Unexpected Marriage With Mr. Leighton: Rebirth of the Villain-Chapter 53: THE TRUTH HURT
Chapter 53: THE TRUTH HURT
At first, Hazel thought Greyson would lash out again after what she said. It was mean, and she intended that to hurt.
But as it turned out, her father actually looked stunned. He looked almost like he was very shocked by what she said, which was very funny because how could he get hurt by such truth?
"What did you say?"
"I wish you had died instead of mother."
Greyson asked for it, and Hazel didn’t mind repeating it again for him. For a split second Hazel thought he was going to slap her hard, but he didn’t.
This man must be very delusional to think he was not in the wrong in all of this time. He should have seen this coming.
Right now, Greyson was standing in front of Hazel, staring at her in disbelief as if she just grew a second head.
"I wish Mother were here. If it were Mother, I wouldn’t need to endure the abuse that came from you. I didn’t need to feel the pain of your belt, and more importantly, Mother will not blame me for your death and hate me for it."
No. Hazel didn’t know about that, honestly. Hazel’s mother could be worse than Greyson, but Hazel wanted him to be hurt.
It was time someone told him how shitty of a parent he was.
"Should I say it again?" Hazel looked at Greyson defiantly. She was trying to gauge his emotion, but all she could see was pain. It was almost laughable because how could he be in such pain when he had hurt the real Hazel for as long as she could remember?
This man didn’t deserve pity. He was too far gone to even feel remorse for what he had done.
Hazel could feel the loneliness and the pain, the sadness and the sorrow, from the original Hazel, and this fueled her anger even more.
"I am going to leave now, and I am not going to wear that wedding dress. If you really want it, you can wear it on my wedding day." Hazel looked him up and down. "Mother would have been ashamed to see what you have done to her children. If you were to meet Mother tomorrow, would you be able to tell her proudly of how your children love you?"
That was clearly an insult, and Hazel’s last word sounded like she wished him death.
In the past, she would have had a broken nose to even breathe such words, yet Greyson was still reeling with the fact that his timid daughter was talking back to him.
After saying that, Hazel turned around and left the room, leaving Greyson by himself. The man stood there for a long time, staring at the distance.
Gradually, he then stared at the wedding dress. He remembered clearly how beautiful his wife was when she was wearing that dress. He also remembered what she said.
She wished they would have a girl, a baby girl, because one day when she grew up and was in her happiest moment in her life, on her wedding day, she wished she could see her daughter wearing the same dress.
She wanted this dress to be passed down to the next generation.
Greyson still remembered that, and he intended for Hazel to fulfill that dream.
He was indeed a bad father, but he loved his wife so much. When she left, he didn’t know what to do with the children, especially with the baby. He didn’t have any idea how to deal with Hazel.
He himself was raised without a sister, and the way he treated his children was the way his father had treated him; that was how his father raised him all that time.
Corporal punishment was something normal; therefore, without his wife, who would give gentleness to the children, the only thing that Greyson knew how to raise their children was the way he was raised by his father.
As it turned out, he ruined his relationship with his children. He hated his father, and the history repeated itself. His children hated him.
Hazel was right... His late wife wouldn’t be happy to see how his relationship with his children turned out.

"Ugh. That man spoiled my mood."
Hazel grumbled; she went to her bedroom and stared at the walk-in closet. She stopped to think about what she should do next.
As Hazel refused to wear her late mother’s wedding dress, she needed to find another alternative, and the only way she could think of was Olivia.
Olivia was a designer. She was not famous yet. Her career was stuck because her parents didn’t agree with her career choice so they hindered her in any way possible.
Well, she couldn’t say she was her best friend because they weren’t particularly close with each other.
To be honest, they used to fight and compete when they were in high school, but one thing that Hazel had to admit was Olivia had a knack for being a great designer, if it was not for her parents’ interference in every step of the way.
And there was one fact about it, it was: River actually had bought a wedding dress from Olivia half a year ago, despite not knowing when Arlo would marry her since both of them were very busy at that time.
However, it was her impulsiveness that pushed her to buy it.
Yet, because of so many things that happened, the dress was still with Olivia. Safely secured in her small boutique.
The problem now is how to get there; it was a little bit tricky because Hazel had to trick Nolu and Yara to get away from the house since she didn’t want them to follow her around.
More so, it was not only about the wedding dress, but also there was a place that Hazel needed to visit, and she couldn’t let those two come.
Well, Ranon would be mad, but let him get mad. There was nothing he could do to punish her, right?
