Unrivaled Soldier in the City-Chapter 342: Slapping Faces
Hearing this, Lin Kuang nodded, took the USB drive from Cui Hongyu's pocket, and tossed it to Song Tao. He glanced at Song Tao and said flatly, "Have someone check it."
Song Tao nodded and sent a teammate out with the USB drive. Just as the member of the Thunderhawk Special Forces had left, Li Rongzu walked in with his men.
"Colonel Lin, shouldn't you have notified our special operations squad about something like this?" Seeing the state of the interrogation room, Li Rongzu's expression soured.
"Why should we notify you?" Lin Kuang scoffed. "First, you need to get the hierarchy straight. The higher-ups sent you to investigate, not to order us around!"
"True, we were sent to investigate," Li Rongzu retorted with a cold huff, "but the orders also stated that we were to have the full cooperation of the entire Nanjing Military Region! Acting on your own was wrong!"
"Oh? So you're saying we shouldn't have arrested them?" Lin Kuang said. "Fine. You can let them go."
"You... you're just twisting words and making trouble!" Li Rongzu said, his face twisting with displeasure. He felt a surge of irritation every time he saw Lin Kuang.
"Tsk, tsk. Is that so?" Lin Kuang shot back. "If we had waited for you to arrive, these two would have been long gone. Were we supposed to just stand by and watch them escape?"
"Even if you didn't wait for us, you still should have notified us!" Li Rongzu insisted, his tone hardening. "Especially after you brought them in. Handling this is our responsibility."
"So we catch the suspects, but we're not allowed to interrogate them? What kind of logic is that?" Lin Kuang said, his expression calm but his eyes filled with mockery. "Do we need your permission to eat a meal or use the restroom, too? Don't forget, this isn't Yanjing. Don't try to pull rank on me here. Even back in Yanjing, you wouldn't be qualified!"
Logically, he should have notified Li Rongzu and his team. But Lin Kuang knew they hadn't come here with good intentions. Why would he tell them anything?
Hearing Lin Kuang's arrogant tone, Li Rongzu's face flushed crimson. "Good, good! This is insubordination! Utter insubordination, Lin Kuang!" he roared, his body trembling with rage.
"Stop trying to pin labels on me," Lin Kuang said, stepping back with a cold laugh. "Li Rongzu, didn't you want to interrogate someone? Fine. This man from the Island Country is all yours. Go on."
Since Li Rongzu was here, he could handle the interrogation. Lin Kuang was more than happy to take a break.
Li Rongzu glared at Lin Kuang. He was furious, but there was truly nothing he could do. Suppressing his rage, he glanced at the man beside him. "Qian Zhou, interrogate them."
"Yes, Captain." Qian Zhou walked up to Cui Hongyu and immediately landed a heavy punch. Cui Hongyu's face went white, and he spat out a mouthful of blood. "Speak! What is all this about?" Qian Zhou demanded, his eyes savage.
"PAH!"
Cui Hongyu ignored him completely, spitting a mouthful of bloody saliva right onto Qian Zhou's face. Qian Zhou's expression turned utterly foul.
The next moment, Qian Zhou began pummeling Cui Hongyu, beating him to within an inch of his life. Yet, Cui Hongyu refused to give him the satisfaction. The more Qian Zhou beat him, the tighter he kept his mouth shut. Livid with frustration, Qian Zhou was at a complete loss.
After all, he couldn't actually beat the man to death. That would land him in a military tribunal, especially with Lin Kuang and his people watching.
With that thought, Qian Zhou gave up on Cui Hongyu and moved to interrogate Yamamoto Buryo. However, Yamamoto Buryo was even more tight-lipped than Cui Hongyu. He kept his mouth clamped shut, not uttering a single word. Qian Zhou was so enraged he wanted to shoot the man on the spot. After another brutal beating, Yamamoto Buryo remained silent, leaving Qian Zhou completely out of options.
Watching this unfold, Li Rongzu's expression grew incredibly grim. Meanwhile, Lin Kuang and Song Tao were smirking from the sidelines. The sight of their smiles only stoked the flames of Li Rongzu's smoldering anger.
"What's the matter, Captain Li?" Lin Kuang said mockingly. "Aren't you going to continue the interrogation? We're waiting for you to get something out of them."
Li Rongzu ground his teeth in fury. "Colonel Lin, we are in a cooperative relationship! You have no right to order my men around!"
"No, no, no, Captain Li, you misunderstand," Lin Kuang said, waving his hands dismissively, a broad smile on his face. "How could I possibly command you? I was merely inquiring. Just an inquiry. You mustn't misunderstand."
But his expression was a clear mockery of Li Rongzu. Rage burned in Li Rongzu's heart. He glared at Lin Kuang, but was so angry he couldn't speak.
Lin Kuang glanced back at him and said with a faint smile, "Well, Captain Li, since you're done interrogating, I suppose I'll continue."
"Be my guest!" Li Rongzu bit out, his face grim.
Lin Kuang just smiled and nodded, then walked over to Yamamoto Buryo.
"Still not planning to talk?" Lin Kuang asked with a smile.
Li Rongzu and his men watched with grim expressions, waiting for Lin Kuang to make a fool of himself. At the same time, a part of them hoped he would succeed. After all, cracking the case was the top priority. Trapped in this conflicting mindset, Li Rongzu and his five men could only stare intently.
As Lin Kuang approached, a clear flicker of terror appeared in Yamamoto Buryo's eyes.
Lin Kuang's strength was terrifying. He'd seen the methods Lin Kuang used on Cui Hongyu; the agony he endured was something no human should suffer.
Nevertheless, Yamamoto Buryo remained silent. He knew that if he talked, he was a dead man for sure.
"Not talking, are we? Good. You've got guts," Lin Kuang said with a wide smile. "I hope you're as tough as Cui Hongyu. I like people like you." To Yamamoto Buryo, however, that smile was nothing less than demonic.
With that, Lin Kuang began to apply the Bone-dislocating Hand technique to Yamamoto Buryo. The instant he began, Yamamoto Buryo could not stop himself from screaming in agony.
He had underestimated the power of the Bone-dislocating Hand and vastly overestimated his own endurance. The pain was worse than being flayed alive!
Lin Kuang systematically continued his work on Yamamoto Buryo's body, moving methodically from his shoulders to his arms, then to his hands and fingers, applying the technique bit by bit.
At that moment, Yamamoto Buryo felt the most excruciating pain in the world. He couldn't take it anymore; he simply couldn't endure it!
"I'll talk! I'll tell you everything!" Yamamoto Buryo rasped, his face a mask of agony.
