Unwritten Desires-Chapter 35
Chapter 35: Chapter 35
Eleanor
"Later." I said to Elvis as I got down from his car, making sure to close the door behind me.
And I waited till he was gone before I put my hood over my head. The weather was a bit cooler today so I didn’t worry about sweating.
I made my way to the eastern entrance of the parking lot just like Liam had said. A part of me was a bit terrified while the other part was incredibly curious to know why Liam of all people needed my help.
When I finally arrived, I couldn’t help but notice how empty the place was. Surely it was filled with cars but the people I spotted were barely up to five.
And this was the parking lot.
One of the places where most students hung out when they wanted to skip classes.
"Hmm." I pursed my lips. "I guess he was right." I murmured as I slipped my hands into my pocket. I was still busy looking around for Liam before a black BMW with tinted windows pulled up in front of me.
"Get in." A voice came from the inside as the window slid down.
Liam.
Of course it had to be him.
No one else would use such a mannerless approach.
But why was he sitting in the back though? Did someone else tag along with him??
Liam snapped his gaze towards me when he saw that I wasn’t moving. "Are you deaf or something? I said get in." He glared at me and I had never felt so disrespected in my life.
Normally I would walk away seeing that this human didn’t appreciate my decision to show up but this wasn’t a normal situation so I had no choice but to get in.
After returning his glare that is.
The nice and considerate part of me wanted to assume that the only reason he was this rude was because he was anxious and he didn’t want anyone to notice us but knowing who he was and the asshole he could be, I should’ve expected nothing less than that.
I made sure to stay at the very edge of the car and as far away from Liam as possible.
Maybe I should have just stayed in the front with his friend. The thought ran through my head as my gaze drifted to the guy with dirty blonde hair who was driving the car.
Why did Liam even want to stay in the back when there was an empty seat in the front?
I tried my best not to look or pay attention to him but I could still feel the heat waves from his body, pressing against my skin even though the air conditioners were freaking on.
"Um hello." The guy in the driver’s seat called out with a teasing lilt in his voice as he adjusted the rear view mirror, his glowing amber eyes finding mine.
I blinked, realizing I had been staring at him without even noticing. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
"Hi..." the corner of my eyes crinkled with my smile. "Sorry about that. I was just wondering why your friend here refused to take the front seat and let me have the back all to myself. I mean you certainly don’t look like his driver." I said perfectly aware that Liam could hear us.
If Liam was going to be a jerk to me, I might as well get this guy to be on my side. Besides I was pretty sure he knew Liam and I weren’t really dating.
The guy’s lips curled into a smirk as his eyes gleamed with amusement. "Oh? And why’d you say that?" His eyes met mine in the mirror before he adjusted it to its original position so he could dodge a car behind us.
"Just a gut feeling." I shrugged even though he couldn’t see me as his eyes were on the road. I could literally feel and see Liam glaring at me with the corner of my eye but I wasn’t going to give him the attention he wanted.
The guy then let out a chuckle. "Well if you must know, I am his friend and even though he doesn’t say it much, he loves me...very much." He added dramatically.
"Shut up and drive, Adrian." Liam grumbled from beside me and I stifled my grin.
And then it clicked.
Adrian.
Oh God how could I forget?
Adrian was the only friend of Liam. The only person in the whole novel who knew about Liam’s whole revenge plan. His only accomplice.
"See." Adrian whipped around to meet my gaze with a smug look before turning back to the road. "He loves me."
Of course he did. Adrian was one of the people that Liam actually enjoyed being around...well except Sofia that is.
"Hey Alex..."
Oh so other people could call him Alex but I couldn’t. Okay.
"You didn’t tell me this girlfriend of yours was going to be this entertaining." He glanced at him in the rear view mirror.
Liam...or Alex rather looked like he wanted to say something but I beat him to it. "Well...I’m sure you know the reason behind our relationship so I would really appreciate it if you don’t call me his girlfriend...or the other way around." My voice was deceptively sweet. "He is literally anything but boyfriend material." I turn towards him with a smile that doesn’t reach my eyes only to find him already narrowing his eyes at me.
His features then relax into that sly smile he always has on his face when he’s teasing me. "Funny. I could say the same thing about you."
I blinked, clearly caught off guard by his comment. "Excuse you?" I scoffed. "I am perfect girlfriend material." I placed my hand on my chest.
"I’m just not nice to self centered assholes who think it’s perfectly normal to be mean to people or threaten them to help him when he could just ask nicely."
"What did you just call me?"
