Unexpected Marriage: She is the Sugar Mommy!-Chapter 309: Trouble Occurs
This is the outcome Desmond Fairchild least wanted to see.
At that time, he was worried about this situation, which is why he asked Seraphina Sinclair to have an abortion. Taking the initiative to abort is much better than a passive miscarriage.
Now Seraphina Sinclair is lying on the cold operating table, and he can’t do anything for her.
"Anyway, don’t worry too much, I believe Seraphina is lucky and will be fine," Quentin Jennings didn’t know what to say and could only comfort Desmond Fairchild.
After all, there is no outcome yet; whether it’s good or bad, they don’t know, so they can only wish Seraphina Sinclair good luck from the bottom of their hearts.
Keith Hughes listened to their conversation and couldn’t help but butt in, "President Fairchild is really selfish; the child belongs to Seraphina, and coercing her into an abortion was already disrespectful. Now you’re pretending to be considerate; don’t you find it disgusting?"
"Who are you? How is it your place to comment on Master Fairchild’s matters?" Quentin Jennings never liked Keith Hughes’ high-minded attitude since he walked in, and now that he spoke, it was the perfect opportunity to confront him.
"His business may not concern me, but you not only hurt Seraphina but also dare to put on a show here. Isn’t that laughable? The one who abandoned Seraphina was you; now you’re acting all devoted—who are you trying to impress?" Keith Hughes sneered at Desmond Fairchild.
He understood that perhaps Desmond Fairchild had his own reasons for leaving Seraphina Sinclair, but that didn’t change the fact that he had hurt her.
If it weren’t for him, Seraphina Sinclair wouldn’t be suffering today.
Desmond Fairchild didn’t rebut, but Quentin Jennings couldn’t listen anymore: "You sure have a lot to manage; you seem very concerned about other people’s family affairs."
"Seraphina is not just anyone." Keith Hughes sneered, "If President Fairchild could make Seraphina happy, I wouldn’t interfere in your matters. Since you can’t do that, I advise you to stay away from Seraphina and stop causing her trouble."
Desmond Fairchild gritted his teeth and replied word by word, "I am not trouble."
"Do you need me to remind you whether you are trouble or not? Why does Seraphina have to be involved in your Fairchild Family’s family feud? Today’s matters are surely linked to your Fairchild Group’s internal conflicts. Does President Fairchild still think he’s not trouble?" Keith Hughes looked at Desmond Fairchild with indifference, wondering how he could have handed Seraphina Sinclair over to such a man.
Had he known this, he should never have let Seraphina go, making her repeatedly wounded by a scumbag.
Saying he’s not regretful is false, but now, no matter what he says, it’s too late; Seraphina Sinclair has already reached this point, with no chance to turn back.
Unless she truly can forget Desmond Fairchild and let go of her obsession with him, perhaps life could be easier.
Yet, given Seraphina Sinclair’s character, Keith Hughes knows too well, she says she’s already cut ties with Desmond Fairchild, but her expression changes every time she hears about him.
Falling in love with someone makes it harder to forget them than to fall for them.
Because Keith Hughes understood this principle, he hadn’t forced himself to confess to Seraphina Sinclair; he thought he should give her more time—she would eventually let go.
Yet, Desmond Fairchild remains persistent, daring to show up despite having hurt her so deeply?
The more he thought about it, the more ridiculous it seemed; this is Desmond Fairchild.
Quentin Jennings frowned, very dissatisfied with Keith Hughes’ attitude: "I say, Keith Hughes, can’t you mind your own business? Hasn’t anyone taught you not to meddle in affairs you shouldn’t? Who do you think you are, a savior?"
"What, feeling guilty now? Not courageous enough to admit?" Keith Hughes coldly laughed, "Desmond Fairchild, if I were you, I’d stay far away from Seraphina. As long as you stay far away, she won’t get hurt. Think carefully about the past; how many times has she been hurt because of you? You must know very well."
Desmond Fairchild pressed his thin lips together and didn’t refute.
He couldn’t refute because Keith Hughes spoke the truth.
"As long as you’re around, she will never find peace," Keith Hughes sighed deeply, "if you truly care about her, don’t show up again."
Desmond Fairchild finally spoke, "I can’t do that. I won’t give up on her."
If it were before, he might have continued to leave Seraphina Sinclair. But now, he won’t make that choice.
Their relationship was already known by everyone, so although they had broken up, many people knew she was Desmond Fairchild’s fiancée. Many troubles and vendettas would still come to her.
If he leaves now, who will protect her?
Quentin Jennings also advised him secretly: "Yes, Master Fairchild, don’t listen to Keith Hughes’ nonsense. Sooner or later, Seraphina will reconcile with you; don’t act recklessly."
At night, she already showed an inclination to reconcile; if he suddenly leaves now, it would undoubtedly worsen their relationship further. If he wants to mend things, there will be no way back then.
Desmond Fairchild understood this logic very well; he wouldn’t deny his feelings for Seraphina Sinclair because of a few words from Keith Hughes.
Perhaps their relationship will indeed face many dangers, but he would exhaust every effort to protect Seraphina Sinclair properly.
"Truly you’re deluded; do you really have to harm Seraphina for you to be satisfied?" Keith Hughes couldn’t understand Desmond Fairchild’s actions, "With this entanglement, do you think she will forgive you? I tell you, Seraphina now hates you deeply; no matter what you do, she won’t forgive you. You better not waste your effort."
Desmond Fairchild laughed hearing this, "You’re just deceiving yourself; I know very well how she feels about me. Perhaps right now, she resents me, hates me, but I have time to make her forgive me."
"Really? Then let’s wait and see." Keith Hughes snorted coldly, turned away, and stopped debating with Desmond Fairchild.
Some answers can only be found with Seraphina Sinclair.
Quentin Jennings saw Keith Hughes finally quiet down and pulled Desmond Fairchild aside to talk. "I’ve already had people investigate that casino. It seems to be under Ian Lynch’s operation, and the people who hurt Seraphina have also been caught, waiting for your decision when you return."
"Keep them locked up for now," Desmond Fairchild said in a low voice.
"I understand," Quentin Jennings nodded.
Those people are practically begging for death, provoking Desmond Fairchild of all people. As for Ian Lynch, opening such an underground casino and daring to order his men to target Seraphina Sinclair, it’s obviously a challenge to Cloudsea Group.
Quentin Jennings already anticipated their fate, including Ian Lynch himself, who might as well be finished.
Now it all depends on Seraphina Sinclair’s situation; if it’s not too bad, perhaps they can die decently. If Seraphina’s situation is dire, they might die horribly.
The surgery proceeded slowly, and Desmond Fairchild hadn’t notified anyone else, only Jude Sinclair was brought over by Chloe Irving.
Watching the light in the operating room remain unchanged for so long, Jude Sinclair regretted not having come along.
