Chapter 305: Chapter 305 Guo’er’s Home

"Are you two okay?" Lin Kuang couldn’t help but ask as he helped the two women to their feet.

"Yes, we’re fine. Are you okay?" they both asked in unison, looking at him.

"I’m fine, not dead yet. But it looks like we’ll have to find a new place to stay tonight," Lin Kuang said with a sense of helplessness, but his heart seethed with a cold, murderous intent.

These people are mercenaries; he was sure of it. However, not many mercenary groups are this ruthless. In his memory, only the Poison Spider was capable of such viciousness. Other Mercenary Corps didn’t employ such cruel methods!

"Finding another place isn’t a problem, as long as you’re okay," Liu Shilin said, finally letting out a breath of relief when she saw that he was unharmed.

Witch didn’t say much, but she was also reassured to see Lin Kuang was safe.

Just then, the piercing wail of sirens cut through the air. After all, Liu Shilin’s villa wasn’t in an isolated area. The neighborhood was full of residents, and someone had called the police the moment they heard gunshots. Now, police cars were pulling up.

"Let’s go. We should talk to the police," Lin Kuang said with a smile, looking at Liu Shilin, who had changed into her pajamas.

The two women nodded, and the three of them, looking rather disheveled, walked toward the front of the villa. At that moment, police officers were getting out of their cars. The two men in the lead were Deputy Chief Kong Cheng and the SWAT team captain, Qu Chang’an.

"Deputy Chief Kong, we meet again," Lin Kuang said with a helpless smile.

Seeing that Lin Kuang was alive, Kong Cheng sighed in relief. The moment he heard the emergency call from this address, his first thought had been of Lin Kuang. When he arrived, he found that it was indeed Lin Kuang’s residence that had been blown up. He had been worried Lin Kuang might be hurt, but it seemed he was perfectly fine.

"Whew! Lin Kuang, what on earth happened here?" Kong Cheng asked, looking at the flames still licking at the house.

"I’m not entirely sure myself," Lin Kuang answered, before explaining how Rex and the other mercenaries had tried to assassinate him.

Hearing the story, Kong Cheng nodded. "So that’s what happened. These mercenaries are unbelievably audacious!" After a moment of thought, he added, "You should go. We’ll handle things here. I’ll notify you if anything comes up."

Lin Kuang smiled. "Thank you, Deputy Chief Kong. We’ll be on our way, then."

Kong Cheng nodded, letting them leave. Lin Kuang, Liu Shilin, and Witch got into the only relatively intact vehicle, a Mercedes, and drove away from the estate.

"Where are we staying tonight?" Lin Kuang asked, looking at Liu Shilin and Witch with a helpless expression.

"Let’s go to Guo’er’s place," Liu Shilin suggested after a moment, sounding troubled. At this point, it was their only option.

Lin Kuang nodded and drove straight to Lin Guo’er’s residence while Liu Shilin used his phone to call her.

By the time the three of them arrived at Lin Guo’er’s villa, it was nearly midnight. Lin Guo’er was waiting at the door, and her expression darkened when she saw their sorry state.

"What happened? Why are you all so grimy?" she asked with concern.

Lin Kuang recounted the assassination attempt. As she listened, Lin Guo’er’s face grew even more troubled. She never would have expected something like this to happen.

"All of you, go take a shower. I have plenty of rooms. You can stay here for the next few days," Lin Guo’er offered.

"Yeah, if we don’t stay here, we have nowhere else to go," Lin Kuang said gloomily with a shrug.

"It’s no problem. You can stay as long as you need. Now go wash up. Are you hungry? I can make you something to eat if you are," Lin Guo’er asked kindly.

The three of them shook their heads. Liu Shilin and Witch then went upstairs to shower, while Lin Kuang and Lin Guo’er waited on the sofa in the living room.

After a few minutes of silence, Lin Kuang spoke first. "Guo’er, now that I’m at your place, it seems like the perfect opportunity to ’claim’ you, eh?" he said, giving the woman beside him a sly smile.

Lin Guo’er shot him an annoyed look. "You scoundrel! How can you think about that at a time like this?"

"Why not? What’s done is done. What would you rather I do? Sit here and mope?" Lin Kuang said helplessly.

Lin Guo’er paused at his words. She supposed he was right. Since it had already happened, there was no point in worrying about it.

"Alright. But perhaps not tonight. I’m going to keep Shilin and Witch company. If I can, I’ll come find you later," she said with a smile.

The thought of being with Lin Kuang made her heart pound with a mix of excitement and anxiety. After all, this would be her first time. She always talked a big game, but now that the moment was here, she was nervous, too.

"Okay, then. I’ll be waiting in my room. Don’t you dare stand me up," Lin Kuang said with a laugh, his eyes fixed on her charming face.

Lin Guo’er rolled her eyes at him. "You rogue. All you ever think about is mischief."

"That’s right. I think about my dear Guo’er all day. Now that I finally have my chance, how could I possibly let it slip by?" Lin Kuang said with a grin.

"Is that so?" Lin Guo’er giggled. "Well then, little brother Kuang, maybe tonight it’s your big sister’s turn to claim *you*." She gave him a seductive smile, her lovely eyes roaming over his body.

Seeing this, Lin Kuang felt a little flustered. "Stop looking at me like that, or I won’t be able to hold back. I might just take you right here."

"Oh, really?" she purred, her pretty face alight with playful temptation as her pink tongue darted out to lick the corner of her lips. "Then I dare you. I happen to be curious what it’s like in the living room."

A fire ignited in Lin Kuang’s heart. He lunged, tackling Lin Guo’er onto the sofa. "You little temptress," he growled, his voice thick with desire. "Don’t think I wouldn’t dare!"

Staring into his blazing eyes and feeling his raw, masculine presence, Lin Guo’er’s body began to heat up as well.

"Is that so?" she giggled, her hands deliberately unfastening her nightgown to reveal the black lace and alluring, snow-white skin beneath. "Then come on. I’m looking forward to it."

Seeing her, Lin Kuang’s breathing grew even heavier. She was simply too captivating at that moment.

"Alright, then! I’ll claim you right here and now!"

With that, he pulled her into a tight embrace, their heavy panting filling the air between them.
