Chapter 56: Upgrading Spatial Control

"Of course, I don’t want to die, and I don’t want the world to be destroyed. So for now, let’s just focus on the upcoming Spirit Invasion."

"Liam, ring the bell and release the announcement. If anyone wishes to become a hunter, they can come to me in the office for a Natural Fruit."

"Jacob, find John and bring him outside the city to create large walls around the city."

"Although they wouldn’t be that useful, they could at least give us some time to react."

"Martin, you will be working with Alex. If there is anything you can teach him about using this formation, you can do it."

Tyler turned towards Alex and nodded his head.

Upon hearing his instructions, they immediately followed, leaving behind only Misaka and Tyler.

"This is gonna be a tough battle." Tyler murmured.

"Lord, if something goes wrong, I will take you away." Misaka said with a stubbornness in her tone.

Tyler nodded, not because he was afraid but simply because he wouldn’t be able to convince her.

"Let’s return to my mansion! Since we are in a hurry, I need to get things done."

A few minutes later, they were already inside his mansion.

Tyler took out several of the Natural Fruits and gave them to Misaka. He instructed her to give these fruits to any volunteer.

On the other hand, he went to his bed and took out a Natural Fruit.

He ate it without much hesitation, but this time, he was only able to fill one-third of his ability space.

So, he ate two more Natural Fruits and finally, his space was full.

After completing this step, he proceeded to the second step, where he started manifesting skills in his ability crystal.

This step took him some time. Since he hadn’t thought of the skill beforehand, he had to carefully come up with some ideas in a short time.

But thanks to the memories of his past life, he managed to create the skills one after another.

[Fourth Skill- Moving Being]

It was a skill that allowed him to control the movements of his enemy. It could not only control them but also restrict their movements.

The control worked against enemies weaker than him, while restrictions work against enemies just as strong as him.

[Fifth Skill- Cube]

Using this skill, he could create four space barriers that could wrap around someone from all directions.

This allowed him to trap someone within the barrier, but this cube could also act as a defensive skill, like the barrier.

[Sixth Skill- Mind Swap]

This was one of the most difficult skills that took him the most time to create. Because it could swap the minds of people, just like the name suggests.

This was a great skill, but just like his previous shadow skills, it cost a bit too much of his stamina or Aura.

So, it wasn’t a skill he could use on normal occasions.

Though he created it just to be similar to Shambles.

But his progress didn’t stop there. He had only managed to reach Second Rank.

Now, he had to reach the Eighth Rank, and he had to do this before the invasion started.

[Seventh Skill- Flight]

Using this skill, he could basically control himself like his enemy and use it to fly around.

That’s why the name of this skill was Flight. That’s all there was to this skill.

Of course, the main reason behind creating these skills was to give him Telekinesis in a later stage.

Then, Matter Manipulation is in a higher stage. Finally, Reality Manipulation is an ultimate skill.

That became his main goal, but that goal was a bit too far from him.

Right now, he was only focused on controlling the small things and learning small skills.

Like his eighth skill.

[Eighth Skill- Auto Panel]

Unlike the second skill and fifth skill, this was more focused on instinct to release a small panel of space that could block the attack.

The space wasn’t going to be big, but it was going to be fast enough to block the speed attack from his enemy.

More importantly, it could be used once, and it would continue to work until his Aura was exhausted.

This was one of its weaknesses. It needed the cooperation of Aura to work because it needed Aura to sense the danger.

This skill was created to help him create a heroic skill that could block any kind of attack and ultimately control the space as well.

But that was a far shore dream. Right now, he just needed something practical, which was why he created another important skill.

[Ninth Skill- Portal]

This skill allowed him to control the space as an energy to cut it apart and create a passage between two points of space.

It meant he had successfully solved the problem of group travel. That being said, the longer the distance, the more consumption he would face.

He always wondered why this kind of thing would consume more.

After all, the distance between two teleportation points didn’t matter since it would be instantaneous.

But almost in every single story, the longer the distance, the higher the consumption was, like a rule.

But while creating this skill, he came to an understanding of how space worked.

Portal worked based on his ability to cut two different points of space and connect them.

The cutting part was the main point behind this skill.

The first point would obviously be in front of him, so it would be easy.

But the second point would either be close or far away. If it were just close, it wouldn’t take him long to spread his spatial control.

But once the distance was increased, he would need to spend more energy to spread his spatial control further away.

The best way to combat this situation was to remember the spatial coordinates of the places he wanted to visit using a portal.

In fact, remembering the spatial coordinates was very important because this meant they could spread out their spatial power, outside of their sensory capacity.

A short distance didn’t require the spatial coordinates.

Spatial Coordinates were basically the nodes of space-time that had their own Aura connected to it.

It wasn’t a string of numbers but rather the positioning in space-time, located by a trace of his Aura.

That’s why stealing from the houses of the top tier was considered foolish.

While lower-ranking hunters couldn’t find such a small trace of Aura, the higher-ranking hunters could easily sniff it out.

And using that aura, they could easily sniff him out as well.

This was why portals or any sort of long-distance teleportation wasn’t used to steal resources from rich people.

This skill would allow him to learn teleportation, an actual teleportation instead of swapping in the future.

Maybe he could even learn Spatial Displacement in the future.

Instead of moving around the universe, how about moving the universe around?

This was the potential of his skill.

But for now, those were too far away from him.

With nine skills condensed and his cultivation reaching Third Rank, he was already prepared for the enemies.

But when he opened his eyes, he found the sunlight through his window.

"Ace, how long has it been?"

"Sir, you have been practicing the entire night."

"So, I wasn’t too fast or slow."

Tyler nodded his head with satisfaction, realizing that he had reached the Third Stage with his Second Ability.

Yes, second! Since he had merged two of his abilities into one, he only had two skills left.

He couldn’t help but feel excited about his skill set.

For his Shadow Totem Ability, he had [First Skill- Shadow Flame], [Second Skill- Shadow Summoning], [Third Skill- Shadow Armor], and [Fourth Skill- Lightning Chain].

And, this was only the list of his first ability. The list for his second ability was obviously longer.

[First Skill- Object Control] [Second Skill- Barrier] [Third Skill- Shambles]

[Fourth Skill- Moving Being] [Fifth Skill- Cube] [Sixth Skill- Mind Swap]

[Seventh Skill- Flight] [Eighth Skill- Auto Panel] [Ninth Skill- Portal]

With his current set, he had a chance to reach Fourth Rank with his second ability.

If he had only had a month or two.

He didn’t think he had any problem with the way he had developed his skills.

Object Control + Moving Being + Flight = Telekinesis

Barrier + Cube + Auto Panel = Automatic Defenses

Shambles + Mind Swap + Portal = Teleportation.

This was his current card, but right now, he couldn’t try to reach Fourth Rank.

"It’s gonna be a difficult battle."

He stood up from the bed and walked towards his door.

He gently opened the door and walked out with a bright smile on his face.

"But I am not afraid."

"Sir! Good morning!"

When he entered his office, Misaka greeted him with a smile.

"Good Morning, Misaka!"

"Congratulations, Sir!" Misaka said.

Tyler nodded and went to his seat. But he had only warmed his chair for a few minutes when the door of his office opened, and Rose barged in, shouting.

"Lord, the Invasion is only ten kilometers away!"
