"Lianmei, what are the arrangements?" Lin Kuang asked with a smile as he followed Zhang Lianmei to the head of the conference table.

"Mr. Lin, please take a seat first," Zhang Lianmei replied with a smile, not directly answering his question.

"There's no need for such formalities between us. Besides, I have no intention of taking over the Eagle Sect. This position has always been yours," Lin Kuang said, looking at her.

Upon hearing this, Zhang Lianmei was taken aback, as this was not what she had meant at all. After a moment's thought, however, she understood. Lin Kuang's words probably weren't for her, but for some of the other Eagle Sect members.

Indeed, after Lin Kuang spoke, the gazes some of the Eagle Sect members gave him became much friendlier, losing their earlier hostility.

At this point, Zhang Lianmei took her seat at the head of the table, the seat signifying the leader's position. Lin Kuang, on the other hand, pulled up a chair and sat beside her. He couldn't just stand there, after all. What kind of impression would that make?

"Everyone, my idea is to focus on defense," Zhang Lianmei said, her expression grave as she scanned the faces of those present. "After all, Chen Jiachong has many men. If we go on the offensive, we are bound to be at a disadvantage. My position is that we should defend."

In truth, her attention was primarily on Lin Kuang. Her question was aimed at him, as his opinion was the one she wanted most.

Hearing Zhang Lianmei's words, the others remained silent, their gazes unanimously falling upon Lin Kuang.

Seeing this, Lin Kuang stood up and nodded slightly to the group as a sign of respect. At this gesture, the expressions of a few more people softened. Whether Lin Kuang was faking it or being sincere, his conduct was impeccable. No one could find fault with it.

"Everyone, Lianmei has a point. We're outnumbered, so defense gives us a better chance of survival. But don't forget, the best defense is a good offense! Only when we've beaten them into submission and made them feel real pain will they come to fear us. They'll dread us and think twice before advancing.

"So, my recommendation is to attack—to take the initiative! One more thing, Chen Jiachong would likely never expect us to attack first. As such, we can completely seize the initiative. That is all I have to say."

Looking at the people before him, Lin Kuang smiled. He had witnessed far grander occasions, so a small meeting like this didn't faze him in the slightest.

Hearing Lin Kuang's words, most of the men fell into deep thought, as what he said certainly made sense. However, one man's expression soured instantly.

Then, the man scoffed and said, "Easy for you to say. Take the offensive? With what? We're clearly outnumbered. Isn't that just a suicide mission? Are you going to send our brothers to their deaths with just a few pretty words?"

Hearing this, the others in the room said nothing, simply fixing their gazes on Lin Kuang, apparently waiting for his response.

Lin Kuang's expression remained composed, a faint smile playing on his lips.

"We may not have the advantage in numbers," he said with a laugh, "but by attacking first, we gain the element of surprise. That will be our advantage, and it's how we'll seize the initiative."

He trusted that if these men weren't fools, they would understand what seizing the initiative truly meant.

Except for the man who had just spoken, the others nodded one by one, signaling their approval of Lin Kuang's proposal.

Seeing this, Zhang Lianmei also nodded. "I also strongly agree with Mr. Lin's proposal. In that case, we'll take the initiative. We make our move at ten o'clock tonight!"

With that, Zhang Lianmei stood up, her decision made. The man who had objected looked rather displeased but didn't dare say more. After all, Zhang Lianmei was the one in charge of the Eagle Sect.

"Alright, meeting adjourned!" Zhang Lianmei said coolly, waving her hand to dismiss them.

At her signal, the crowd filed out, leaving only Lin Kuang and Zhang Lianmei in the meeting room.

"Lianmei, you wanted to take the offensive from the start, didn't you? You just left the opportunity to say it to me, right?" Lin Kuang couldn't help but ask with a smile.

In truth, Lin Kuang truly admired this woman. She managed everything so meticulously, always ensuring she had an escape route. It was a feat not just any woman could achieve; even many men would fail.

Hearing his words, Zhang Lianmei froze for a moment, a flicker of panic in her beautiful eyes. "No, no, Mr. Lin, you're joking," she said hurriedly.

Lin Kuang just shook his head with a smile. "You can't fool me; I know you did it on purpose. Tell me, what's the name of the man who contradicted me just now? Something's off about that guy."

"His name is Hei Liuzi," Zhang Lianmei said after a moment's thought. "He's one of my most capable subordinates. He's quite ruthless but also very cautious."

"Oh? I'll go check on this Hei Liuzi. Wait for my signal, and be ready to gather everyone again," Lin Kuang said with a smile.

"Mr. Lin, is there really a problem with Hei Liuzi?" Zhang Lianmei couldn't help but ask.

Lin Kuang nodded with a smile. "Of course. Did you think I was so petty? That I'd retaliate over a personal grudge?"

Zhang Lianmei smiled awkwardly. For a moment there, that was exactly what I had thought.

"Alright, wait for my word. I'm going to go check," Lin Kuang said, turning and leaving quickly.

After leaving, Lin Kuang walked through the corridors, his Perception fully extended as he carefully listened to the sounds around him. In an instant, all sorts of conversations and other noises poured into his ears.

Eventually, he arrived at the restroom. He soundlessly opened the door and stepped inside.

The restroom was empty, but Lin Kuang could hear the faint sound of fingertips tapping on a screen. He tiptoed toward a stall and, bracing his hands on the partition walls, stealthily peeked his head over the top.

In his line of sight, Hei Liuzi was sitting on the toilet, his fingers rapidly typing characters on his phone.

Seeing this, Lin Kuang sneered. He took out his own phone and began recording. This is evidence, something I can use to explain myself if questioned later.

Just as Hei Liuzi was about to send the text message, Lin Kuang suddenly bellowed, "HEY!"

He had intentionally yelled as loud as he could. Hei Liuzi, already on edge with a guilty conscience and about to hit 'send' in his panic, jumped so violently that his phone clattered to the floor.
