Undead Evolution: From Trash To Divine-Chapter 43: Fierce Battle
The mysterious monster’s shriek was like a sonic attack, shaking Lukas’s vision and making it difficult for him to focus on anything. The world around him blurred.
This is bad...
Lukas internally yelled. The situation was deteriorating too fast. Although he couldn’t identify what kind of monster this was, but one thing was clear, it was vastly stronger than him.
A monster of Second Sequence rank..?
As soon as this thought appeared in Lukas’s mind, it felt as if a basin of cold water had been poured over his shoulders.
From Tommy first noticing the mysterious monster to the moment the sonic attack happened, it had all taken only the blink of an eye. It just took too long to describe.
While Lukas’s heart felt as if it had been dropped into some frozen hell, the mysterious monster—Star Eater—finally moved. Its shadowy form took one step and appeared dangerously close to Lukas as if it had teleported. Its shadowy figure bristled with dozens of black tentacles, each shooting toward Lukas’s limbs.
Gravity Pressure!
Almost instinctively, Lukas’s figure faintly glowed. The space around him distorted as gravity suddenly doubled. The gravity may have doubled, but for the Star Eater the change seemed negligible. Its tentacles only paused for a brief moment before continuing to move.
However, this small window of hesitation was enough time for Lukas to react. Holding the copper sword tightly, he swung it vertically upward in a clear slash.
Ring!
Lukas’s hand shook as if he had struck a piece of iron, almost causing the sword to fall out of his grip.
Even when he managed to block a few of the tentacles from piercing a hole through his body, there were just too many.
Argh!
A pained yelp escaped his throat as both of his shoulders were directly pierced by the tentacles, like two nails going in from one side and coming out the other.
Damn... it’s so painful...!
After transmigrating, this might be the first time Lukas had been injured. Blood flowed out in large quantities, staining his clothes crimson.
In the distance, the soul fire in Tommy’s eyes flared intensely. Even without Lukas issuing any command, Tommy roared and charged toward the Star Eater.
The only one still standing frozen like an idiot was the Astral Bone Vanguard. Compared to Tommy, Astral Bone Vanguard’s intelligence was similar to an infant’s. If not directly given instructions, it couldn’t take decisions on its own.
Lukas’s entire focus was on the Star Eater, leaving him no attention to spare for anything else. He gritted his teeth and tried to ignore the pain, but maybe because the Star Eater’s tentacles were laced with poison or something else, the wounds burned as if molten lead had been poured into them.
Grrr!
The Star Eater opened its mouth and let out another terrifying shriek, revealing its hollow maw like a dark abyss.
Not again...!
Lukas ignored the pain and jumped to the side, expecting another barrage of tentacle attacks.
Just as he had expected, the next moment the same scene from before repeated itself. Multiple sharp spear-like tentacles shot out from the Star Eater’s back again, this time aiming for Lukas’s vitals—his heart and head.
The sound of ground hammering echoed.
Tommy came running from the distance, his bones glowing like pieces of divine jade. Before the tentacles could hit Lukas’s body, Tommy jumped in between, standing between the two like an impregnable shield. Even though the distance between Tommy and the monster wasn’t that large, this wasn’t instinct either. His two hands glowed like blinking torches, and a slash of compressed sword energy shot out toward the Star Eater.
Sizzle!
The air burned as the star-energy slash tore through the air and moved toward the Star Eater, striking the monster directly in the chest. However, it was no ordinary monster. The Star Eater was only pushed back a few steps, having completely absorbed the impact.
Meanwhile, with each step that Lukas took, Meteor Momentum pushed his body closer to the young awakener’s corpse.
Both of his arms were trembling, seemingly refusing to move. The attack from before had not just pierced Lukas’s shoulders but also seemed to have torn the joints that allowed his arms to move freely. If his arms couldn’t move freely, then his sword skill would be completely useless. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
In no time, Lukas was above the dead awakener’s cold corpse.
Forgive me, but I have no choice.
He silently muttered while focusing Parasitic Overgrowth on the awakener’s body.
Next, a bowl-sized hole appeared in the awakener’s chest. Parasitic Overgrowth used the dead rotting matter to rapidly heal the wounds on Lukas’s shoulders.
Lukas felt a burning sensation on his skin as the muscles rapidly began to close the wound. A faint cracking sound echoed as the bones and joints rapidly grew back. To fuel this rapid healing, the entire corpse of the dead awakener disappeared as if it had never existed.
Noticing this, Lukas’s expression twisted; he felt slightly bad.
However, he ignored the guilt for now and continued to use Parasitic Overgrowth. In no time, the poor awakener’s corpse disappeared, turning into medicine that healed Lukas’s wounds.
While he was healing, Tommy and the Star Eater clashed multiple times. Although Tommy was already an epic-rank creature, compared to the Star Eater there was still a considerable gap in strength.
Once over a dozen tentacles collectively hit Tommy’s skeletal figure, the impact generated by the attack sent Tommy’s giant figure flying into the air like a dirt ball. The soul fire in his eyes flickered. After being airborne for a few moments, Tommy’s figure landed on the rough patch of ground.
Tommy, are you okay?
Lukas instinctively asked while moving closer. He had never watched Tommy get beaten like this before.
Dang it! What to do..!
If things continued at this rate, Star eater would kill him and absorb his stars just like the poor awakener.
Lukas didn’t want to die, not again.
No the battle is not over yet, there is still one trump card left that i have yet to use.
