Urban LitRPG System-Chapter 63: Blanka Silber. (1/2)
" Wow, you drive so nice "
Blanka complimented him as she gently held onto Max’s shoulder, her fingers light but steady through the fabric of his jacket. Max was taking her somewhere she didn’t know, mostly didn’t care because it was Max, she knew how gentle he could be. The evening air was cool and the city lights were slowly turning on, the deep red bike gliding smoothly between cars while the engine stayed low and controlled instead of roaring.
Max didn’t increase speed because this bike was made for a single person. Although two people could sit on it, increasing speed would only make her uncomfortable, and he was actively avoiding the police because Blanka didn’t have a helmet on. His throttle inputs were soft, braking early, leaning clean through turns, keeping the ride stable so she wouldn’t slide or jerk behind him. Every move was calculated, protective without saying it out loud.
*DEE* *DOO* *DEE* *DOO*
" Sigh! "
Max shook his head, because this police car was following them from far away and he didn’t speed up more than the speed limit, and traffic in Munich was too heavy to just disappear into. The siren was for them and the red illuminated sign on the roof flashed ’Please Follow’ before the car moved ahead to guide them.
Max just followed them, no sudden moves, no panic, simply rolling off the throttle and keeping distance. Blanka didn’t say a word, she didn’t understand what was happening, she was simply enjoying the ride, so when Max slowed down and followed the police car, she only felt a little odd at the slower pace and tightened her grip slightly around his shoulder.
They took Max to an open shoulder road, where the space was good and safe. Max parked just behind the police car neatly, straight line, engine cut, then he saw two police officers get down, both middle-aged and a little overweight, one man and one woman, their uniforms tight around the waist, walking over calmly.
" Why did they stop you? "
Blanka gripped Max’s shoulder tighter now, although she was very brave in front of him, seeing the police still made her a bit nervous.
" Let’s see, I don’t know but maybe you don’t have a helmet, that’s why "
" Ah! "
" Remove the helmet "
The male police officer gestured Max to get off the bike and told him to remove the helmet. Max looked back and, seeing Blanka was in no mood or sense to get off, he gently put his feet down, swung one leg over and stepped off first, then with a single leg motion the side stand dropped into place and he leaned the bike down smoothly, steady and controlled like every other movement he made.
Max removed his helmet and brushed his hair with his fingers as it was messy, pushing the strands back neatly, then handed the helmet to Blanka, who held it against her chest with both hands. He walked over to the police officers calmly, boots steady on the asphalt, posture straight, no rush, no fear, like he was just going to talk with a neighbor instead of the police.
" License, registration, and ID "
They didn’t look cruel, on the contrary the female police officer was smiling at him with a kind smile, while the male officer stood beside her with his hands on his belt, relaxed, not aggressive at all.
" Hello, here they are, the registration paper was too big so I have a photo of it with me, you can verify it online, here is my license and ID "
Max pulled out his ID and license card from his wallet and showed his registration paper on his phone, the screen already unlocked before they even asked twice. The police took his phone and narrowed his eyes, squinting at the small text.
" He is a bit short-sighted, I’ve asked him to get glasses lots of times but he won’t listen, is that your girlfriend? "
The female police officer spoke to Max this time, she was talking like a wife would, casually teasing the male officer in an endearing way, and the man only grunted like he was used to it.
" Yes, I saw her with her friends, she lives in a dorm so we rarely meet, I am aware she didn’t bring a helmet with her, I wanted to take her to the pizza joint nearby, I know I broke the rules and all "
Max, seeing the friendly female cop who gave off a motherly vibe, smiled lightly and explained himself clearly, voice respectful and direct, not making excuses, just stating facts. The police officer nodded her head with understanding.
" Here, all okay, you see that shop? That sells helmets, buy one, I will leave you both with a warning "
The male officer, after checking everything out, found Max was a legit guy, everything up to date, no record, and scaring young people was the last thing they wanted to do, so he pointed at a nearby shop that sells stock helmets.
" This is a final warning, next time I see you break rules, I will give you a ticket, also download the digital registration app ’i-Kfz’ for future use "
" He’s like that, enjoy your night, you look cute together and don’t take unnecessary risks "
Both officers turned and went to their car, slow and casual. Max understood they wouldn’t go away if he didn’t get a helmet now, so he crossed the busy road carefully, cars passing left and right, bought a €100 basic helmet in red, simple and safe, because Blanka was wearing a red high neck today, and he figured it would match her.
" Here this is for you, wear it "
Max handed the red helmet to Blanka who was shocked, both hands coming up slowly to take it like it was something precious. She was checking him out all this time to ease her panic, watching how calm he talked to the police, how straight he stood, how steady his voice was, he was sexy as hell and now that he was giving her a helmet, her face turned red, fingers brushing his for a second when she grabbed it.
" T...Thank you, I will keep it forever "
??
Max narrowed his eyes with confusion, he didn’t want to just give this to her, he wanted to keep it too for his next passenger, his bike was red too so it matched, but seeing how she hugged it close like it was a gift, he didn’t say anything. Explaining now would only ruin the mood. He simply wore his helmet quietly and, before starting, saw the police car finally drive away.
Max started slow and drove it for half an hour as Blanka was enjoying the ride, her arms wrapped around his waist the whole time, her helmet lightly tapping against his back whenever he slowed or leaned, the small contact warm and steady. He kept the speed smooth and controlled, no sudden throttle, no sharp braking, riding clean lines through traffic like a professional, protecting her comfort first.
When he finally saw a nice restaurant which was called ’ Mandarin Oriental ’, the name glowing in gold letters on a tall sign near the gate, large glass walls showing an open kitchen inside with chefs moving under bright lights, security guards and valets standing at the entrance, the place clearly clean and safe, he entered its premises.
Damn! This is rich people’s business here.
