Ultimate Gamer System: Factory Must Grow!-Chapter 83: [///error///]
Quite likely for the very first time since his exile, Theo woke up… perfectly well-rested, calm, and relaxed.
With just enough time left before the invasion, he took his sweet time slowly snacking on the berry mush before opting for the luxurious option of drinking three whole berries by taking merely one gulp of the angelic juice from each.
Then, as the sun started to rise, as signified by the changing shadows cast by the tops of the trees, Theo made two rounds around his entire ring of defense.
Every connection, be it of a belt or a power line, was checked. Every gun turret confirmed green, the switchboard in a simple concrete bunker-tower allowed Theo to control each of the four sectors of his moat, switching the electricity at will.
Before fully moving over to the control tower that Theo erected right next to his mansion, he still made sure to do the very last thing that he could test only now when the invasion timer was about to run out anyway.
And with just five minutes left before the attack, it no longer mattered whether or not the sound of the guns going off would attract an attack.
"Now, let’s see…" Merely by touching the side of the gun turret, Theo could feel his vision splitting between what was before his eyes and a different, slightly elevated position overlooking just a narrow chunk of the outer land of Theo’s claim.
And quite noticeably, this elevated point of view Theo now had allowed him to reach even beyond the narrow line of the stone wall off in the distance.
’Now that I think about it, it’s really a blessing I can modify the terrain around,’ Theo thought as he stared off into the horizon. ’Without it, I would have to move all my factories out into the open. And by now, they could easily take a fourth of the space within my compound!’
Theo shook his head… only to realize that the point of his additional vision moved with the shakes of his physical head, allowing him to rather intuitively move the center point of the added PoV focus.
And that could only mean one thing.
’So I can aim them by myself after all,’ Theo grinned to his own thoughts, only to then just… will for the gun to shoot.
Bang!
The first round… couldn’t be any more impressive.
With a loud bang, the whole gun turret shook… or rather, it appeared to when it knocked off all the dust that lay down on its concrete surface.
Still… rather than a gun, this was a freaking artillery!
Even if only a kinetic one.
There was no smoke from the shot, neither by the barrel of the entrenched gun nor in the area it struck.
The source of this c𝐨ntent is freёnovelkiss.com.
Sure, the impact was heavy enough to cut through several trees while knocking off a few more, but the cloud that rose above it was that of dust and dirt rather than smoke and soot born in an explosion.
’I guess that explains the missing gunpowder in the recipe,’ Theo thought, taking note of the power of the gun.
And even though he only had about four minutes before the invasion left, he still decided to continue with his tests for a bit.
"Now, let’s try a series."
With a grin growing up on his lips, Theo happily pushed the mental image of what he wanted the gun emplacement to do to the absolute limit.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
One by one, with just a breath of delay between, heavy copper shells shot out from the gun’s long barrel, only to bring forth absolute crushing and devastation anywhere they reached.
’This is really damn fun!’
Smiling to himself like an idiot, Theo then sharply pulled his head to the side, locking his eyes on the next tower in the ring.
’Now, a few at the same time!’
With a single tug of his will, Theo expanded his secondary vision to a total of six or so guns, his precise perception dulling with the number of guns he simultaneously controlled.
Still, with the soul-order, all of them started to unload their ammunition.
To Theo’s side, the ring of belts, filled to the brim with fresh casings of ammo, now moved, rushing to replenish whatever ammo he had already used.
But it wasn’t a worrying sight. At the current rate, even with all of his guns shooting all at once… Theo produced exactly the amount of ammo needed to supplement them all. That’s why, for as long as it could get properly delivered, his ammo would never run dry.
Then again…
BaBaBaBaBaBANG!
The guns all spoke in the same voice, their shells violently prying their way through the tense air, bearing upon the unsuspecting, innocent trees.
And as the entire forest appeared to shake in recoil from the salvo, Theo took a deep breath… before hurriedly retreating within the limits of his wooden walls and then securing the gate behind him. A moment later, he already appeared in his watchtower, erected smack-dab in the middle of his claim.
From this elevated and reinforced position, he could easily observe all that was happening within the borders of the compound. That finally gave his outer stone walls some degree of usefulness, creating an enclosed perimeter where he hoped to hold back all the invading challengers.
For now, though, he moved on to the last phase of his tests, the phase that couldn’t even begin any sooner than the invasion itself.
’They are supposed to work on their own, but now that it comes to this, will they?’
Looking down from the narrow shutters of his watchtower, Theo locked his eyes on the dense ring of guns.
Up until this point, his system had always provided him with all the means he needed to get through the challenges. And while the dangers only continued to grow at an ever-increasing rate…
Theo couldn’t help but relax.

’Any moment now, huh?’ Theo thought, breathing out in a bid to control his heart through a disciplined breathing routine.

The system screamed out, only for a narrow square of Theo’s vision to explode with light that then quickly coalesced back down into a screen with what looked like a live feed from some sort of magical CCTV.
And on it, a bunch of people were now jumping down from the edge of Theo’s stone wall, their faces as full of vigilance as their hands were full of weapons.
