Kyle was a friend of Derek and Josh, those three men were the people that had bullied Emily a lot when they first joined the pack.

Ever since his two friends died, Kyle showed that he had changed. Even though he seemed to be courteous toward Emily recently, they couldn't say they were on good terms. They were just being civil with each other. They didn't even meet each other often.

But, since Colton trusted the young shifter, Eros didn't have any objection about him, after all, he knew these people more than he did, thus it was only right if he could tell who they could trust or not.

However, Eros learned that nothing was absolute. Even Colton could make a mistake and this mistake was so dire. They needed to pay for this with their own lives.

"Bring her to her bedroom," Liam said to Kyle, who immediately grabbed Emily's arm. "You can stay there and comfort her."

Comfort her….

It wouldn't end well and Eros knew that.

"HANDS OFF HER!" Eros roared when he saw Emily struggling to free herself from Kyle, but she wouldn't be able to overpower him, no matter what.

Kyle didn't budge and he literally dragged Emily away from there, despite her struggle. She even shouted and cursed at Liam.

It was not often to hear her curse, since she didn't like it. The memory of their adopted parents, who always cursed at every breath that they took made her hate those words.

But at this moment, Emily seemed to hate Liam more than the words that she spoke.

"LIAM! STAY AWAY FROM HER!" Eros roared, but when he was about to charge forward, four people from the organization stopped him.

Even though he couldn't shift into his beast, his human form was strong, as they trained in both forms in this pack.

Therefore, it was quite hard for them to stop him.

"Wait, Kyle," Liam said, but his eyes were fixed on Eros. He could see the bloody desire that he had to kill him, but there was nothing he could do at this point to make it come true.

It was a pity that he couldn't tame this lycan. If only he was obedient enough and he could use Emily as a leverage, he would be more than happy to have him by his side.

Yet, Eros was a lycan and this kind of shifter hated to be led, as they were born to be leaders.

"Bring her here and let her see what kind of punishment a traitor receives in this pack." Liam nodded at Kyle to bring Emily in front of him and let her kneel and watch everything with her own eyes.

It was an easy thing to make this girl stay still, since she didn't have any strength to fight back a fully grown warrior like Kyle.

Meanwhile, Eros stared daggers at Liam. It was clear that he would fight the alpha if he was given an opportunity to do so.

"You promised me! You promised me that you will not hurt Eros!" Emily screamed at Liam. She felt guilty that she agreed with him, in exchange for Eros's life, but why did he let him stay with Colton and the others?

Emily didn't want to look at Ariana and Colton, because of the extreme guilt that she felt toward both of them.

If there was something that Emily learned in this pack and from the experiences that she had to go through her entire life, it was; you should do whatever it takes in order to stay alive.

And right now, Emily did exactly that.

She liked and was grateful for Ariana and Colton for being so kind to her throughout her life in this pack, but if she had to choose, she would choose Eros all over again.

Their plan failed and they needed a way to survive.

Liam coughed and then focused his attention back on Eros. "You are not on the list, Eros, I know that you are not involved with them."

Bullshit.

Eros knew that Liam already knew of his involvement, but he had a hidden agenda that involved him in it and seeing how he had Emily, he was sure enough that he would use her to oppress him.

"Stop that bullshit, Liam." There was no more respect in his words, he didn't even address him as the alpha anymore.

"Watch your mouth, Eros. Their fall is absolute, but you can go die with them after you watch what I will do to your little human." Liam smirked, he didn't raise his voice, as if he was talking about the weather. "You know I will never hold back when it comes to violence and punishment."

Eros directed his eyes at Emily, as if he wanted to say; what have you done?! Why did you do this?!

However, Emily immediately lowered her head, she stopped struggling against Kyle and remained still like that, but her body was trembling, she was holding back tears. The hatred that Eros showed to her with the way he glared at her was too much.

This was the first time for him to look at her that way and it was scary to say the least.

Emily kept her head down as she gritted her teeth, she couldn't tell whether she would regret this or not. The guilty feeling was there, but she would feel no regret if this could save her and Eros's lives.

And then without a preamble, since the crime that they committed was so blatant and the proof was there, the punishment was something that they couldn't avoid.

"Kill them all." Liam ordered that without any change in his expression. He looked like someone, who was ordering something trivial, even though those people that he ordered to be killed were the people that had been following him for years.

Hearing that, Emily closed her eyes and her ears with both of her hands, but it couldn't prevent her from hearing the screams and roars that echoed in this room.

The smell of blood immediately permeated in the air, the tension was so high and the atmosphere was so heavy, one could cut it with a knife.

"NO! DON'T TOUCH HER!" Colton roared, he fought back when one of the men from the organization grabbed Ariana's body, she screamed at the top of her lungs while tears streamed down her cheeks. She kept shaking her head, as she looked at her mate.

Colton's eyes mirrored the same fear that she felt.

Who would have thought that they wouldn't even see the night? Just this morning, Ariana helped him to get ready for morning training as they said 'I love you' to each other before they started their activities. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝙚𝒘𝙚𝓫𝒏𝙤𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝙘𝙤𝒎

But now, they didn't even have a chance to say goodbye when they parted in this life. How unpredictable life could be.

All of them fought back, but there was nothing much that they could do in this situation, especially when they couldn't even shift into their beasts and were outnumbered greatly.

Emily's whole body was trembling like a leaf in the wind by the time the sound of screaming stopped, which felt like ages.

But, Ariana's scream was the one that would terror her for the rest of her life. She had never heard her scream like that before, so did Colton when he watched his mate die right before his eyes, before one of the men from the organization beheaded him.

There was only one growl, like an injured animal that could be heard in this room and that came from Eros. He watched everything that happened.

He will never forgive me. He will never forgive me. He will never forgive me.

Emily kept repeating these words in her mind. She shook her head, as if by doing so, it could make her a little bit calm.

But it couldn't. She knew that Eros wouldn't forgive her for this. He would hate her.

And when everything became quiet again, Liam spoke.

"Take him to the dungeon and you can take her to her room, try to comfort her. I will talk with her later." He gave Kyle these instructions before he left.

While the other warriors looked away from the dreadful sight before their eyes before they dragged Eros away from there.

On the other hand, Emily didn't fight when Kyle took her to her bedroom.

But, once it was only the two of them, she lost it.

"WHY DID YOU DO THAT?!" Emily snapped, she went ballistic, as she threw a few things that she could reach at Kyle. She didn't care what she grabbed. It was good if he got a serious injury. "WHY DID YOU BETRAY THEM!? WHY?!"

If it was not for Kyle, no one would have known about what they were plotting.

"COLTON TRUSTED YOU! HE THOUGHT OF YOU LIKE HIS BROTHER! HOW COULD YOU BETRAY HIM LIKE THAT!"

And when there was nothing more that Emily could throw at Kyle, she went to punch him.

Kyle immediately grabbed both of her hands, but then she kicked him, thus he turned her body around and pinned her against the wall to stop her from attacking him.

"STOP IT, YOU MAD GIRL!" Kyle roared, as he pinned her so hard against the wall, she felt as if there were two walls that pressed her on both sides. "Brother?! Do you think Colton thinks of me as his brother? He thought of Eros as his brother and now he wanted to put him in the alpha's position?! That same man that had killed my friends! Two of my friends died in his hands!"