"Oh darling. Trust me that’s a lot more nicer than the other names up here." I gestured to my head.
"Wow Alex. She even calls you darling." Adrian’s amused tone interrupted our banter. "You know I always thought you would end up alone with trust issues and that fancy guitar of yours...but this is so much better."
My eyes popped open as my gaze darted between a still amused Adrian and a furious L...Alex.
I then made a mental note to stick to Liam for now so I won’t slip up in public or blow his cover by mistake.
Now back to what just happened...
"You play the guitar?" The shock and amusement was evident in my tone.
I did read his POV a couple of times back then when I was reading the novel but he never mentioned a guitar.
Hmm. A smirk played on my lips. Maybe that’s how he won Sofia over.
With his charming guitar skills.
I bit back a laugh. So cliche.
Liam didn’t say anything. He just ignored both of us, his jaw clenched as he stared out the window.
"Don’t worry. He’s just shy." Adrian said when Liam didn’t speak and I couldn’t hold my laugh anymore. "Anyways, nice to meet you uh..." his words hung in the air before dissolving into silence and that was when I realized I hadn’t told him my name and I was certain Mr. Grumpy grumps here hadn’t told him either.
"E...Theodora." My body stiffened at my slight slip up.
Crap. I almost said my real name.
That was a close one. I thought as I let out a slow breath trying to calm my racing heart.
"Theodora." He tested the name on this tongue as he rounded a corner. "That’s a cute name." He glanced at me with a small smile before turning his attention back to the road.
"Thanks...even though the name doesn’t actually belong to me." I returned his smile, saying that last part in my head.
"And hey...if things don’t work out, I make excellent boyfriend material. Just saying." He sang with a small shrug.
I was about to reply to him but apparently the guy that had been quiet all this while chose to speak up. "She’s a minor Adrian." His gaze never left his phone, his annoyance evident in his voice. "You’re literally ten years older than her."
"Says the guy who’s in a fake relationship with me knowing fully well he’s way older than what he claims to be." I couldn’t stop the words from tumbling out.
Who knew being deprived of my real age would piss me off so much?
"Oooh I like this one. We’re definitely keeping her after we’re done with this." Adrian howled with laughter.
"Out of the question."
"Hey hey. I’m not some toy that you guys can argue over." I said, giving Liam a disgusted look knowing perfectly well that Adrian was also at fault. "And as for you Adrian...I’d love to remain friends after we’re done finding who framed Liam." I jerked my thumb towards the guy seated across from me.
"Just don’t bring him to our meetups. He’ll ruin the mood." I said drawing a laugh out of Adrian.
"You know you never really mentioned how you found out about my friend here." His gaze flicked to me again. "Are you a psychic or something?" The teasing lilt in his voice was audible.
"You could say that." I hummed, careful not to say anything that would expose me. "Or we could just leave it to be my little secret."
Adrian laughed again and we continued talking about random topics in the car and I was certain Liam would jump out the door if he had the chance just so he could get away from us.
Finally the car pulled to a stop in a garage next to a very simple yet pretty house and that was when I realized that I was so busy chatting that I didn’t bother asking Adrian where we were headed.
But now we were already here...
My thoughts trailed off as I stepped out of the car taking in the view before me.
...the only question that ran through my head was who did this house belong to?
It could either be Liam or Adrian or even both.
Or it could even be someone else.
"So..." I turned to Liam, deciding to voice out my thoughts. "Are you finally going to tell me what’s going on?"
Liam sighed through his nose, still refusing to look at me. "Not here. We’ll talk when we get inside."
Ugh. Can’t he just give me a hint or something??
It was already stupid of me to come here without knowing what I was in for and now I was going to walk right in there without knowing if they were going to chop my head off or knock me out cold and the worst part was no one knew where I was.
My family thought I was in school and I had told Sofia that I had stayed at home to help my mum with some stuff since she was a baker and I had also made sure to tell her not to ask or say anything to my mum about it as she didn’t like it when I told people I skipped school just to help her out.
Yeah it was a silly excuse but at least it saved me.
Adrian probably sensed my worry because when Liam was about a few steps away from us, he whispered. "Don’t worry, he won’t kill you. He just needs your help with something." He reassured me.
"And do you have any idea what that something may require of me?" I cocked a brow.
"Mmm." He hummed tilting his head as we moved towards the entrance of the building. He then crosses his hand behind his back as he says, "Just a little of your seduction skills." He smiles at me leaving me rooted to the spot as he walks ahead.
Seduction skills????
