Unrivaled Miracle Doctor: The God-Defying Demonic Consort-Chapter 69: The Girl in the Abandoned Garden (Part 2)
Alas, brother it is.
Mu Qingge resignedly raised her hand, lightly patting the young girl’s head, and softly said, "Lianlian is also very pretty."
During their conversation, the girl seemed to forget that she didn’t actually know Mu Qingge. When Mu Qingge finished speaking, she pouted and shook her head: "Lianlian is not beautiful. Mother Concubine said, Lianlian’s cuteness is unmatched, but her beauty doesn’t compare with sister Yao." In her words, the girl seemed a bit disheartened and sneaked a glance at Mu Qingge, murmuring, "And I’m even less comparable to brother."
Mother Concubine?!
This term made Mu Qingge have some suspicions in her heart.
Could it be, that the girl in front of her is also one of the Emperor’s daughters? As soon as she thought of the Royal Family connections, Mu Qingge’s initial fondness for her waned a bit.
"Do you really want to be beautiful?" Mu Qingge suddenly asked, with a slightly colder tone.
The girl didn’t seem to pick up on the subtle shift in tone; she simply shook her head innocently and said, "Lianlian is very satisfied with her looks. Mother Concubine said my appearance is a very fortunate one." After saying this, she earnestly nodded at Mu Qingge.
Mu Qingge squinted her eyes, linking the girl’s prior statements and becoming somewhat clear in her thoughts.
Presumably, this little Princess grew up in the Royal Family, surrounded by people with outstanding appearances, which made her feel a bit disheartened about her own ordinariness. However, she has a good mother who kept her grounded amidst vanity, preserving her innocence.
"What are you doing here?" Mu Qingge’s gaze dimmed as she asked.
The girl blinked, her long lashes like fans. Suddenly, she said aggrievedly, "Lianlian twisted her ankle. Qing’er went to find someone to rescue Lianlian."
Mu Qingge’s gaze followed her words, falling on her ankle covered by her dress.
Lowering her gaze, Mu Qingge said lightly, "In that case, I won’t disturb you." With that, she prepared to turn and leave.
"Brother, are you leaving?" The little Princess called out to Mu Qingge anxiously.
Mu Qingge slightly turned her head, curling her lips into a mild smile, "I accidentally stumbled into this place, so naturally, I should leave now."
"Brother, stay here with Lianlian and wait for Qing’er, please." The little Princess begged in a soft voice.
Mu Qingge turned back, meeting her clear eyes.
The purity in them melted away her worries.
Sighing softly inside, she walked towards the little Princess again.
She initially didn’t want to get too involved with people of the Royal Family, yet she couldn’t go against her own feelings.
"Let me first help you out." Mu Qingge said as she approached the little Princess.
But the little Princess pitifully shook her head, "Lianlian’s foot hurts too much, I can’t move."
A twisted ankle naturally hurts.
Mu Qingge was somewhat surprised, considering their conversation had gone on for so long, the little Princess hadn’t shown any signs of irritation from the pain.
The little Princess curled up in the grass, looking up at her with large bewildered eyes, which softened Mu Qingge’s heart, prompting her to bend down and gently lift the girl into her arms, carrying her out of the grass.
This sudden act made the little Princess cover her mouth and let out a small cry.
Her cheeks instantly flushed red.
"Brother, please put me down," the little Princess whispered softly.
Mu Qingge placed the little Princess on the steps of a building, not realizing that in her male guise, such contact with an unmarried girl was against social proprieties.
"Sitting here is more comfortable than in the grass," Mu Qingge said nonchalantly, patting the clothes on herself.
The little Princess nodded, the blush having spread to her soft ears.
"What is this place?" Glancing at the desolation around her, Mu Qingge asked.
The little Princess finally raised her head from her shyness, her eyes glistening with admiration as she looked at Mu Qingge’s beautiful profile, and said, "This is Lianlian’s secret base. It’s been a long time since anyone came here, only Lianlian and Qing’er come here often to play. Oh! And brother Chen, but his health isn’t very good, so he rarely comes."
Mu Qingge’s lips twitched. This little Princess was too naive, spilling all her secrets without anyone prying.
"What’s so fun about this?" Mu Qingge found it a bit hard to understand.
"Playing hide and seek!" The little Princess’s eyes suddenly sparkled with excitement, just like a playful child seeing her favorite toy.
’Hehe.’
This place certainly suits the game of hide and seek.
Mu Qingge felt a bit speechless inside.
Just at that moment, hurried footsteps were heard outside the garden, making Mu Qingge’s ears perk up. She said to the little Princess, "I guess your Qing’er is almost here, so I’ll take my leave now."
After speaking, her figure swiftly left the abandoned garden.
She didn’t want to complicate matters or invite trouble.
"Ah! Brother..." The little Princess’s face showed a hint of disappointment. Her pink lips murmured, "I still don’t know your name."
