war with humans, but rather how to stay alive."

Upon hearing this, the demons were enraged and began to clamor.

"Stay alive? The ones who should be worried about staying alive are the humans!"

"What’s so scary about humans? I killed one a few years back!"

"Exactly, when humans see my Grandpa Hu, they must curse their parents for not giving them two extra legs!"

Fox Xiaosan glared with his fox eyes and rebuked:

"The humans you’ve encountered are nothing more than medicine gatherers, villagers, or hunters!

Those people are the weakest in human society!

Have you seen human firearms?

Your skins, how many bullets can they withstand?

Moreover, are you aware of the Security Administration?

Do you know how many powerful Extraterrestrials are there?!"

The demons closed their mouths.

Crow rubbed his temples:

"Go on."

Fox Xiaosan said solemnly:

"Your Majesty, humans have always been fond of animal fur and even use some animal organs as tonics.

I suspect now they are more interested in the bodies of demons.

Otherwise, they wouldn’t have taken Master Liu’s body."

Crow let out a deep sigh.

This was precisely what he feared.

Having been around Li Yang for so long, Crow knew well how terrifying human desire could be.

Crow asked:

"What’s your opinion?"

Fox Xiaosan pondered for a moment and tentatively asked:

"Let’s leave Changbai Mountain."

Crow laughed self-deprecatingly:

"Where could we possibly run to?"

Fox Xiaosan fell silent.

This is a human’s world; where could they, a group of demons who don’t understand human laws, possibly run to?

At this moment, footsteps were heard at the cave entrance, and Ye Fan walked in.

"Prince Ye."

"Prince Ye has arrived."

The demons all greeted him.

They hated humans, except for Prince Ye and Teacher Xiang.

Heartless Little Monkey, like finding an outlet for his emotions, ran to Ye Fan, jumped up to grab Ye Fan’s collar, eyes wide open:

"Third Brother! You said humans are good, they killed Master Liu! How do you explain that!"

Ye Fan pried Heartless Little Monkey’s hand away, hoarsely opening his mouth:

"Get lost, old man is still alive!"

Only then did Heartless Little Monkey notice that Ye Fan’s pupils were serpent-like, and his voice was different from before.

Heartless Little Monkey froze for a moment:

"You..."

’Ye Fan’ said:

"Fortunately, Ye Fan retrieved my soul, otherwise I’d be truly finished."

The demons understood something.

Master Liu is still alive?

Prince Ye has the means to preserve a demon’s soul?

They couldn’t contain their joy, cheering excitedly while looking at Ye Fan.

Though he had died, it was a blessing in disguise that he wasn’t completely dead.

Ye Fan’s serpent-like pupils disappeared, becoming regular human pupils.

Ye Fan cupped his fist to Crow:

"Big Brother, I have already killed the person who murdered Master Liu."

Crow frowned:

"Killed?"

Ye Fan nodded seriously:

"Their bodies are still on the street."

Crow sighed:

"Killing someone on the street, aren’t you afraid of the trouble?"

Killing for revenge, even a legal illiterate knows that killing someone warrants a death sentence.

Ye Fan shook his head:

"I said before, if demons disturb humans, I kill demons.

If humans disturb demons, I kill humans."

Heartless Little Monkey slowly let go, a hint of guilt in his eyes.

He had heard from his big brother that humans who kill other humans have no place in human society.

Crow knew now wasn’t the time to dwell on this.

Bigger trouble was on the horizon.

Crow sighed, stood up, and started walking towards the outside.

Heartless Little Monkey quickly asked:

"Big Brother, where are you going?"

Crow said:

"You all go to sleep."

Crow didn’t say where he was going; he walked to the door, unfolded a pair of wings, and flew into the sky.

...

South Sea City, Development Zone, Detai Building.

A crow landed by the window of Su Yutang’s suite.

The window was open, and the crow flew in.

The crow transformed into human form, sitting on the sofa, his gaze deep and somber.

He intended to ask Su Yutang for help.

He knew Su Yutang was wealthy; perhaps he could buy an island for the demons to live on?

But the room was empty.

Crow waited for a long time, and slowly, he fell asleep.

He hadn’t slept well in ages.

Until late at night, Crow woke up, and Su Yutang hadn’t returned.

"Sigh!"

Crow sighed, about to leave when he suddenly stopped.

He hadn’t noticed earlier, but now felt a spiritual power fluctuation in the bedroom.

Crow walked in, opened the desk drawer.

Inside was a black piece of paper.

Crow activated Spiritual Power, the dark shadow dispersed, revealing ’words’ inside that only he could read or, rather, some symbols.

It was a letter left for him.

Turns out, Su Yutang went to Huaqi for some collaboration, and wasn’t in South Sea for the time being.

Crow silently put the letter back in the drawer, transformed into a crow, and flew towards the Half-Mountain Villa in the South Sea North District.

...

Half-Mountain Villa.

A crow quietly landed on the wall, hiding in the shadow, tilting its head to look inside the house.

The lights were on, the house was brightly lit.

Through the window, Crow saw Li Yang sitting on the sofa watching TV, Suzu holding a tablet, sitting cross-legged on the carpet, and that silly dog Xiaohai in the kitchen, clutching a bone and wagging his tail.

For a moment, Crow felt a mix of emotions.

Crow had heard such verses from the demons.

’Double the longing for family during holidays.’

It wasn’t a holiday, yet he still missed home.

Crow regretted trusting Suzu back then to snatch some Demon Sword!

Unable to return home, Crow now resembled a pitiful, wronged child.

Truthfully, Crow wasn’t that old; when Li Yang found him, he hadn’t even grown all his feathers.

Crow wanted to fly in and seek Li Yang’s help.

He believed if the master made a move, he could surely protect the demon race.

Even if the master didn’t act, just helping with some ideas would be enough. If it was the master, there would definitely be a way.

Crow felt ashamed to go in, after all, he had left confidently to become the demon emperor.

Thinking of those adorable yet silly demons, Crow still wanted to put aside his pride and fawn over Li Yang.

Crow spread his wings, intending to fly toward the villa window.

Suddenly, the villa’s lights went out, plunging it into darkness.

Crow halted, his eyes slightly reddened.

It felt like reaching the front door, only for his parents to shut it, leaving him feeling abandoned.

"Sigh!"

Crow sighed, just about to head towards Changbai Mountain.

Suddenly, the courtyard lights came on.

Light illuminated Crow’s figure.

Crow paused in his tracks, his eyes slightly reddening.

He saw the villa door open, and a man dressed in pajamas and a trench coat walked out, sitting on the doorstep.

The man took out a lighter and rummaged through his pockets for something.

Finding nothing, his brow furrowed.

Crow quickly flapped his wings, flew to the second floor, and shortly after emerged with a cigarette pack in his beak.

Crow landed on the ground, transformed into a long-haired youth in black clothes, and respectfully handed Li Yang the cigarette pack.

Li Yang’s face showed no emotion, casually taking a cigarette from the pack and lighting it.

Crow obediently stood there as Li Yang smoked intermittently.

The wind blew gently, mixed with the scent of nicotine, and Crow felt comfortable, at ease.
