Chapter 302: Chapter 302: Eric Holt’s Appearance

Just arrived at Seabrook, barely finding her footing, she absolutely had to secure this project in one go, even if the other party was Seraphina Sinclair. She must succeed in completing this project to establish herself in the Seabrook Group.

To win a beautiful comeback battle, this step was necessary.

Seraphina Sinclair and Nina Kerr have always been at odds, and had numerous clashes at Diamond Island. Although business and personal grievances are separate matters, if they were to collaborate, Seraphina would be the client.

And she was a demanding client.

Originally, Seraphina was fairly satisfied with the collaboration this time. If they could smoothly cooperate, developing the school district real estate would yield nothing but high profits.

But now that the liaison was Nina Kerr, it was a different story.

The confident demeanor of Nina Kerr made Seraphina feel very uncomfortable. Her eyes chilled slightly, and she curled her lips into a heart-pounding smile: "Miss Kerr, I’m a bit tired today, let’s talk another day."

"But this project is quite promising, and there are not a few who want to compete for it. If you, Vivian, consider for too long, should there be a more suitable investor we..." Seraphina stood up to leave, and Nina finally couldn’t hold back and stood up.

Seraphina calmly turned her head, her narrowed eyes carrying a hint of a smile that didn’t reach them: "Miss Kerr, you know the one thing I’m least afraid of is threats. If you think you can find a more suitable collaborator, why did you come here today? Your appearance at Kevin already says everything, doesn’t it?"

Her words left Nina speechless, only watching helplessly as Seraphina left, unable to do anything.

Outside the gate of Kevin, as Nina waited for a car at the corner, she stomped her foot heavily, looking extremely unwilling.

Seraphina’s office had a clear view of the street in front of Kevin’s entrance, and Nina’s actions at the intersection were entirely in Seraphina’s sight.

Irene Rowe, holding coffee, stood before the floor-to-ceiling window, involuntarily laughing: "Seems you really rattled Nina?"

"This is not Diamond Island. If she wants to find a piece of land to settle, it depends on whether she has the ability." Seraphina replied while flipping through documents, without lifting her head.

"True enough, at Diamond Island she was indeed the enviable little princess everyone cherished, fearing to offend her and incur the displeasure of the White Family. But now that Old Master White verbally disowned her, she came on her own to Bayside City to compete with you, unless someone wants to help her."

Irene knew very well that since the White Family visibly cut ties with her, any possible help would be limited. Bayside City had been Seraphina’s domain for over twenty years, was she afraid of a newbie like Nina?

Of course not.

Unless, she had a backing.

Backing, Nina certainly had; otherwise, she couldn’t suddenly become a high executive at Seabrook Group.

As for who this backing might be, besides Desmond Fairchild, Seraphina had no other guesses.

They were back in Bayside City, yet was Desmond really going to oppose her for Nina?

After work, passing a restaurant where she’d dined with Desmond, a wave of nostalgia hit Seraphina.

She stopped the car and walked in, the surroundings bathed her in familiar sensations.

"Hello, how many in your party?" The server approached her warmly.

Seraphina briefly glanced at the server, nodding: "Two."

"Hello, this way please."

She said two, but in reality, she was alone.

Just after taking her seat, she overheard the server who had welcomed her excitedly telling a colleague: "President Sinclair, who came to our shop before, is here again, but it seems she’s alone this time. We don’t know if we’ll get the chance to see President Fairchild again."

Seraphina and Desmond were celebrities in Bayside City, but compared to the low-profile Desmond, Seraphina with her past negative news was more well-known.

Many women, upon knowing she was with Desmond, were greatly envious. After they broke up, many felt sympathy for her, as she became somewhat part of them reducing their hostility towards her.

Now, everyone knew Desmond and Seraphina had broken up, even the servers here were no exception.

"Actually, I think Miss Sinclair and President Fairchild really suited each other, but why did they break up? Was it really because President Fairchild cheated?"

"What else could it be? A man whose heart isn’t there, what’s the point in trying to hold on? Better to let go early."

"But President Fairchild is very wealthy, nowadays many successful people see marriage as leverage, don’t wealthy people care more about money than love? Isn’t money the priority, anything is negotiable if there’s money."

"I disagree, sure money is important, but it doesn’t outweigh feelings. President Sinclair went through a failed marriage; she probably values these things more. Besides, why would President Sinclair care about Fairchild’s money with the wealth she has?"

The other server nodded firmly, convinced: "You have a point, Miss Sinclair doesn’t seem to lack money, a beautiful and wealthy woman like her has the privilege to choose any man she wants."

"Alright, alright, stop the gossip. You better go see what President Sinclair wants to order, we must serve her well, she might come to support our place next time."

"Okay, I’m on my way."

Seraphina had excellent hearing; she caught their conversation clearly.

Unexpectedly, there were some who stood by her perspective. Before, when her scandal broke out, public opinion was almost entirely against her, not a single person was on her side.

Had she known there were people thinking of her, she perhaps wouldn’t have been so down then. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

After randomly ordering a few special dishes, Seraphina sat quietly by the window, her gaze wandering through the passing crowd and vehicles outside.

Suddenly, a familiar silhouette of a car entered her view, a black Ferrari—Desmond’s car.

Through the open window of the car, she could clearly see a woman seated in the passenger side beside Desmond, but from such a distance, she couldn’t make out the woman’s face, only guessing it was Nina through the hairstyle.

Indeed, Nina came to Bayside City because of Desmond.

"What are you thinking about? So lost in thought?" A teasing voice pulled Seraphina back to reality; she turned her head to see Eric Holt standing in front of her, smiling widely.

"Little Master Holt?" Seraphina was a bit surprised, "Didn’t expect to see you here."

Eric nodded subtly: "Coincidentally, I came in only after spotting you outside."

Eric truly was a conversational genius; his words would charm any girl, but not Seraphina, she found him quite annoying.

"So? Does Little Master Holt have business with me?" Seraphina barely lifted her eyelids, maintaining a natural dislike towards him, the man gave her a terrible vibe, and she was unwilling to waste time engaging with him.

"You don’t need to be so formal, call me Eric." Eric was naturally sociable, didn’t wait for Seraphina’s consent before sitting across from her, starting to set the table as if ready for dinner together.
